During the last decades the fertility of dairy cows has declined in the same rate as the milk yield has increased. This is a result of the negative genetic correlation between milk yield and fertility, failure to show estrous signs and metabolic problems in the cow. The purpose of this review was to investigate the function of metabolites and hormones as markers for disturbances in fertility, health and production in the dairy cow. There are several metabolites that are suggested to indicate the cow?s energy balance.

The use of silicon carbide (SiC) as a base material in power electronics has manyadvantages, including high breakdown voltage and excellent temperature endurance.However, the packaging of such electronics presents major challenges and there is aneed for packaging that can operate in higher temperature. The purpose of this thesishas been to develop a test method and verify the functionality of SiC powertransistors prototypes with a new packaging technique developed by Swerea IVF AB.It includes setting up an electrical test-bed for power and high temperature cyclingand analysis of the results. Even though test confirmed functionality after thepackaging process, (at room temperature) the performance seemed to have been reduced. This could be a result of the measurement setup and the packaging process.In higher temperature the transistors failed to operate longer than a couple ofminutes which showed the weaknesses in the design and the challenges with this typeof packaging..

Syfte: Huvudsyftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka betydelsen av finansiella rapporter genom att studera aktiekursens reaktion på Stockholmsbörsen för tidpunkten när företags finansiella rapporter blir offentliga. Detta bryts ned i två delsyften; Skapar årsrapporter synbara reaktioner på svenska aktiemarknaden OMX vid tidpunkten för offentlighetsdatumet? samt följer reaktionerna på svenska aktiemarknaden årsrapporternas status? Metod: Undersökningen är uppdelad i två delar. Den första utgörs av en nyckeltalsanalys, på 81 finansiella rapporter mellan åren 1991-2009, för att fastställa rapporternas status och den senare är en eventstudie som behandlar aktieutvecklingen vid offentlighetsdatumet för rapporterna. Undersökningen har en kvantitativ ansats där empirin består av sekundärdata i form av årsredovisningar, delårsrapporter och börskursindex.Teori: Rapporten bygger på hypotesen om effektiva marknader, signalteorin samt teorin om insiderinformation.Empiri: Utav 81 undersökta rapporter var 32 stycken starka, 27 stycken svaga, och 22 stycken neutrala.  Alla rapporters eventfönster för offentliggörandet gav antingen ett positivt eller negativt AAR.

The purpose of this thesis is to try to find out what effect subject oriented projects like Energiutmaningen has on the teachers, with a focus on teachers? physics education. What was the experience for the teachers who participated and what effects did the project have on them. Four teachers were interviewed through qualitative interviews. From the result it showed that the most experienced teachers, who have been teaching physics for many years, gained a new perspective of their teaching, through their participation a development showed in their education.

I denna litteraturstudie har vi ämnat undersöka fenomenet mobbning ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv. Studien fokuserar på de olika roller som individer har i en mobbningssituation, i syfte att identifiera dessa samt vilka faktorer som medverkar till att skapa dem. Genom att systematiskt samla in data från olika undersökningar om mobbning utifrån ett grupperspektiv och sedan analyserat dessa med utgångspunkt i det sociokulturella perspektivet har vi sökt svar på våra frågeställningar. Resultatet av studien visar att det går att identifiera sex olika roller i en mobbningssituation, samt att dessa roller till stor del bestäms genom individernas samspel, där individernas sociala status och acceptans är bidragande faktorer till att skapa och återskapa rollerna. Resultatet diskuteras slutligen med fokus på hur det kan användas i en pedagogisk verksamhet i arbetet mot mobbning. .

An energy study has been performed on two blocks in an area called Gävle Strand. The buildings are owned by a tenant-owner?s association called brf Carolina and were built by the company Skanska 2008. The builder as well as brf Carolina are pussled by the fact that electricity use is higher than expected while heating is less. Skanska is also very interested in finding out how much heat recovery from stale exhaust air through a geo-thermal heat pump is contributing to the general heating requirement and energy balance in four out of the ten buildings located on the properties.To find possible answers to the higher electricity use a literature survey on user behaviour was conducted.

 Under år 2008 utbetalades 9,5 miljarder svenska kronor som ekonomiskt bistånd till 4,2 procent av Sveriges befolkning. Därigenom har det ekonomiska biståndet en stor plats i det svenska sociala arbetet. Trots detta har handläggning av ekonomiskt bistånd en låg status då arbetet anses vara enkelt att utföra i förhållande till andra delar av det sociala arbetet. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur socialsekreterare som handlägger ekonomiskt bistånd erfar sin yrkesstatus. Metoden var i kvalitativ form och halvstrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med tre socialsekreterare.

