Namibia, southern Africa, suffers from an energy shortage and is therefore facing severalchallenging problems. The use of firewood as fuel for cooking is common in the whole countryand has negative consequences for health and the environment. This work have focused ondeveloping a solar baking oven, calledSunbaker, adapted for Namibian families needs forbaking. The development was based on classic solar cooking limitations, specific needs forNamibia and to have a feasible manufacturability.The project started with a theoretical study in Sweden where different solar cookers, informationregarding Namibia, technical aspects and end user aspects were studied. To assess the need for asolar baking oven aMinor Field Study took place in Namibia during eight weeks in July toSeptember 2009 and resulted in a product design specification.

Robotic milking in Automatic Milking systems (AMS) is proposed to reduce manual labour and at the same time increase milk yield by increasing milking frequency. In order to increase milking frequency, it is essential to have well-functioning cow traffic. Investing in an AMS is a great capital investment for the farmer, thus it is of major importance to ensure maximal AMS capacity. This study investigated the effect of the traffic systems Feed First? and Free cow traffic with and without waiting area (WA) on cow performance and AMS capacity.

Teachers and special education teachers play a vital role in the creation of a study environment that fosters productivity in students. The current study aims to further expand the knowledge regarding teacher?s perception of common work with developing an optimal study environment within the classroom and the educational institution. In order to achieve this, qualitative interviews have been performed and study results analyzed according Nilholm´s model of the three different perspectives on special education: The critical perspective, the compensatory perspective and the dilemma perspective.The study results show that the concept of order and study environment is not clearly defined among the interviewees. However, the concept appears to presuppose the teacher?s responsibility to create the sense of security and effective study environment to those students who express the wish to educate themselves (Children make the things right only if they have been shown the correct way to do it).

The overall purpose of this master essay is to investigate whether there is an interest among people near retirement to contribute with their knowledge and experience after they reach the defined retirement age. Furthermore, I would like to investigate if they want to continue with their old jobs, full time/part time or to do something else, which is beneficial to the society. I also want to find out how the older people view themselves to continuing to work. Also which types of social and structural barriers that might exist for them and why. The aim is also to investigate what types of knowledge and experience they believe could be used in the future community.

In early January 2010 the authors participated in a meeting with the chief engineer for a company in which a central part is manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCB). At this meeting it emerged that the machinery and production methods have changed substantially since the early 1990's. The spreadsheet for preliminary production time calculations by the company is today based on conditions from almost 20 years ago. The company has over the years been trying to adjust the spreadsheet template. The result of these adjustments has filled it with historical residue, something which makes the template difficult and time consuming when the primary user tries to handle it.The purpose of this study was to help the company increase its accuracy in the representation of the production times for the different PCB-based products by developing a new costing model based on an already existing but inadequate spreadsheet template. The company also expressed the wish that the new costing model would be less time consuming to work with.The methods used to achieve the goal are interviewing, participatory observations and meetings with relevant persons. The data obtained were analyzed using the theory on PCB production and visualization of data.

Cycle time has a direct influence on number of returnable crates needed and therefore a crucial parameter for cost structure and pricing of the user fec in the pool system.For providing the growing market, number of crates has to increase as well as the utilization of existing crates. To accomplish this aim, cycle time for the whole supply chain has to be fully unravelled and understand.The purpose is to map cycle time and stock movements, to see how, where and when crates are being used in the supply chain. The goal is to make a method of cycle time calculation, together with suggestions of improving the pool system and decrease cycle time.The study has been a combination of qualitative and quantitative research and comprises the three biggest wholesalers in Sweden; ICA, Coop and Axfood. Furthermore have 65 grocery shops, connected to the wholesalers, been investigated and mapped.The study has come to a conclusion that cycle time for an average returnable crate is 19 days. The full-size and half-size crates have a bit longer cycle time, 21-22 days, while Dual Height-crates and shallow haif-size crates have 17-18 days.

Från och med 1 januari 2007 gäller nya och förenklade redovisningsregler som stadgar att alla verksamheter ska avsluta sina räkenskaper med ett årsbokslut eller en årsredovisning. Mindre företag har dessutom möjligheten att använda ett förenklat årsbokslut. För enskilda näringsidkare finns en vägledning utgiven av Bokföringsnämnden i syfte att ge en överskådlig beskrivning av de nya reglerna och deras tillämpning. En enskild näringsidkare som upprättar ett förenklat årsbokslut ska använda sig uteslutande av reglerna i denna vägledning.Anledningen till att reglerna ändrades var enligt propositionen att det tidigare regelverket var komplicerat och svårt att överblicka. De nya reglerna i bokföringslagen som stadgar att bokslutsskyldighet nu gäller alla bokföringsskyldiga, syftar till att förenkla redovisningen för de allra minsta verksamheterna.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att utveckla en metod som, istället för metallanalyser, kan förutsäga bleksvaret i efterföljande peroxidblekning av pappersmassa. Det är allmänt känt att övergångsmetaller katalyserar sönderfallet av väteperoxid mycket effektivt, där mangan, koppar och järn är de effektivaste katalysatorerna vid massablekning. Vid Östrands massabruk (dåvarande SCA Graphic Sundsvall AB), där arbetet utfördes, var koncentrationen av mangan högre än andra skadliga metaller, varför mangan hade en mycket betydande roll. Metallanalyser kan användas för att i viss mån förutsäga bleksvaret i efterföljande peroxidblekningar. Dessa analyser är dock kostsamma, långsamma och komplicerade varför en billig, snabb och enkel metod är att föredra.

