Undersökningens utgångspunkter finns i Gordon W. Allports kontaktteori gällande kontakt mellan grupper och även Theodor W. Adornos teori angående den auktoritära personligheten. Studien undersökte på vilket sätt auktoritär personlighet påverkar en majoritetsgrupps direkta- och indirekta kontakt med minoritetsgrupper samt majoritetsgruppens fördomar. De två grupper som berördes var majoritetsgruppen thailändare och minoritetsbefolkning i provinsen Chiang Rai i norra Thailand.

This paper examines in what way the heterosexual matrix is challenged by Stephenie Meyer in Breaking dawn (Så länge vi båda andas). By doing a thematic study on the various family constellations appearing in the novel, I search for the queer elements in it. I discuss incest, family building and motherhood, and find that there are numerous queer elements associated with the themes I have chosen. I conclude that the Cullen family challenges the heterosexual matrix, despite not being typical queer vampire characters. I also find that building a successful family is not based on gender or constellation otherwise, but is instead dependant on democracy and equality.

Denna uppsats behandlar frågan kring fördomar, muslimer och interaktion. Undersökningen sker genom en intervjuundersökning där respondenterna får svara på frågor som berör deras syn på muslimer utifrån deras interaktionsnivå. Tidigare forskning säger att den socialt konstruerade bilden av muslimer är negativ, och att den upprätthålls av samhället, däribland filmindustrin. Som ramverk för att undersöka detta används socialkonstruktivismen och kontaktteorin. Kontaktteorin, som introduceras av Gordon Allport, säger att interaktion mellan grupper minskar fördomar genom att grupperna interagerar som jämbördiga och med gemensamma mål.

Mau Maus anhängare kom från den etniskt kenyanska folkgruppen kikuyu som medelst våld ville uppnå målet att skapa ett kikuyukontrollerat Kenya fritt från vita européer. Britternas svar på Mau Mau blev upprorsbekämpning vilken av britterna anses lyckad och präglades av deportering av civila. Undersökningen besvarar frågan huruvida Galulas teori om upprorsbekämpning hade varit tillämpbar på konflikten i Kenya genom en fallstudie på britternas agerande utifrån Galulas teori. För att identifiera likheter och skillnader mellan empiri och teori används textanalys samt Gordon McCormicks Magiska Diamant som ett analys- och operationaliseringsverktyg.

This study investigates a Swedish educational project aimed to incorporate young people with intellectual disabilities into the labor market through internship. This qualitative interview study was conducted with six of the project student?s internship supervisors. The purpose of this study is thus to examine the motives behind the decision to take on a trainee from the program at the workplace. In addition, the study also aims to examine whether and how dif-ferent factors of the workplace affect the trainee?s opportunities for social inclusion in the workplace.

I rapporten presenteras två analysmetoder, Jan Gehls och Gordon Cullens. Analysmetoderna appliceras på tre offentliga mötesplatser i Eskilstuna, Fröslunda centrum, Smörtorget samt Sveaplan. Utifrån resultaten från analyserna har förslag till förbättring utformats. Gordons Cullens analysmetod baseras på den visuella upplevelsen av staden samt upplevelsen av att röra sig i den. Jan Gehls analysmetod baseras på aktiviteterna som äger rum i staden samt vilka möjligheter det finns att skapa kontakt.

In 1996 a hunting test for British gun dogs was started in Sweden, based on a similar one al-ready in place in Norway. The aim of the new test was to describe the hunting ability of the dog and to use the results as a basis for selection. However, up to now, no genetic study of these data has been done. Therefore the aim of this study was to estimate genetic parameters for the traits measured in the hunting test and to investigate whether the traits can summarized into fewer overall measures. Data from trails of British gundogs between 1996 and 2005 in Sweden were used to estimate genetic parameters and environmental effects in hunting performance. British gundogs consist of five different breeds: Pointer, English setter (ES), Gordon setter (GS), Irish red setter (Irl S) and Irish red and white setter.

Under perioden 1990-2000 har Ghana och Ugandas demokratiutveckling väsentligen skilt sig åt. Trots att de båda länderna delar många egenskaper och förutsättningar har Ghana demokratiserats medan Ugandas utveckling stannat vid ett enpartistyre.Denna uppsats tar sin ansatts i teorier kring vad som skapar goda förutsättningar för en positiv demokratisk utveckling. Enligt Gordon White rör dessa socioekonomisk utveckling, det civila samhället, det politiska samhället, politiska institutioner samt det internationella klimatet.Syftet är således att genom en komparativ fåfallstudie finna förklaringar till varför Ghana och Uganda utvecklats olika, samt att utröna vilken roll bistånd och konditionalitet kan spela i en demokratiseringsprocess. Särskild fokus har legat på EU:s omfattande biståndsprogram i de båda länderna och hur dessa har inverkat de faktorer som utgör grunden för teorin.Genom att utifrån denna metodologi analysera de båda fallen, visar undersökningen att den skilda utvecklingen delvis kan förklaras utifrån hur externa aktörer har använt sig av bistånd och politisk konditionalitet i sin biståndspolitik. Dock existerar även andra viktiga förklaringsfaktorer, främst i Uganda, där den komplicerade etniska sammansättningen och ekonomisk snedfördelning försvårat en vidare demokratisering av landet..

This Bachelor thesis deals with the act of the British Labour Party when they recalled a referendum promised by former Prime Minister Tony Blair. Tony Blair promised a referendum on the Constitutional Treaty, but his successor Gordon Brown later recalled it when the Lisbon Treaty succeeded the Constitutional Treaty as the legal foundation of the European Union.The main purpose of this thesis was to with help from various theorethical frameworks explain why the Labour Party decided to do this, even if this decision gave the main opposition party, the Conservative and Unionist Party (the Tories), the chance to heavily critisize the Labour Party, and picture them as traitors.The research questions were:? What are the reasons that the Labour Party went from being a Eurosceptical party, to become more pro-European?? Why did the Labour Party cancel the promised referendum on the new treaty of the European Union?Various answers were found for the first research question. Among the most important was that it was a part of the over all transition which led to the launch of New Labour.The second research question was answered with three explanatory models based on actions of the Labour Party on three arenas; the electoral arena (based on power, this model claims that the Labour Party act as they do because the know the Tories would not act differently if they were in office), the parliamentary arena (based on ideology, this model claims that Labour want the Lisbon Treaty because it has a stronger social dimension than earlier treaties) and the internal arena (based on the problem of identification, this model claims that the Labour Party identifies itself with the British government, and not just the voters, and are afraid of damaging Britain?s influence in the EU and international politics if Britain says ?no? to the Lisbon Treaty)..
