CAMPUS BTH - ett gestaltningsförslag och en studie av begreppet campus

This text answers the questions how do we define what a campus is, how the concept of the campus came to exist and how it is used today, and how the Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) campus can be designed according to site conditions and the conclusions drawn from case studies at Chalmers University of Technology and Karlstad University. The purpose of the case studies is to gain insight into their campuses advantages and disadvantages. This finally results in an interpretation of how the Blekinge Institute of Technology campus can be planned. A campus is the area of land on which a college or university and its surrounding buildings resides on. Campus as a concept meant a field at first, it later evolved at American universities due to their design of college campuses.

Att grönområden har positiva effekter på människors hälsa är vetenskapligt bevisat. Ett viktigt uppdrag för dem som arbetar inom kommunal planering är därför att underlätta för invånarna att vistas i grönområden. Detta uppdrag är speciellt viktigt att ha i åtanke idag när förtätningen av städer leder till att grönytor byggs igen samt att fler måste dela på de grönytor som finns. Detta arbete ger en orientering i vilka hälsoeffekter som vistelse i grönområden kan bidra till och vilka faktorer som kommunala förvaltningar bör ta hänsyn till i planeringen för hälsofrämjande grönområden. Med utgångspunkt i en bred teoretisk bakgrund har en fallstudie av ett specifikt bostadsområde gjorts.

The essay is written at the request of Nyköping municipality park management by PatRadestedt who wanted a design proposal for one of the five courtyards at the Tessin Schoolin Nyköping. The Tessin School is located 2 miles from the center of Nyköping and the schoolhouses approximately 900 students. To make a design proposal for the courtyard that lies atthe canteen I decided from the outset that I wanted to take some of the Tessin SchoolStudents' opinions and wishes regarding their own outdoor spaces. I had a workshop witheight students from the arts program with the image orientation in which they had to drawand tell them what they wanted to do in the courtyard. The outcome of the workshop, Iused to move forward in my future work with a concept that fit into the environment, wethen apply it in my final design proposal.

För fastighetsägare är det en möjlighet att bevisa för sina hyresgäster och köpare att byggnaden är hållbar. Är en byggnad miljöcertifierad har en oberoende part intygat att den uppfyller en nivå av hållbarhet som bestäms utifrån standardiserade kriterier. Fastighetsägaren kan alltså använda certifikatet i marknadsföringssyfte.Den här studien undersökte om en byggnad som är byggnadsminnesförklarad kan miljöcertifieras med Miljöbyggnad. Målet var att hitta kostnadseffektiva lösningar för att uppfylla de miljöcertifieringskriterier som eventuellt inte uppfylls idag.

The sun is a huge energy source with great potential of providing energy to the heating of homes and other buildings in an environmentally sustainable manner. In order to provide buildings with energy from the sun it is necessary to transfer the energy supply over time to when the demand arises. By storing the heat in a seasonal storage, solar energy from the summer can be used in the winter when the demand for heating is greatest.Today's existing plants are mainly in Europe and particularly in Germany. These facilities are designed to supply heat demands greater than 400 MWh and covers about 40-50 % of this need which consists of energy for space heating and domestic hot water. How much of the heat demand that is covered, the solar fraction, is partly due to losses from the storage which in turn is connected to the surface area of the storage.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine how locally produced bioenergy may contribute to meet the climate target year 2050 in the municipality of Uppsala. The goal of reduced GHG-emissions from current 6,8 ton CO2-equivalents to 0,5 ton CO2-equivalents per capita and year, year 2050 is based on avoiding harmful penalties of an increased level of GHG in the atmosphere. By estimating available biomass in the county together with examining future technologies and emission factors for the substrates used, four possible future scenarios has been developed focusing either on electricity generation or production of biofuels. GHG-emissions of year 2050 have been calculated using the software LEAP. The conclusion is that bioenergy, depending on how it is integrated in the energy system, may reduce greenhouse gas emissions between 0.6 ton CO2-equivalents and 1.4 ton CO2-equivalents per capita or 12% to 25% compared to 5.5 ton CO2-equivalents in the reference scenario 2050. The greatest reduction is obtained if biofuels are produced in combination with energy efficient heat requirements in buildings..

När företagare väljer att inrikta sig på miljönkliver entreprenören in i bilden och identifierar och upptäcker möjligheter på marknaden.Fram till nyligen har forskningen inom miljöområdet bara fokuserat på hur man ska uppnå enhållbar utveckling, och det är först på senare år som forskare har börjat utforska entreprenörerinom området. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att undersöka vilka kommunikationsstrategier som används i reklamfilmer för spelbolag samt vilka gemensamma drag och olikheter som finns i de olika spelbolagens marknadsföring då tv-reklam utgör mediet. Jag har i min uppsats besvarat följande frågeställningar:? Hur byggs reklamfilmerna upp för att locka specifika målgrupper att spela på just deras sajter?? Hur gestaltas manligt och kvinnligt i reklamfilmerna?Jag har analyserat fem reklamfilmer från fem olika spelföretag; Karamba, Maria, Jackptjoy, Vera & John samt Mr Green. Jag har analyserat reklamfilmerna utifrån begreppen: humor, metafor, ljud, bild, kvinnlighet och manlighet. Dessa begrepp är formade utifrån Jens Elmelund Kjeldsen, Maria Nikolajeva samt Ulf Dahlqvist och Magnus Lindes teorier om retorik, genusschema och reklamutformning.

LEED i Sverige och i byggprojektet Borgarfjord 3.

This thesis provides a good introduction to the American environmental certification system LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and trough compar-isons between Sweden and the United States an explanation to the systems design is given. The work is closely linked to a LEED Core & Shell project in Stockholm, Swe-den, where the goal is to reach the second highest rating in LEED - Gold.This thesis gives a broad description of the LEED system and a more profound study of the energy sector, Energy and Atmosphere. Here, for example, an analysis has been made of how the energy consumption of an imaginary building designed according to the requirements of the BBR (Swedish building code) performs in comparison to the Baseline building in LEED.The existing model of Borgarfjord 3, which served as a case study in this work, has al-so been modified to investigate the energy savings that could have been achieved by adding extra insulation to the building. A description of the problems, regarding how the Swedish district heating system (DES) is treated in LEED, is given as well as the suggested modifications. This is an issue that will be pursued during the process of shaping a new, international, version of LEED due to be launched 2012..
