During 2012, the employer of this essay carried out a telephone survey with 18000 participants and a web panel survey with 708 participants. Those who partook in the telephone survey were given a choice to join the web panel. The purpose of this work is to study the participants of the telephone survey and see if they reflect the Swedish population with regards to several socio-demographic factors. Also, we intend to investigate if the propensity to join the web panel differs for participants of the telephone survey with regards to various socio-demographic affiliations. It is also of interest to study if the response pattern is different for participants of the telephone survey that would like to join the web panel and those who reject.

This thesis aims to discuss how an information system and its users may adapt to each other. The main discussion is how to create an information system that is adaptable without losing its organising properties. The thesis uses a holistic approach to the topic and the areas being dealt with are information architecture, interactive information retrieval and information searching. The practical work consisted of constructing a database for Autoliv?s Research and Development branch.

In relation to the development of IT-products it is very important that the software supplier is aware not only of the target group but also the field of application. Usability should characterize the whole IT-design process as, in relation to this context, design includes more than merely those aspects which are visible to and thus can be interpreted by the naked eye. The study examines the specific qualities and properties that substantiate the usability and the demands that a customer rightfully expects from an IT-product. The user and the customer are highlighted in the same context in order to demonstrate that it is through the customer that an IT-product is defined as being useful. Thus, from this perspective, the user and customer can be considered as being the same person.

The object of this thesis is to direct attention onto female inmates who is a disregarded user group within the discipline of library and information sciences. This study has been performed on location at the Hinseberg correctional institution where nine female criminal offenders constitute the empirical foundation of our inquiry. The question proposed for solution is as follows: Is there a correlation between socio-cultural prerequisites and the reading habits of the female inmates - and if so how can it be described? Among the conclusions that we have drawn from our study is that the socio-cultural environment has an influence on the well-being of the inmates which in its turn has an impact on their reading. However, the effects on their mental state vary and consequently so does also their reading.

Detta för att banken ska behålla och vårda sina kunder samt skapa konkurrensfördelar.Metod: För att komma fram till svaret på vår problemformulering använder vi oss av intervjuer, enkäter och företagsbesök. Informationen vi får fram ur dessa jämför vi sedan med våra teorier.Slutsats: Kristianstads Sparbank har i nuläget ett serviceutbud som stämmer väl överens med vad deras företagskunder efterfrågar. Banken har lyckats väl med sanningens ögonblick då företagen generellt ger höga medelbetyg på den service som banken erbjuder. De mest intressanta slutsatserna har vi kunnat dra utifrån kommentarerna på enkäten.

Arbetet består av en närläsning av karaktären Kurt Hummel i tv-serien Glee med fokus på stereotyper för homosexuella män, och hur Kurt förhåller sig till dem stereotyperna. The aim of the study was to investigate nurses? perception about patients? participation in medicine treatment and how to make the patient participate. A qualitative method was used and six nurses were interviewed. The nurses? perceptions of patients? participation in medicine treatment were characterized especially by patients having good knowledge about their medicines.

The modern auditor is, because of an increased complexity, dependent on the use of experts. Simultaneously different scandals have occurred where the auditor in fact have been using experts. Although the auditor is using an expert, the auditor alone is responsible for the statement that the expert makes. Research simultaneously indicates that the auditor?s use of experts is a difficult task.

The purpose of this Master thesis is to increase the knowledge about how public libraries can contribute to fulfil political programmes aimed towards integration. To achieve this we have conducted an evaluative case study about a public library in Sweden and the activities they carried out within the framework of the metropolitan policy programme Storstadssatsningen?. The questions raised consider which the political aims for integration within this programme were, which activities the library did accomplish, what the result in comparison with the politically decided aims was, and what conclusions can possibly be drawn from this? The theoretical framework consists of theories regarding evaluation, political programmes, integration and segregation, and public library-activities.

Ett av motiven har varit att HR-funktionens strategiska personalarbete kan bidra till kostnadseffektivitet och värdeskapande som behövs i en konkurrenskraftig miljö. Kunskapsintensiva organisationer i tillväxt är helt beroende av sitt humankapital och bör definiera behoven att ha ett utstuderat sätt att arbeta med HR.   Syfte: Syftet med studien är att förstå de behov och förväntningar som föreligger att implementera en formaliserad HR-funktion för kunskapsintensiva företag i tillväxt. Vi vill genom studien undersöka HR-funktionens roll och betydelse samt nyansera bilden av organisationens drivkrafter till att implementera en formaliserad HR-funktion. Metod: Uppsatsen består av en induktiv ansats med en kvalitativ metod.

This essays overarching aim is to contribute to the theoretical discussion of transformation processes that are shaping the urban landscapes and further to problematize contemporary planning discourses in Sweden. Drawing on the concept of Foucault?s heterotopia and actor-network theory for spatial analysis, the paper seeks to analyze the complex urban landscape transformation process as an emergent property of human and non-human actor-networks seeking to transform and order space. With the district of Rosenlund in Gothenburg as a starting point, this thesis intends to examine how the cultural infrastructure - used by the residents and visitors of the city - are related to the city's planning and development processes. The case study is based on a boat (Rio Rio) in Rosenlund canal that is defined as a cultural infrastructure.

Kompetens inom informationsteknologi är någonting som är av stor vikt i bibliotekarieyrket. Kunskapen är till stor del beroende av hur information om mindre och kontinuerliga uppdateringar och förändringar inom hårdvara och mjukvara nårpersonal i informationsdisk. Den här utvärderingen har utgått från tre huvudsakliga frågeställningar: [1] Hur når information om uppdateringar i mjukvara personalen i informationsdisken? [2] Hur når information om uppdateringar i hårdvara personalen i informationsdisken? [3] Hur ser personalen i informationsdisken och de ansvariga pådessa tillvägagångssätt och kan förbättringar göras? Intervjuer har gjorts med tre bibliotekarier och tre ansvariga inom IT-området.Utvärderingen visar att samtliga intervjuade bibliotekarier efterfrågar mer information kring förändringar i IT. En del i detta är ett behov av att ha tillgång till en IT-tekniker i huset i högre grad än vad som erbjuds för närvarande.

The aim with this independent degree project of master thesis is to find what the user opinions of the intranet in a county council is. The paper seeks how the question about how the culture in the organisation was affected by the use of the intranet. An important part is to explore the expectations and acceptance of the intranet and get a picture of which functions and services support day-to-day work with good quality. One goal is to find out how the intranet users feel that the communication, information and usability can be developed.The focus group interview is a qualitative method that has been applied for gathering data from the respondents, who participate in the investigation from the county council. The used method is unstructured focus groups containing the three dominating categories of staff in the county council.