The present study examined high school students? attitudes to higher education at university/college and their study engagement in an industrial town in klarälvdalen in the county of Värmland. The main research question was whether there are any differences between students in vocational and theoretically oriented programs regarding their attitude to higher education and study engagement. The results was also compared with a study with the same research question conducted in Countryside town in fryksdalen, Värmland county to see whether attitude and student engagement differ between high school students in different parts of Värmland. The method used was quantitative with data collected by using questionnaires.

In this thesis we propose a conceptual plan for thedevelopment of an Agroforestry Training Centre (ATC)in Musoma, Tanzania. The aim is to make a proposalto support peasant education in agroforestry. How canan ATC in Musoma be developed into a stimulatingand educational park suitable for teaching agroforestrymethods to peasant farmers and other potential users?To answer that a field study was conducted to investigatehow our client Vi Agroforestry Programme (Vi) and thetarget groups of the client can benefit from the site.The thesis begins with a short explanation of thecontext, in which the ATC plays a part followed by amethodology chapter. Next are three chapters presentedwhich introduce the reader to the research conductedbefore starting the proposal, these include: results ofliterature studies, study of precedents, and results of fieldstudy.

The purpose of this study is to examine sex/gender relations amongst staff in public libraries who have taken part in projects related to information technology. This is done through e-mail surveys and telephone interviews with staff who have participated in the development of the two library websites Mina bibliotek and Biblioteket.se regarding their experiences. The theoretical basis for the analysis is two gender theoretical perspectives with reference to technology. The first perspective is represented by Yvonne Hirdman?s theory concerning the gender system, in which women and men are kept apart and in which there is always a hierarchy where men are higher up, and Hanna Westberg-Wohlgemuth?s theory concerning sex marking of job-tasks.

Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka om det går att urskilja om det finns kriterier och mönster för vilka författare och verk som får uppmärksamhet i pressen.Metod: Kvalitativ forskningsintervjuSlutsats: Vissa författare och förlag har en högre status hos kulturredaktionerna.

Fewer and fewer people from the age of 60 and upward are still in the working life according to a working survey from Central Bureau of Statistics. Only one of twenty can consider retiring after an age of 65. According to another survey that National Insurance Administration put through year 2000, just about 40 % of the working population desires to finish working before an age of 65. This trend towards lower seceding age seems to continue. There are number of factors that seem for lower retirement age and others for a higher retirement age that we prove in our study.

This study has as an objective to compare and evaluate the living conditions of two immigrant children residing in different places in Sweden. Given that immigrants often are looked upon as a social and physical vulnerable group in relation to disadvantageous socioeconomic conditions the children's lives were analyzed in relation to four public health objects. By using Runkeeper, GIS, Equipop data, time geographic material, telephone conversations and a web survey the children lives are analyzed within their activity spaces. The children formed their lives in different socioeconomic environments and adapted their lives after their conditions. The perspective on individual level can be put in contrast with studies based on society level.

Detta är en socialpsykologisk vinjettstudie med syfte att ta reda på observatörens inställning till att ingripa i en mobbningssituation, där vi tittar på frågeställningarna: Påverkar maktrelationerna mellan mobbaren och mobbningsoffret observatörens vilja att ingripa? Påverkar maktrelationen mellan observatören och mobbaren observatörens vilja att ingripa? Påverkar könet på mobbaren och mobbningsoffret observatörens vilja att ingripa? Forskningen kring arbetsplatsmobbning är inte lika omfattande som den forskning som finns kring mobbning i skolmiljö. I denna studie använder vi oss av Björks definition av mobbning som är kontinuerliga inkompetensförklaringar. Studien utfördes på 144 personer som arbetar inom vården, eftersom den offentliga sektorn är ett yrkesområde som statistiskt sett drabbas mycket av mobbning. Mobbarens och den mobbades kön och status var de oberoende variablerna och ingripande, acceptans, oro, motivation och allvarlighetsgrad var de beroende variablerna.

Ammerån which is a small forest river in eastern Jämtland is a well-known river that has been a popular fishing river for a long time. The actual Ammerån begins downstream the lake Solbergsvattnet at Hammerdal and flows into the Indalsälven 10 km upstream Hammarstrand. The river environment switches between forests with wilderness feeling and open agricultural land. The entire Ammerån is today a nature reserve and protected from hydropower development. Fishing in Ammerån has mainly been focused on trout and grayling, and is so even today.
