The purpose of this study is to investigate how students in a Swedishjunior high school (grade 7-9) view their possibility to participate in thecollection management of their school library, and how the schoollibrary works to involve the students when purchasing media. The studyhas resulted in a model for easy and effective involvement of studentsin the collection development.To achieve this aim both quantitative and qualitative methods are used.A survey in three classes in the school, observations at the schoollibrary and a qualitative interview with the library assistant have beenperformed. The collection management at the school library isdescribed using the School Library Taxonomies developed by DavidLoertscher and two models for participation developed by Roger A Hartand Harry Shier. In the survey, the students are asked about their libraryand reading habits, their perception of their own participation in thecollection management of the library and their opinions of theimportance of student participation in the library.The results show that all students view the possibility of participation as something important, but not all of the students are willing to be active themselves. The proposed model for effective involvement of students in the library focuses on simplicity, voluntariness, distinct information and visible results..

Many are those who spend hour after hour running over green hills swimming in vast blue oceans in the lands of Azeroth, the playfield in the MMORPG game World of Warcraft. In media we often read and hear alarming reports on players stuck in this virtual world, ceasing to play a part in the real world.

Hållbar utveckling delas upp i tre områden, ekologisk hållbarhet, social hållbarhet och ekonomisk hållbarhet. Dessa tre kompletterar och stödjer varandra. Grön Flagg är ett verktyg som är till stor hjälp för pedagoger på olika nivåer inom förskolan och skolan för att öka barnens förståelse för sambandet mellan naturen och ett hållbart samhälle i framtiden. Målet med min undersökning var att ta reda på hur förskolorna arbetar med Grön Flagg.Rapporten handlar om hur erfarna pedagoger hjälper barn i förskoleåldern förstå naturens möjligheter genom lek och övningar, samt förstå sambandet mellan naturen och ett hållbart samhälle..

Background: Pesticides in conventional food may be related to morbidity and mortality. Furthermore pesticides have a negative impact on the whole ecosystem. Organic food can presume better health as they contain less chemicals and toxins and contribute to sustainable development efforts.Objective: The aim was to examine what attitudes consumers have regarding to purchase organic fruit, vegetables and root vegetables.Methods: The association between consumers? views on conventional food and organic food was investigated using questionnaire given to a population sample of men and women aged by 23-65 (N=60) in grocery stores and in a fitness center. The study was based on a cross-sectional study in a municipality in central Sweden.Results: Consumers were interested to buy organic food.

Thesis: The aim of our study is to identify how IKEA's externalestablishment at Norra Backa can affect Kupolen and the centre. This in order to provide suggestions on how these trade areas can be connected and create a whole to thereby gain the purchasing power.Method: In our study we used triangulation. That means we have used both a quantitative and a qualitative approach. The quantitative method based on a survey with 100 respondents. The qualitative method is based on interviews with the centre conductors of Borlänge, Laila G Prosén and Anna Timander.Theory: The theories we have used is STP, substitution effects and effects of overspill, important factors for an attractive market town, Town Centre Management, Urban Retail Product.Conclusion: We found how IKEA's establishment at Norra Backa may affect Kupolen and the center of Borlänge then we gave suggestions on how these trade areas can be connected..

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att prova ut en teknik för att testa effekten av vanadinföreningar på två olika celltyper: adherenta celler (AA-celler) och suspensionsceller (K562-celler). När insulinet binder till sin receptor på cellytan är det starten på en biologisk respons. Insulinreceptorn är ett tyrosinkinas som transporterar fosfatgrupper från ATP till tyrosin på sin egen peptidkedja. The construction of buildings and paved surfaces changes the natural water balance.Precipitation generates surface runoff and storm water instead of infiltrating into the soil.Storm water has come to be considered as a major source of pollution in lakes and streams inthe vicinity of urban areas. Reduction of pollutants in storm water is a key action in order toprotect sensitive recipients and maintain high water quality. Storm water is traditionallytransported by storm sewers to the nearest recipient. In recent years the approach to stormwater management has changed; storm water should primarily be disposed of on site, throughlocal disposal of storm water, LOD. LOD is created by a combination of the function ofseveral smaller local facilities and the general sewer system.

The aim of this study was to shed light on the phenomenon of sex purchase amongst men from the perspective of professionals working at KAST*. Our main research questions concerned who the sex-purchasing men are, what their incentives are and furthermore how the professionals depict their work with these clients. In order to examine this we conducted three qualitative research interviews. The theoretical framework used to examine our results consisted of social constructivism and professional acting space. Main results show, contrary to research, that the ?typical? sex buyer does not exist, nor do specific motives.

Green Cargo är den största aktören för godstransporter på järnväg i Sverige. Dotterbolaget Road&Logistics erbjuder kombinerade transporter bestående av järnväg och lastbil. Järnvägen utnyttjas för de långväga transporterna och lastbilarna för slingtrafiken. Med hjälp av crossdockingterminaler samlastas även gods från olika lastbärare till en enhet. Detta för att optimera kapacitetsutnyttjandet, vilket ger synergieffekter i form av miljövinster och sänkta kostnader.

