The aim of this thesis is to assess the strategic importance of Central Asia as a whole and interests of great powers in the region in particular within the theoretical framework chosen. The work shows Central Asia as an area of the New Great Game, analogue of the original Great Game which was played out between the British Empire and Tsarist Russia in XIX century. The parallels between the original Great Game and the New Great Game are drawn in order to understand the scope and the true intentions of the players of the latter one. Also, the security issues in the contemporary Central Asia are explored and analyzed to provide with the background for future predictions. Furthermore, the indirect purpose of the thesis is to examine whether the international system has changed from that of two centuries ago by comparing the structure of the international systems at the time of two Games.

 Prostitution has been intensely debated in Sweden for nearly four decades. Two major investigations have so far been initiated by the government and numerous propositions have been put forward in the Swedish parliament resulting in the sexköpslag from 1999 that criminalizes purchase of sexual services. The law aims at punishing the buyer and protecting the women in prostitution, thus making it possible for women to be helped by various social interventions rather than punished. Swedish society has undergone major changes in these decades. Globalization, the internet and the membership in the EU have changed the Swedish society and influenced the discourse on prostitution.This paper has a twofold aim, on the one hand investigating if and how these changes have had an impact on the prostitution discourse in texts produced by the government and analyze how female and male sexuality in connection to prostitution is constructed.

The subject of this paper is to examine the view of diversity among ten teachers and three principals in the Swedish compulsory school. The purpose is to investigate how they relate to the diversity and in what ways it is involved in their work.The French sociologist Pierre Bourdieus basic ideas of habitus, capital and field are used as a theoretical starting point. The study is mainly based on interviews supported by literature in the subject area.The findings show that diversity is associated with ethnicity among all informants. The drawn conclusion is that this is partly due to the mediated picture but also since ethnicity mainly serves as a starting point in the literature..

PURPOSE: To find out how identity creating and community utter within the Black Metal culture, to get an insight of why people are drawn to Black Metal, and what function it fills to the adherents/practicians.METHOD: Analyses of interviews done by the authors. The purpose with this thesis work was to design and build a technical aid for installingbatteries in telecom base stations. Today that job is done manually, since there is noequipment on the market for that purpose. Installing batteries in base stations manually isa very tough job.To get ideas for possible solutions a preliminary study on existing lift aids was done.From the preliminary study the conclusion that some kind of overhead crane would besuitable for the task was drawn. After that a lift for installing batteries in base stationswas designed, built and tested. The tests show that it is possible to minimize heavy liftingwhen installing batteries in telecom base stations, at a relatively low cost.ii.

Vi undrar om skillnaden mellan stadsförskolors verksamhet och landsortsförskolors verksamhet är synlig genom deras arbetsplan. Påverkas förskolans verksamhet och förskollärarnas arbetssätt av det geografiska läget?Genom att göra intervjuer med förskollärarna kan vi se om deras metoder går hand i hand med deras lokala arbetsplaner. Med en sammanställning av de aktuella förskolornas arbetsplaner har vi gjort likheter och skillnader mellan stadsförskolor och landsortsförskolor synliga.Undersökningens resulterade inte som vi förväntat oss.

Många välgörenhetsorganisationer har idag second hand-butiker knutna till sin verksamhet som ett sätt att omvandla gåvor till likvida medel som doneras till välgörande ändamål. Detta innebär att organisationerna måste arbeta aktivt med sin varumärkesidentitet för att kunna särskilja sig från andra aktörer på marknaden. Författarna till denna uppsats har försökt klargöra varumärkesidentiteten hos Röda Korsets mötesplats Kupan som bedriver försäljning av second hand. Inom teorier och tidigare forskning betonar man vikten av att varumärkesinnehavare måste veta vad som kännetecknar deras varumärke och vad det skall förmedla, annars finns risken att konsumenterna får svårt att bilda en tydlig uppfattning utav varumärket. Det önskade scenariot är att varumärkesinnehavaren och konsumentmarknaden skall uppfatta varumärket likadant.

