News value is an essential part of which event media chooses to report about. Political events consider to bee news with potentional large value. Media has an enormous power and possibility to create news and construct there own reality and where the readers is given a false expression of what really happened. Today the media must show profit and that indirect affects how the media choose to describe political events. In the Kenya case is it therefore possible to draw the conclusion that the two news paper has different construction of the political event in Kenya.

Det finns ett behov av personer som klarar av att generera en mängd fräscha, slitstarka och kreativa idéer under press. Denna undersökning omfattar hur mångsidiga Art directors kan arbeta för att framställa och producera material som håller hög standard. Fyra Art directors har intervjuats och givit sin åsikt i ämnet. Utifrån resultaten av intervjuerna och en mängd kreativa tekniker har vi utfört en grundläggande idéprocess. Resultatet av denna process är en konstutställning där vi har skapat ett koncept med fokus på miljö och framtid. - There is a need for people who can generate a large amount of fresh, durable and creative idéas under pressure. This investigation concerns how versatile Art directors work to manufacture and produce material of high standards. Four Art directors have been interviewed and given us their opinion on the subject.

Gunsta is situated about 10 km east of Uppsala. Today there are plans to establish 1000 new households in Gunsta before year 2030. The required energy for heating houses and water would be distributed via a district heating system, which also includes 200 existing residences. The annual required energy, according to this study, would be 16.2 GWh with a maximal peak effect of 6.9 MW. To meet this need, the study suggests a system with heat pumps to upgrade the 31?C water from a 1.8 kilometre deep borehole.

AbstractFöreliggande arbete diskuterar ghanianska tidningar ur ett demokratiskt perspektiv. Genom att konstruera en idealmodell för hur dessa tidningar bör se ut i ?den bästa av alla demokratier? beskrivs hur verkligheten bör förhålla sig till ett ideal. Denna modell prövas sedan, genom en kvantitativ textanalytisk metod, på ett empiriskt material som består av artiklar från fem olika ghanianska tidningar. Utifrån dessa artiklar är syftet sedan att undersöka till vilken grad de ghanianska tidningarna lever upp till det utvalda demokratiska idealet.

In the two years 1994 and 2013 the focus of the Swedish media in the school debate has been on segregation, freedom of choice, and support for weak students. In 2013 while the media was still united on the above issues the overall emphasis is on profitability. In 1994 the focus was more on weak students who in 2013 are considered unprofitable.The purpose of this essay is to study the Swedish media and their debate on Swedish schools and witch concepts related to "one school that fits all" in the year 1994 and also in 2013.We have analysed related articles and their concepts, norms, and values to see if there are any differences between their focus on the said issues in the two years.We have also studied the ideas and concepts that came under scrutiny and discussion in these two years, and shall investigate if there are differences in the debates conducted in 1994 and those conducted in 2013..

Imagery is an individual and cognitive process (Morris, Spittle, & Watt, 2005). This study has therefore qualitatively examined following objectives: (1) elite powerlifters imagery experiences and (2) if elite powerlifters use imagery deliberately. Five elite powerlifters participated in the study (3 men, 2 women), they were 21-37 years old (M = 27.6; SD = 6.1). The Individual Profile of Imagery Experiences in Sport (IPIES; Weibull, 2008b) was modified and used to meet the objectives for the study. Imagery was used by all elite powerlifters.

Rapporten beskriver ett examensarbete på 10 poäng som har genomförts av Moa Jantze, möbeldesignstuderande på Carl Malmsten Centrum för Träteknik och Design vid Linköpings Universitet. Rapporten består i huvudsak av två olika moment. Det första som beskriver skånska allmogemöbler och -textilier ur ett historiskt perspektiv och den andra som beskriver arbetet med att ta fram två produkter med inspiration ur allmogen. Projektets bakgrund är ett möbelprojekt som engagerat mig under hösten 2004, där jag tog fram en gungstol som presenterades i Malmstens monter på möbelmässan 2005. Gungstolen fick mycket uppmärksamhet både i svensk och internationell press och därmed väcktes ett större intresse för historien och mitt ursprung.

