This thesis in social anthropology is based on a field study on the Internet exploring Tibetan identity. With a post-modern approach the thesis explores the possibility fora non-tibetan to create a Tibetan Internet identity and become a part of the Tibetan community that exist on the Internet..

The municipality, of Gatukontoret in Local government of Borås has in the long run, a required need to look after the current heating devices (the gas production plant) in sewage treatment plant, called Gässlösa. The practical work of the examination is about, trying to find a better way to take care of the current heat recovery. A well-planned grave with a sustainable selection of plants facilitates easy maintenance for both staff and the holder of the right of burial. It also helps reduce the negative impact on the environment.As in many other areas, the environment is high on the agenda within the cemetery administration. One of the major concerns is the impact of the choice of plants for the grave. Within the industry there is a great motivation and willingness to adapt to a sustainable work mode and this has spawned a number of project works. In autumn 2009 the partnership project, ?Environmental aspects of planning and maintaining graves?, was started in Movium (at The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences).

Heartwood has always been a desirable part of the tree, due to it?s superior decay qualities com-pared to the sapwood. How the formation of heartwood works has been known for a long time, but which factors that initiates and stimulates the production are poorly understood. This case study presents the results of a study in which silvicultural treatments and site properties had a key position as factors to the formation of heartwood. According to the hypothesis the amount of sapwood is directly controlled by the size of the crown.

This master thesis is made in co-operation with the Department of Forest Management and Products at the Swedish University of Agriculture in Uppsala and the Forestry Association in Stockholm. The purpose of the Master thesis was to describe how pre-schools in Sweden use forests and green areas, and to understand how different factors can affect the use of the nature. The purpose of the interviews was to create a picture of attitudes and routines of the pre-schools, in the matter of visiting the nature. The thesis is built on interviews where fifteen pre-schools in five large cities around Sweden participated. Among these pre-schools, five of them worked with special focus on nature, while the other ten did not have any particular focus connected to their activity.

Transportbranschen är en av de branscher som ofta förekommer i debatten kring klimatförändringar, men de är även en av de branscher som ligger långt fram i utvecklingen vad gäller redovisning kring hållbar utveckling. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utreda vad som ger en lyckad eller god hållbarhetsredovisning. Med lyckad eller god menas att hållbarhetsredovisningen bidrar till att ge företaget legitimitet från sina intressenter samt att hållbarhetsredovisningen tillgodoser intressenternas informationsbehov och att företaget lyckas kommunicera sin hållbarhetsredovisning till sina intressenter. Detta skall göras genom att utifrån teorier kring intressenter, legitimitet och kommunikation analysera riktlinjer som finns för hållbarhetsredovisning samt genom att studera två fallföretag inom transportbranschen, vilka har prisats som goda förebilder. En lyckad hållbarhetsredovisning är en redovisning som följer de uppsatta riktlinjer och standarder t.ex GRI och FN:s Global Compact, som idag finns och som erbjuds till företag som vill använda sig av hållbarhetsredovisning.

The effect of climate change places demands on how we build cities. Cities have to be built denser to meet the objectives of sustainability but as a result of this densification city green areas are at risk of exploitationand disappearing. The question this raises is whether there has to be an opposition between a dense and a green city?Urban trees are playing a very important role in cities. They stand as the major part of the vegetation in citieswhich are otherwise dominated with concrete and stone.

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur och varför företag i friluftsbranschen arbetar med grön marknadsföring samt vilken grön strategi företagen har.Metod: Studien är kvalitativ i form av en komparativ flerfallsstudie med en deduktiv ansats. Teorin beskrivs först för att sedan jämföra teorin med det empiriska materialet. Empirisk data har samlats in genom sex semistrukturerade intervjuer och sekundärdata såsom internetkällor och elektroniska rapporter.Teoretisk referensram: Den teoretiska referensramen berör olika områden inom grön marknadsföring. Teorin tar upp segmentering och targeting utefter kunders gröna karaktärsdrag, grön positionering, de fyra gröna P:na i marknadsmixen samt anledningar till varför företag arbetar med grön marknadsföring internt och externt.Slutsatser: Fallföretagen segmenterar inte marknaden efter kundernas gröna karaktärsdrag. Det ligger dock i deras affärsidé eller vision att positionera sig grönt.

