The Mobile phone has contributed to massive changes in the way that human beings communicate with each other and is a technology that is a part of society?s globalization. Opinions differ in the area of user interface where some feel that mobile phones exclude users such as senior citizens or users with an intellectual or a physical disability.Universal Design ??design for all?, is a vision that intends to bring about settings, products and services that suits as many people as possible irrespective of an individual?s needs and prospects. The criteria for ?design for all? are among other things flexibility, user friendliness, comprehensibility and a high tolerance for mistakes.The purpose of this essay is to investigate the mobile phones graphic user-interface from the theory of a universal design.

The aim has been to investigate and describe how gender-neutral design, concerning typefaces and colours, can be created. Based on my results I?ve designed a cover for a recipe-book to make it appealing to both women and men. I have been doing my research based on questions such as; Does feminine and masculine design, concerning typefaces and colours exist? And if so what characterizes it? Does gender-neutral design, concerning typefaces and colours exist? And if so what characterizes it? Is it possible to design a cover for a recipe-book in a gender-neutral way, concerning typefaces and colours? The first part of my research consists of a literature study based on keywords such as gender, graphic design, gender theory, typeface, androgynous, visual communication, colour, shape, feminine, masculine, and book design.

På initiativ av Håkan Gerdin påbörjades utvecklingen av ett personaluthyrningsprogram, eftersom han en lång tid saknat ett program med denna specifika inriktning. Detta startade sommaren 2002 genom ett examensarbete med väl genomfört förarbete och utformning av programmets design. Programmet fick även namnet GOE!. Under hösten samma år gjordes ännu ett examensarbete som bestod av att realisera större delen av GOE!. Då det fortfarande saknades funktioner och manual erbjöd jag mig att göra delar av detta arbete som sedan inleddes i början av 2003.

Syfte och forskningsfrågor: Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka den amerikanska arménsföreställningar om motståndsgruppers identitet i deras manual FM 3-24.2, FM 90-8, FM 7-98,Tactics in Counterinsurgency. De frågeställningar som ska ge mig svaret är: Vilka föreställningarom motståndsgruppens identitet framkommer i amerikanska arméns manual? Vilka identiteter är detsom finns i amerikanska arméns manual? Hur relateras de olika identiteterna till varandra?Metod och material: Dokumentanalys av amerikanska arméns manual för strid motmotståndsgrupperHuvudresultat: Manualen bidrar inte med att klart och tydligt identifiera fienden.Motståndsgruppen är svår att skilja från andra som gör motstånd eller protesterar. Det kan finnasflera motståndsgrupper, men motståndsgrupper klumpas ihop med milis, gäng, kriminella, utländskaagenter och terrorister. Motståndsgrupperna kan vara politiska rörelser som vill åtgärda verkligaeller upplevda missförhållande.

Vi undrade hur arbetsprocessen för att översätta ett företags identitet till en grafisk identitet såg ut och vad som krävdes för att den skulle kommunicera det företaget ville. För att kunna göra detta gjorde vi en teoretisk del och en praktisk del. Den teoretiska delen baserades på litteraturstudier samt intervjuer. Denna information blev grunden till den praktiska del som bestod av en kommunikativ plattform och en grafisk manual till företaget. Genom att arbeta oss genom hela processen kom vi fram till att det viktigaste för att skapa en bra visuell identitet var att skaffa sig kunskap om företaget, vad dom ville förmedla och hur konkurrenssituationen såg ut.

I samband med att datorstödda ritningsprogram introducerades i byggbranschen, effektiviserades utformningen av ritningar. Tekniken innebar att tidigare metoder med att rita för hand delvis bibehölls, fastän ritningarna utfördes på datorn. De senaste åren har byggbranschen påbörjat en ny förändring avseende framställning av handlingar, med användning av Building Information Modell (BIM). Med denna metod skapas en modell i 3D över byggnaden och dess omgivning. Modellen snittas i planer och sektioner, vilka utgör traditionella ritningar i 2D.

The following report describes an exploratory work about Furillen,an island that belongs to the area Rute, in northern Gotland. Theproject is a result of a selection of texts taken from the author ClasEngström - my grandfather. He wrote, among other things, about theinhabitants of Rute and their experience and ways of dealing with thedevelopment of their society. Through the use of graphic design I havetried to update the content of some of these texts.Much have changed since my grandfather wrote about Rute, whichgave me further reason to update the topic.In addition to the research, I looked at graphic design?s importancefor interpreting the literary content.

Incompatibility between donors and recipients can cause fatal hemolytic transfusion reactions (HTR), kidney damage and death and immunization of the recipient. Antigens on the surface of erythrocytes in the ABO blood group system and regular natural antibodies against these in the patient?s plasma must be considered. An individual always has a corresponding antibody of IgM in their plasma. Irregular antibodies acquired by transfusion or pregnancy and active in body temperature also cause the HTR incompatibility.

För att en slutanvändare skall kunna lösa problemsituationer som uppstår under interaktion med ett informationssystem bör denne ha tillgång till hjälpresurser. Dessa kan vara andra individer, manualer eller inbyggda programspecifika hjälpresurser. Hjälpresurser är en del av ett informationssystems användbarhet och syftet med denna studie är att studera ett ärendehanteringssystems hjälpresurser ur ett användbarhetsperspektiv. Studien har genomförts med teorier kring människa - datorinteraktion och en kvalitativ metod på en statlig organisation. Undersökningen har riktat sig mot de slutanvändare som handhar ärendehanteringssystemet dagligen.

This paper describes the process of building a machine translation lexicon for use in the train and transport domain with the machine translation system MATS. The lexicon will consist of a Swedish part, an English part and links between them and is derived from a Tradostranslation memory which is split into a training(90%) part and a testing(10%) part. The task is carried out mainly by using existing word linking software and recycling previous machine translation lexicons from other domains. In order to do this, a method is developed where focus lies on automation by means of both existing and self developed software, in combination with manual interaction. The domain specific lexicon is then extended with a domain neutral core lexicon and a less domain neutral general lexicon.

The purpose of this study was to gather knowledge about the functioning of the rein tension meter and test it for future studies of match and mismatch between rider and horse. We looked specifically into the possibilities to use a rein-tension meter to determine the quality of cooperation between horse and rider. We examined whether a rider shows a specific tension pattern and also if certain patterns could be recognised for a specific horse. During the study, a manual with pictures and text was written to support the practical use of the meter. The manual describes in a simple way the first steps in the installation and use of the meter.

The report describes the production of graphic correspondence and marketing material for DUCIS(Dalarna University Centre for Irish Studies).A logotype symbol is created on the basis of an element from the Celtic art, and a graphic material thatharmonies with this ideal of style is built around the symbol. A unique visiting card, correspondence cardand letterhead is produced to strengthen the identity of DUCIS outwards.The work proceeds with an international education folder which is an important element in the marketingwork for the MA-education which starts in the autumn of 2003. Two posters, one for the opening ofDUCIS in may 2003 and one for a conference in 2004, are produced. Finally, a redesign of the book coverfor NIS, Nordic Irish Studies, is carried out.The report describes the working process consisting of meetings, practical work and other elementswithin the process. The conclusion is that the work has been quite successful and that this, to a largeextent, depended on an engaged and supporting commissioner.
