The municipality of Falkenberg is a result of a unification of several smaller municipalities in 1971, each one with a small library. This left Falkenberg with an unusual large amount of smaller branch libraries. The object of this thesis is to describe and try to understand the political conflicts that have erupted during the period 1971-1994. Through a case study containing press clippings from the local newspaper, different reports, political meeting protocols, a historical background of the library and a study of library specific norms and regulations I can create an image of the heated debate. The participants in this debate can be divided into politicians and civil servants and the conflict circles round the fact that from an economical perspective, there is not enough budget to keep all the small, local libraries.

En kvalitativ undersökning av hur de största svenska tidningarna rapporterade om Michael Jacksons död. Genom en innehållsanalys och intervjuer med journalister kartläggs det första dygnet efter stjärnans bortgång för att se hur nöjesjournalister bemöter nyheter genom att undersöka vilka källor man använde och vad man valde att publicera på webben och i pappret. Detta görs genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av mediamaterialet samt strukturerade intervjuer med journalisterna som jobbade under det valda dygnet. Centralt för uppsatsen är hur journalister på Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Aftonbladet och Expressen ställer sig till kändissajten TMZ och hur de värderar sajten som källa. Den teoretiska bakgrunden utgörs av studier i medieetik, källkritik och kändiskultur.

In January of 2014 a newly founded company held a press conference in central Stockholm. The purpose of the conference was to inform about Lexbase, the largest database on the Internet with legal information about the Swedish general public. The aim of this particular paper is to use news reports about Lexbase as material to identify the theses and their types presented in Swedish newspapers, and to examine the ideology constructed and presented by the theses in the said news reports. By analyzing elements of different opinions in the debate from daily press, a wide range of aspects concerning the issues of free abortion have been distinguishable. This analysis shows that the abortion debate was, to a high degree, a question of Realpolitik and ideology whereas the differences over time have been visible rather than the differences between parties of varying opinion. By applying the theories of Ian Hacking concerning the effects of categorization, ideas surrounding people and society among others, have been highlighted in the debate. In 1964 we see ideas about the woman as motherly or a victim and the society as defective or exposed among other factors.

VikingGenetics is one of the world's largest breeding companies. 2008 was launched two new products, X-Vik and GenVik. Now VikingGenetics want to get information about the effects of the marketing. We have investigated the differences in knowledge and use of the products between different livestock associations, size of herd and farmers' breeding interests. The power of news media to shape public opinion has been widely researched and acknowledged. In the globalized world of today, media representations of different ethnic groups therefore contribute to social segregation or desegregation. This thesis investigates how Spanish news media frame Spain?s most numerous minority of non-European ethnicity: the Moroccans. Using a quantitative content analysis, we have analysed about 200 news articles in the two most read Spanish online newspapers, El País and El Mundo, published during a two-year period, 2010-2012.

Den industrialiserade världen har de senaste årtiondena genomgått förändringar vilket har bidragit till att en ny tidsperiod uppkommit. Tidsperioden benämns enligt forskaren Arnett (2007) som Emerging Adulthood och har den svenska översättningen vuxenblivande. Perioden sträcker sig mellan åren 18-25. Stress är en känsla av press som för stunden inte är hanterbar och stressnivån har under de senaste åren ökat markant hos gymnasieelever. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om vuxenblivande samt stress skiljer hos elever som läser ett yrkesförberedande respektive ett högskoleförberedande program.

Uppsatsen undersöker konstruktionen av femininitet och kvinnors kroppar i diskussioner kring kvinnors kroppshår på internetforumet Flashback. Materialet som undersöks är knappt 1000 kommentarer från 14 olika forumtrådar där kvinnors kroppshår är det centrala ämnet. Med diskursanalys som metod undersöks hur femininitetsnormer påverkar konstruktionen av kvinnors identitet i relation till kroppshår. Detta förklaras sedan utifrån sociologiska och genusvetenskapliga teorier om kön, kropp, social kontroll och identitetsskapande. Resultatet visar att kroppshår på kvinnors kroppar oftast benämns som antingen önskvärt eller inte önskvärt.

Mäns hot och våld mot kvinnor är ett allvarligt samhällsproblem. Syftet med studien var att utifrån aktuell forskning belysa faktorer som har betydelse i mötet mellan vårdpersonal och den våldsutsatta kvinnan. Metoden som har användts var en litteraturöversikt. Vetenskapliga artiklar söktes i databaserna Cinahl, Medline, HighWire press, samt psyk INFO. Resultatet består av 12 vetenskapliga artiklar publicerade mellan 1996-2007 .

The aim of this study is to find out whether there is any difference to be found in the attention ability before and after physical activity. The method used in this study was made of an experimental design. The participants were chosen through a cluster sampling and thereafter divided into a control group and an experimental group. A total of 64 pupils from upper secondary school participated in the study, 25 of them in the experimental group and 39 of them in the control group. Since the measure was repeated, both in respect of time and the comparison between the groups, a mixed design was used.

Baled silage has become one of the most important conservation methods in Sweden. Because we take our grass as silage we get the quality and the good hygenic that we would like to have. Silage has become a big buisiness also in the horse feeding where many of the breeders have changed from the hay to the hay-silage. The difference between regular silage and haysilage is that the hay silage is dryer (60-70%DM). The hay-silage has also put higher demands on machinery and wrapping material since the grass gets sharper and harder to press together real hard. The main reason for the test was to compare two different systems for wrapping, the new Cross Pac and conventional.
