For centuries inbreeding has been used to refine traits in dogs, making desired traits more hereditary and thereby, different breeds have been invented. Breed standards have been written for each of these breeds, describing in detail the different characteristics of each breed. When humans start to choose which animal to breed from, so called artificial selection, taste is put before function and the laws of nature, the natural selection, cease to apply. During this development, pedigree dogs have gone towards more and more extreme exterior characteristics and the dogs may have inherited various, more or less, severe problems for example compromised vision, impaired ability to move and difficulties to breathe. However they can still survive and reproduce because humans provide them with the conditions to do so.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine health professionals´ experiences of giving advice regarding sleep to parents of infants and to perform and evaluate an intervention in the form of introducing information about the sleep of infants.Method: The study was designed as an intervention study with a qualitative approach where data was collected from two focus groups in the form of interviews. The intervention consisted of the information material Sugen på sömn. There were five participants whom three of them participated in the second interview. The purpose of this study has been to analyze how managers within the elderly care who operate according to the Social Services Act work to support the assistant nurses with the social documentation. In order to achieve my purpose and to be able to answer the research questions, a qualitative approach was selected. My empirical material consists of seven interviews, four with assistant nurses and three with managers. Anthony Giddens? structuration theory in Månsson, (2003 s. 422) has been my theoretical starting-point and the concepts of practical and discursive consciousness have been used in the analysis.

Syftet med denna studie är att öka förståelsen för den sexuella läggningens betydelse för upplevelsen av arbetsplatsen. Undersökningen baseras på fyra intervjuer med homosexuella poliser som är medlemmar i Föreningen för gaypoliser i Sverige. Studien undersöker hur öppna de är med sin sexuella läggning på arbetsplatsen, kollegornas bemötande angående deras sexuella läggning och hur medlemskapet i föreningen har påverkat dem på deras arbetsplats. Studien använder tre teoretiska utgångspunkter: begreppen socialkonstruktivism och heteronormativitet och även Raewyn Connells teori om maskuliniteter. Resultatet av studien redovisas i fem delar.

En stor del av befolkningen tillbringar den största delen av sin tid på arbetet. Detta gör arbetsplatsen till en viktig arena att arbeta med för att ökat välbefinnande bland fler människor. Delaktighet och inflytande är faktorer som har stor betydelse för individens välmående, som kan främjas genom ett bra ledarskap och en bra psykosocial arbetssituation. Ett idag vanligt försök till att skapa delaktighet och inflytande på arbetsplatsen är att använda sig av årliga medarbetarsamtal. Beroende på hur det väljer att användas kan det leda till ett viktigt lärande för såväl individ som organisation, men används instrumentet slarvigt riskerar samtalet att förlora sin mening för samtliga inblandade.

Abstract Co-operation difficulties in the work place can be a problem serious enough. Co-operation difficulties can occur between employee and employer, as well as employees among themselves. Irrespective of between which individuals the co-operation difficulties occur, it will have negative consequences. These can consist of, for example that individuals might suffer mentally, inproductivity and also an unwished economic disadvantage for the employer. From the employers? side it is pointed out that it is important with employees who are possible to co-operate with in a satisfactory way.

The goal of telephone advice nursing is to give the caller a correct advice, adapted to the caller?s situation, in order to reach correct care level. However, registered nurse?s telephone advice includes risks for misjudgement.