pcSKOG-gård is a computerised manager plan for private forest owners, developed by the pcSKOG AB. The program is based on forest stand data, joined with a map of the forest and GIS-applications. The purpose is to offer a program for private forest owners managing the forest and with the possibility of updating the actual status of the forest. The company pcSKOG AB is the leading producer of programs for forest management and has developed the program since 1997. The program is currently the most common program used by private forest owners in Sweden. The aim of this thesis, leading to MSc in forestry, is to investigate the purpose of the private forest owners when purchasing the pcSKOG-gård. The thesis also studies how private forest owners use the program, what they use it for and how the private forest owners state that the program has achieved to fulfil their expectations. The thesis is also a market research concerning the knowledge and attitudes the private forest owners have about the program and associated services. The study material has been collected during two phases.

Begreppet livssituation är stort och kan omfatta många företeelser. Syftet med denna undersökning var att belysa hur livssituationen för föräldrar med hemmaboende vuxna utvecklingsstörda barn har förändrats när dessa har flyttat hemifrån. Som anhörig kan man vara både avlönad och oavlönad anhörigvårdare, men i den här studien är de i första hand föräldrar och i andra hand anhörigvårdare anser informanterna. I studien har åtta personer intervjuats och deras barn har olika grader av utvecklingsstörning och har flyttat till eget boende för ett antal år sedan. Deltagarna har mycket tydligt beskrivit hur livssituationen hade förändrats från att de har varit styrda av klockan, inte fått sova en hel natt till att de kan bestämma över sin tid och kan slappna av när de ser att deras vuxna utvecklingsstörda barn har det bra.

AbstractRelationships between white women and black men have become a topic of interest in various discussion forums. By examining different arguments within certain discourses, it becomes clear that discourses that have a distinct autocrat outline, i.e. a closed and declaring nature which excludes alternative discursive arguments, also define these relationships as different and deviant in comparison to relationships that does not encompass and include the constellation white women and black men. As a result of the use of autocrat discourses the white women and black men who enter into relationships are displaced and positioned as subaltern. A position which, on the one hand, allows for uninhibited criticism, but, on the other hand, and most importantly, it is a position from where they can be defined by others.

The aim of this report is to create an easily accessible guide to basic hygiene, cleaning and disinfection within the small animal practice. It is based on a literature study, using mainly research from the public health sector, due to the lack of relevant scientific reports within the veterinary field. To prevent the spread of infectious diseases it is important that the staff understands the importance of basic hygiene. Hand hygiene and disinfection and cleaning with water and detergent combined are the most important routines to prevent spreading of disease. In conclusion the differences between the veterinary and the public health sector are small, but some basic differences exist due to the nature of the patient?s needs.

This is a qualitative social psychology study, which aims to describe how mothers with 1-2 year old children develop their identities, seen from Symbolic Interactionistic perspective. Five young mothers have been interviewed, through qualitative interviews and self reports. Through this data I have attempted to establish how these women develop their identities when they have been mothers for 1 or 2 years. The conclusions I have drawn is that the identities change radically with becoming a mother and all respondents take different decisions outfrom their identities as mother. There seems to exist a need of more knowledge about how to bring the identity of a woman and a mother together and create a new entity.

Detta projekt, i kursen Examensarbete i teknisk design, produktionsdesign vid Luleå tekniska universitet, har utförts på Scania CV AB i Södertälje mellan januari och juni 2014. Utöver denna rapport presenterades projektet både vid Luleå tekniska universitet och vid Scania CV AB. Fokus i arbetet var att ta fram en metod för riskbedömning avseende hand- och armvibrationer hos handhållna verktyg som är anpassad för Scanias produktionsverksamhet i Sverige. Målet var att Scania på ett enhetligt sätt ska ha kontroll över vibrationsexponeringen som arbetstagarna utsätts för, i enlighet med kraven från Arbetsmiljöverkets föreskrift, AFS 2005:15 ? Vibrationer, där insats- och gränsvärdet är 2,5 m/s2 respektive 5,0 m/s2.