The aim of this thesis is to describe the customer?s attitudes toward the contracting for availability, i.e., which factors are from the customer?s perspective necessary for the fulfilment of a supplier-customer agreement? Furthermore, the objective is to describe and analyse a supplier-customer relation in the Defence Industrial sphere.The present study has been carried out as a case study using an abductive approach. The thesis is based on a practical problem, i.e. which factors will be important to the customer when a contractor in the Defence Industry wants to increase its commitment of service, and how will their relationship change? The thesis is above all focused on generating knowledge that can lead to rapid and concrete measures and that can be used in the analysis of an increased industrial commitment but also as a case study of a problem of a more general nature in the Defence Industry.

Fastighetsmarknaden har visat på ett växande behov av ett hjälpmedel för fastighetsvärderaresom underlättar implementeringen av byggnaders gröna egenskaper i värderingsprocessen,samt för att investerare ska kunna se specifika gröna egenskapers effekt på fastighetsvärdet.Användningen av ett flertal olika miljöklassningssystem på marknaden skapar svårigheter vidjämförelse. RICS har tagit fram ett utkast på en hållbarhetschecklista för att kompletteravärderingsutlåtandet med en utökad beskrivning av fastigheterna med en systematiskredovisning av egenskaper relevanta ur ett hållbarhetsperspektiv. Dess syfte är att tydliggöraskillnader och öka utbudet av tillgänglig transaktionsdata med en påföljande ökad transparenspå fastighetsmarknaden.Studien syftar till att undersöka hur en hållbarhetschecklista kan tas fram, se ut och fungera,samt om den kan implementeras i ett projekt för en samhällsfastighet. Genom att använda migav utkastet från RICS och intervjua aktörer på fastighetsmarknaden har en lista tagits framsom jämförts med miljöklassningssystemen och implementerats på ett specifikt projekt.Utfallet har sedan analyserats och legat till grund för de slutsatser som dragits.Resultatet av studien visar att den lista som utgår från RICS ?Sustainability Checklist? medrelevanta hållbarhetsaspekter kan implementeras även på samhällsfastigheter då dessa inneharliknande egenskaper som de kommersiella fastigheterna, med vissa skillnader, somövergripande beror av: budgetrestriktioner, lokala förhållanden samt regleringar frånkommunen och övriga parter.

 This report is an evaluation of Peab's purchase and call-off system, PIA.PIA is used to order goods for Peab's construction sites. The background to the work is that users of the system have understood the system cumbersome to use when purchasing goods for construction sites. The evaluation was carried out by the interviews and tests with users of the program, in this case, supervisors and site managers at the company. Ten users of the system were interviewed and eleven people have carried out a test order.The focus is primarily on the test order that users have implemented, which has been clocked and analyzed for time and cost. The evaluation is also a user analysis concerning how the users perceive the program, mainly in terms of usability, functionality and benefits.The result of this report shows that PIA is economically profitable to use for the purchase of goods for construction sites.

Gastric ulcer is a common disease among pigs in the whole world where an intensiveproduction occurs. It is mainly the upper region, the nonglandular region of the stomach thatis affected. Gastric ulceration is a disease with several risk factors. The factor that seems tohave the largest impact on the development of gastric ulceration is a small particle size of thefeed. The reported prevalence of gastric ulceration differs from 5 to 100 % and it is a largeherd-to-herd variation.

Problembakgrund: Transportsektorn och framförallt vägtransporter är den enskilt störstaproblemområdet med avseende på kolidioxidutsläpp i världen. Förändringsåtgärderna somhittills har gjorts inom sektorn är otillräckliga, främst eftersom det totala antalet transporterfortfarande ökar. Företag, främst industriländerna, har under de senaste decennierna börjatintegrera miljömål i sina företagsstrategier. Det statliga transport- och logistikföretaget GreenCargo bildades år 2001 och samma år införde företaget ett balanserat styrkort med integrerademiljömål. Meningen var att arbetarna skulle känna sig mer delaktiga och se att det går attpåverka utfallen.

Syftet med min kandidatuppsats är att undersöka hur föreställningar om kön kommer till uttryck i barnlitteratur och på vilka sätt barnböckerna förhåller sig till traditionella normer och värderingar gällande kön och könsroller.Med utgångspunkt i fem populära barnböcker undersöks följande frågeställningar:Vilka roller tar personerna i boken och hur förhåller sig dessa roller till traditionella föreställningar om vad som är kvinnligt respektive manligt?Vad gör personerna i boken som kan tolkas som stereotypt respektive normbrytande?Vilka identiteter har personerna i boken, hur ser de ut, vad har de för kläder, leksaker och färger runt sig?Avslutningsvis kommer jag också att jämföra barnböckerna och diskutera likheter, skillnader, övergripande mönster, samt diskutera möjliga förklaringar till varför det ser ut som det gör..
