Att kommunicera miljöarbete : En fallstudie i miljökommunikation på två Svanenmärkta hotell
Svanen är en av världens ledande miljömärkningar och firade nyligen 20 års jubileum. Det har under ett antal år varit möjligt att förutom produkter även svanenmärka tjänster och verksamheter, så som exempelvis restauranger och hotell. För att miljöarbetet inom en verksamhet ska fungera så bra som möjligt är kommunikationen i denna av yttersta vikt. Det har inte utförts några kända studier kring hur kommunikationen på Svanenmärkta hotell fungerar vilket är motivet bakom denna studie. Det finns en misstänksamhet i samhället mot miljömärkta varor och greenwashing har blivit ett allt vanligare begrepp, vilket innebär att företag utnyttjar miljömärkningar för att få ett bättre anseende på marknaden och inte för att egentligen gynna miljön.
Folkbibliotekariers uppfattning om personlig integritet i biblioteksverksamheten: En fenomenografisk studie
The purpose of this masters? thesis is to investigate how public librarians perceive privacy in connection with new technology in libraries. The main research questions are: - How do librarians experience the phenomenon privacy in the library?- How do librarians experience the relation between privacy and technology in the library?- What does this say about the relationship between privacy, technological development and library work?The study was performed with a phenomenographic methodological approach. The material consists of qualitative interviews with eight librarians who work at public libraries where the technology RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) has been implemented.

Städernas gator har länge utformats utifrån bilisternas behov. Men tiderna
har ändrats och idag är det allt vanligare att gatumiljöer utformas för att främja
cyklister och fotgängare. Det beror delvis på vår strävan efter ett hållbart samhälle. I
detta examensarbete kombineras två aspekter som bidrar till ett hållbart samhälle:
hållbar dagvattenhantering i gatumiljöer och goda fotgängarmiljöer. Syftet är dels
att undersöka hur hållbar dagvattenhantering kan användas för att utforma en gata
som är inbjudande för fotgängare och dels att undersöka hur dagvattnets estetiska
egenskaper kan lyftas fram på ett hållbart sätt längs en gata.
Analys och gestaltning av miljön kring vattentornet i Uppsalas stadsskog
The water tower in Uppsala city forest was built in the late 1950's in what is now a nature reserve. The unique place was supposed to be visited by people, which is currently not the situation. This bachelor thesis aimed to perform an analysis and make a design proposal for the environment surrounding the water tower. The analysis was performed using the methodology previously described by architect Arne Branzell. The methodology focuses on how a space is perceived by a person moving through it.

In EU and Sweden objectives have been set to ensure that the energy consumption decreases by 20% year 2020 and by 50% year 2050 compared with the energy consumption levels of year 1995.
Kvalitetssäkring av Clas Ohlson AB´s grafiska produktionsflöde
The question formulation in the essay brought up whether Clas Ohlson works today with their graphical productionflow and if that way of working leads to a desirable result in press. After a dialogue with Clas Ohlson it emerged thatthey had certain problems with the material that came out of the printing presses. Certain colours were not reproducedaccording to the stated values that had been developed. In March -08 an analysis of the graphical production flowspresent situation were done at Clas Ohlsons in order to find out how they worked with their production of print materials.In the analysis, their way to work with color spaces, displays, ICC-profiles, PDF-exports, pictures and printerswere examined. Occasional interviews were also implemented with responsible personnel about how they worked withdifferent aspects.Deficiencies were found on almost all examined parts in their graphical production flow.
Hållbar utveckling i fyra svenska storföretag : en studie av definitioner, förhållningssätt och socialt ansvar
I denna studie har fyra svenska storföretag studerats med avseende på hur de definierar begreppet hållbar utveckling, hur deras förhållningssätt är till hållbar utveckling samt hur de arbetar med socialt ansvar, även kallat samhällsansvar i ett vidare perspektiv. De intervjuade företagen är Volvo Lastvagnar, Skanska, Tetra Pak och Green Cargo. Studien är baserad på intervjuer via telefon med företagens miljöchefer, dessutom har företagens hållbarhetsredovisningar studerats. Studien belyser definitionen hållbar utveckling och pekar på att det finns många olika tolkningar av begreppet. Slutsatserna från intervjuerna och det studerade materialet är dock att företagen utgår från det grundläggande dokumentet från Brundtlandkommissionen.

The public function of art can be understood as a defense of the ideals of democracy. But today, when political power is often replaced by hegemony, the role of art and functions are changing. How these changes reflect to the identity, reality and truth of society? What political functions are fulfilled when art becomes ?public?? The issue of democracy is linked question of people?s power in a democratic society where power is legitimized in social space.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze and show possibilities how a city can grow into the scenery of a oak dominated landscape and how this encounter can add values to the city.
The city in focus is Linköping, a city that is approaching one of Sweden?s largest oak dominated cultural landscapes. To this landscape high ecological and cultural values are connected. The recreational values are also of importance especially because of its urban location also because the city is mainly surrounded by flat agricultural land.

The aim of this bachelor?s thesis is to investigate how the activities of the public library are portrayed by the Swedish press. It poses the following questions: What kinds of public library activities are portrayed in the Swedish press? What image does this depiction purvey to the general public about the societal role of public libraries?A model of four library spaces developed by Skot-Hansen, Hvenegaard Rasmussen, and Jochumsen is used as the theoretical framework for this study. Qualitative content analysis is applied to 173 Swedish newspaper articles that describe public library activities.The analysis reveals that articles about many kinds of public library activities get published in the Swedish press, but that some activities occur more frequently than others.

»Does it have to be so green?« is a visual communication project focused on packaging design. I attempted to challenge the clichés of graphic design for organic products and designed a packaging concept for a fictional food brand. The project had a special objec¬tive which was to explore ways to use the package as carrier for in¬formation about the enviromental impact of the packaging itself.The process included research about packaging design and its ef¬fect on the consumer, an investigation of the Swedish market for organic foods, creating and defining a brand, and designing a cohe¬rent packaging concept for a product line which communicates the brand?s values and appeals to the intended target group.The project resulted in prototypes for a muesli package, tea car¬ton and honey jar, as well as a manual that explains the application of the graphic program..