In this essay I have described ecocriticism as a theory with several different subfields that are inspired by a cross-disciplinary approach, such as green culture studies, ecofeminism, and postcolonial ecocriticism. After a short summary of the background of ecocritical studies I analyze the various subfields, take a closer look at their contents and present various examples of ecocritical thinking. A presentation of the commonly used concepts within the discipline and some reflections on these is followed by my final discussion, where I state that even though ecocriticism is a relatively new theory and the concept doesn?t have a clear definition as yet, it is in my view a useful tool for analysis and can with time make valuable contributions to literary studies, not least by introducing a number of new perspectives..

Många golfbanor i Sverige byggda på 1980- och 1990-talet, behöver bygga om sina greener för livslängden är begränsad. I beslutsunderlagen saknas ofta greenanalyser. De laboratorier som erbjuder standardiserade ackrediterade analyser av såbäddsmaterial, använder metoder som inte är direkt utvecklade för att studera en greens åldrande med ostörda prover. Analysen av det organiska materialet i golfgreener är starkt begränsad. Några analysresultat från laboratorierna har så stora mätosäkerheter att nyttan av dem är tveksam. Vissa laboratorier har anpassat sina mätmetoder för ostörda prover, men det är ofta oklart på vilket sätt och hur stora felfaktorerna är.

With new energy directives in place, the Swedish Social Service (SSS) stands beforethe challenge how to reduce the energy demand in its locales. It is a complex matter,as the locales are rented from various property owners and it becomes a question ofhow to reduce the operational electricity and influence the property owners to workmore with energy efficiency. This thesis takes a balanced research approach in threeparts. Firstly a qualitative part in form of interviews with personnel at the SSS and itsproperty owners, secondly a quantitative part of descriptive nature in form of energystatistics and thirdly a literature review of Energy Management (EM) Supply ChainManagement(SCM), Green Supply Chain Management(GSCM) and EnviromentalPerformance Indicators (EPI). This in order to be able to give normativerecommendations of how the SSS should act to reduce its energy consumption in itslocales and provide new insights on how EM, SCM, GSCM and EPI can be applied ineffect.

This master's thesis aims to explore the field of evaluative bibliometrics. In short, this field of research uses bibliometrics - i.e. the application of mathematical and statistical methods to books and other media of communication - as a research assessment tool. In recent years, evaluative bibliometrics has been an increasingly used method in research evaluation and is today used and implemented in many countries worldwide. Today, in Sweden, we can also see that evaluative bibliometrics is highly recognised and, in some cases, used in practice.

Every year 67000 tons of food is wasted by Swedish retail stores. The waste implies financial losses for the retailer and it has a huge impact on the global environment. Reducing in-store food waste is thus a win-win situation for both retailers and society. The most effective way to reduce waste is primarily by optimizing the logistics of supply, but customers expect a store with a wide range of products and stuffed shelves. Thus there will always be products about to expire.

Purpose: Corporations today see a greater responsibility towards society regarding the environmental impact of their actions, using available transportation options that are more eco-friendly can reduce this impact significantly. Martinsen and Björklund (2012) identifies a set of gaps between supply and demand of green logistics services. This paper aims to address what it is that affects the demand for these alternative solutions and what could be done to increase the usage of them, thereby decreasing this gap.Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative study with six Logistics Service Providers (LSP) and 24 companies that purchase transportation services, all operating in Sweden. Data is collected through semi-structured telephone interviews with people responsible for the purchasing of transports as well as key account managers within the service providing companies.Findings: Just as the LSP?s interviewed in this paper thought, the main focus of the transport buying companies are the costs.

Kronvittnessystem har vid ett flertal tillfällen diskuterats i svensk politik som en möjlig åtgärd i arbetet mot organiserad brottslighet. Ett kronvittne är en person som vittnar om sin egen eller andras brottslighet och på grund av detta erhåller ett mildare straff för sina brott. Flera andra länder använder sig av kronvittnessystem på grund av de nyttor som finns med det, men forskning visar att det även finns problem med systemet. Syftet med denna studie är att besvara frågan vad kriminella personer har för uppfattning om att kronvittna i ett kronvittnessystem. Kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes med före detta kriminella med erfarenhet av organiserad brottslighet.