Cnior Mobile AB i Lindesberg utvecklar en mobil trygghetstelefon för äldre. Detta examensarbete går ut på att utforma en handsfree-enhet för denna. Handsfree-enheten ska integreras i larmknappen, som bärs av användaren runt handleden, och har kontakt med telefonen via blåtandsradio. I examensarbetet ingår att välja ut lämplig högtalare och mikrofon, hitta lösningar för smuts- och vattentålighet samt att lösa problem med ekon och bakgrundsstörningar.En högtalare hittades som uppfyllde kraven för smuts- och vattentålighet samtidigt som den hade utmärkt frekvensgång för återgivning av tydligt tal. Vattenavrinning från högtalaren löstes genom att ett sinussvep sänds ut från högtalaren varje gång ett samtal ska kopplas upp.

 This study was conducted in autumn 2008 on the Company AB, which is currently in a growth phase. The company manufactures hydraulic systems for the heavy vehicle industry and has annual sales of approximately 250 MSEK with 165 employees.The rapid growth and unchanged planning is the starting point for this report. It all began in 2005 when the company received an unusually large order. During this period, the first priority was to satisfy customers and all other focus was disregarded. This has primarily resulted in a messy production and long throughput times.

Sweden has distinct seasons with cold winter and temperatures down to minus 25 ?C andpleasant summers with temperatures above 20 ?C. During spring and autumn there could becomechallenges with precipitation. The diverse climate in Sweden affects many homeowners. For thepeople living in leisure boats and permanent housing boats the seasonal changes are clearlyimpacting their economy and the indoor climate.

I ett modernt samhälle är elektricitet en nyckelkomponent för industrins, individens och samhällets utveckling. Naturkatastrofområden där elektriciteten slagits ut står inför stora prövningar för att kunna få samhällsviktiga funktioner att fungera igen. Med hjälp av den mobila miljövänlig energienhet Emergency Energy Module (EEM) kan elbehovet lindras.Detta examensarbetes mål var att ta fram en elsystemsbeskrivning för den kommande Export container (EXC), samt ta fram ett korrekt elschema för den befintliga EEM.Elsystemsbeskrivningen måste ta hänsyn till EXC:s kravspecifikation samt innehålla Bills of Material (BoM) och elschema. Problematiken ligger bl.a. i att få flera olika energikällor (sol, vind och biomassa förgasare) att fungera tillsammans i ett elsystem där likspänning, växelspänning, trefas och enfas blandas.

Syftet med projektet är att WB-Trä vill få in ett mera fungerande kvalitetstänkande i företagets produktion, från godsmottagningen genom maskinhanteringen, ytbehandlingen och slutligen monteringen. De har inga krav från deras leverantörer att de ska skaffa ett kvalitetssystem än men det kanske kommer en förfrågan inom en snar framtid så då vill de vara väl förbereda inför detta. De vill även förbättra sig själva och sina produkter, varje medarbetare ska bli mer medveten om vilka krav som dom ska jobba efter. Detta för att de som jobbar ute i produktionen skall följa en enkel manual och på så sätt veta vilka krav som ställs på den produkt som de producerar. Detta kvalitetstänkande har sin grund i att de själva vill höja deras kvalité i deras produkter och få in kontrollrutiner i det dagliga arbetet.

Detta examensarbete har utförts vid institutionen för teknik och naturvetenskap vid Linköpings Tekniska Högskola. Uppdragsgivare har varit DSV Solutions AB i Norrköping som önskade att ett kvalitetsprojekt skulle genomföras i lagret på Händelö. Syftet med arbetet är att förbättra lagret hos utvalda kunder på DSV Solutions AB i Norrköping. Med en förbättring av lagret menas mindre felplock samtidigt som lagret inte får ökade kostnader av eventuella förändringar. Åtgärder för att förbättra effektiviteten har också genomförts då det fanns förhoppningarna om att plockarna skulle känna mindre stress om de hann plocka fler order under en viss tid jämfört med innan.I dagsläget har företaget fyra kunder i sitt lager och detta arbete fokuserar på två av dessa kunder.
