A uniform environmental rating system for green buildings is demanded in today's society, where the requirements of the energy consumption for real estate are increasing. There are several different systems around the world used to rate buildings, all with different assessment criteria and starting points, which make it difficult to compare environmental rated buildings with each other.The purpose of this paper is to acquire knowledge about the differences between the Swedish environmental rating system Miljöklassad Byggnad and the American LEED, to discover which system is most advantageous. We also examine whether environmental rating affect the value of a property.Miljöklassad Byggnad is relatively simple structured, which makes it possible for private individuals to rate their property. LEED is better structured on the other hand in the case of environmental classification of commercial properties, because there are manuals for among others hospitals, schools and retail. The rating system for Miljöklassad Byggnad is good since the system seeks to fix the number of errors and deficiencies as soon as possible.

LKAB deltar i ett forskningsprojekt som går under namnet ULCOS (Ultra Low CO2 Steelmaking), där det övergripande målet är att minska koldioxidutsläppen med 50% vid stålframställningen. Inom ULCOS innebär ett av delprojekten att chargera delvis reducerad pellets (LRI, Less Reduced Iron) i masugnen. LRI är en produkt som är delvis reducerad till en metalliseringsgrad på ca 65%. I denna studie används nio olika typer av pellets för LRI framställning. Dessa är KPBO, KPRS, MPBO, KPBA, HYL samt fyra nya pelletprodukter som framställs från filtrerad KPC slig i pot furnace anläggningen vid CK-laboratoriet i Malmberget.

This report is the result of a thesis work carried out on the Risifrutti production at the company Procordia Food AB. The thesis is at a master level and is the final work for the author to receive a Master of Science in Innovative production at Mälardalen University. The thesis comprises 30 credits and has lasted for 18 weeks. The thesis is mainly a research on whether it is possible to perform an Environmental Value Stream Map (E-VSM) in a food processing industry and an evaluation if the tools E-VSM and Green Performance Map (GPM) are useful in this type of industry. An extra part to this research is to use the results from the E-VSM and give Procordia Food AB information on improvement potentials in the Risifrutti production. The author has found it difficult to collect some of the quantitative data to the E-VSM, mainly regarding energy, but by using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool and other Lean tools the author was able to identify and quantify several wastes in the Risifrutti production. Recommendations for improvements based on these wastes have been given to the company. In the research part of this report the utility of the Value Stream Map, Environmental Value Stream Map and Green Performance Map in a food processing industry have been analyzed. The author has found that the Value Stream Map has been a useful tool since waste and unevenness in the tact of the production has been identified. The Environmental Value Stream Map and the Green Performance Map are also great tools when a company wants to analyze their environmental impact and then invest in environmental improvements. However, no profound energy analyzes has been done in the Risifrutti production because of the lack of energy meters for steam, electricity and compressed air in the production lines..

The purpose with this research is to examine how the green marketing in retail trade can be developed in order to promote the eco-labeled products closer to the consumer.The method for the survey includes interviews with managers of a few retailers and their customers in the industrial sector. The purpose with the interviews was to produce the retailer and the customer?s perspective of products with eco-label on.The research is limited to the region of Västra Götaland.The results from this research indicate that there is a lack of communication between the retailer and the consumer. The consumers don?t think that the product is available.

Huvuddelen av avelsdjuren för slaktkycklingproduktionen i Sverige ägs av Lantmännen. Djuren utfodras idag oftast med skuren eller krossad pellets men funderingar finns på att byta till ett värmebehandlat mjölfoder då det eventuellt skulle kunna ge flera positiva effekter. Syftet med denna studie var därför att undersöka huruvida ett värmebehandlat mjölfoder, gentemot skuren pellets, påverkar produktion, ättid, krävans fyllnadsgrad, torrsubstans av träck samt exteriöra parametrar som djurens fjäderdräkt, hackskador, fothälsa och renhet. Dessa parametrar har studerats genom registrering av vattenförbrukning, fotografering i stallarna, fysisk bedömning av krävan, uppsamling och analys av träck, undersökning av äggskalskvalitet, exteriörbedömning samt kontinuerligt insamlad produktionsdata som värpprocent, foderförbrukning, äggvikt, antal kläckägg, golvägg, kassationsägg, dödlighet samt vattenförbrukning. Resultaten visade att det värmebehandlade mjölfodret gav längre ättid, signifikant lägre antal hackskador och färre antal kasserade ägg jämfört med pelletsfodret.

The study has been carried out in Råsunda in Solna municipality (Stockholm county) during the period May?July 2006.Three equivalent areas (5000?10 000 m2) with quite many old oaks were chosen for the study and inventoried for birds and saproxylic insects.

This essay shows how natural areas in Älta, a part of Nacka municipality southeast from Stockholm, been changed quantitatively and qualitative as a result of the increased housing construction in the area. Three issues are discussed. Namely: how has Ältas green areas been changed in sizes and quality in line with the settlement's expansion, what is the reason or the reasons to building of different types of accommodations, what has been and is the operators in connection with building of the different types of accommodations?The essay shows that the green areas has been decreased with over 2 km from 1901 to 2000 and in addition to these areas of approximately 1,1km been converted to a planned green structure. Älta has during the years gone through four eras of building types an era of small family houses ? an era of building one million houses on a national scale ? an era of terrace houses ? an era of sporadic building of different housing types (one family houses, pair houses, terrace houses and small blocks of flats).

På grund av en hårt konkurrensutsatt marknad har de svenska lantbrukarna minskat i antal genom åren. Spannmålspriserna har visat en negativ trend och insatsvarupriserna har ökat. Samtidigt arbetar lantbrukarna med stora risker och kapital. Vissa av dessa risker kan minska med hjälp av en investering i en spannmålsanläggning med lagringskapacitet, då man får bättre kontroll på hanteringen av spannmålen. Skördesäsongen för en lantbrukare är en intensiv arbetsperiod.

I dagens samhälle styrs mycket av kunden. Då det finns ett överflöd av produkter kan kunder lätt gå över till en konkurrent om de känner att de inte får sina behov tillfredsställda. För företag är det därför viktigt att se kunden som en tillgång och kunna urskilja deras behov.När det gäller val av värmekälla har konsumenter blivit mer prismedvetna och söker ofta efter ett prisvärt alternativ. Konkurrensen mellan företag som tillverkar pelletssystem har hårdnat på grund av att pelletsintresset har ökat med åren som en följd av att olja och el har blivit dyrare. Janfire som är tillverkare av pelletssystem är i dagsläget under tillväxt och har insett vikten av att ta reda på hur konsumenter som är intresserade av pellets som värmekälla ser ut och till vilka de bör rikta sin marknadsföring.