Stålindustrin förser såväl människor som samhället med många nödvändiga byggstenar. I Sverige finns tolv ståltillverkande anläggningar och hela 80 % av stålet exporteras. Som alla andra tillverkande industrier har den flera miljöaspekter att ta hänsyn till, men stålets nytta väger tungt och därför är det av stor vikt att genom forskningsprojektet Stålkretsloppet nå hållbar utveckling. Miljöskyddslagen, miljöbalken och ett ökande miljöengagemang har lett till arbete med miljöfrågor. Syftet med den här studien var att undersöka hur allmänhetens riskperception, attityd och oro gentemot stålindustrin ser ut.

I denna medievetenskapliga uppsats har vi riktat vår uppmärksamhet mot den svenska musikjournalistiken och utifrån ett genusperspektiv undersökt vilka kvinnobilder som manifesteras och hur dessa förändrats över tid. Anslaget har varit hermeneutiskt då vi valt att genomföra en komparativ kvalitativ innehållsanalys av de två musikmagasinen Pop och Sonic där tidsspannet varit nio år. Analysen har visat på en skev genusrepresentation där kvinnan marginaliseras från en manligt könad musikbransch och förvägras den manliga friheten då hon förpassas till den privata sfären. Även om kvinnan på senare år tillmätts ett större utrymme i musikmagasinen så uppvägs detta genom att hennes prestationer förringas i gestaltningen. Sammanfattningsvis har vi att göra med en androcentrisk musikjournalistik som reproducerar en hegemoni där mannen blir till norm och kvinnan får nöja sig med en närvaro där hennes framgång är beroende av mannen.Kvinnobilder i förändr.

Tidigare forskning pekar pa? att socialt sto?d spelar en betydande roll fo?r minskad prestationsa?ngest i studier, samt att tidspress ger en o?kad effekt. Underso?kningen hade 151 manliga studenter fra?n tva? olika program pa? en ho?gskola.

The aim of this thesis is to study different aspects of the public libraries' investment in public access computers connected to the Internet. What level of accessibility can be found at the surveyed libraries concerning the number of computers open to the public, as well as chat and email services? What activities have been taking place with the computers in focus, and what have the goals of these activities been? Is there any control of content, and what aspects of the Internet are, if that is the case, subject to censorship. And how do the governmental policies relate to the surveyed libraries' intentions and activities regarding the Internet? In order to answer these questions, each main library in the 42 largest towns of Sweden was surveyed response rate: 100 %.

On December 20, 2001, the Swedish citizen Mehdi Ghezali was captured on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ghezali spent the following 930 days in U.S. captivity, without being charged with any crime. My aim in this essay is to analyze how Ghezali was portrayed in three Swedish newspapers under and after his captivity, two nationwide and one local newspaper based in Ghezali's hometown. My purpose is to see whether Ghezali's identity is constructed differently in the three newspapers, as regards The Other, Stereotypization, etc.

This paper aims to give an account of, and to discuss the view-points and theories of different researchers on the christianization of Sweden, especially the province of Öland, during the early middle ages. Its purpose is to investigate how, and in what sense, their positions can be said to correspond to what we may know of the historical ?facts?. This will be possible by comparing different points of view with a study of the development in a single parish. An overall difficulty however, is the nature of the sources relating to the time in question, they are scarce or even non-existent.Part I of the paper consists of an outline of the field of research and the different theories put forward on the subject.

Hur förändrades de gestaltningar som används i svensk press om klimatfrågan efter FN:s klimatmöte i Köpenhamn i november 2009, en tid som omsusades av den så kallade Climategate-skandalen, jämfört med samma månad året innan och året efter? Gestaltningsteori är en teori som används primärt av forskare inom medie- och kommunikationsvetenskaperna för att studera hur människor förstår sin omgivning och samspelar med andra människor. Gestaltningar är ?tolkningsscheman? som individer använder för att tolka, förmedla och förstå budskap. Med kvalitativ textanalys metod har vi analyserat gestaltningar i journalistiska texter som handlar om klimatfrågan.
