Trees in urban environment are exposed to extreme conditions, foremost the ones that grow in the hard packed soil along our streets. They are also exposed to damaging insects and fungal diseases both local and new ones spreading from South Europe. The global warming with warmer temperatures provides a longer growing season, making it easier for insects and fungus to establish a habitat. Based on these facts new tree species need to be available for future urban plantings.To determine what these trees would be an interview study began. Six people were selected who have experience in the field of urban environment planting.

This essay explores the Swedish state?s geopolitical view and creation, of the spatial spaces in and of the Arctic. With a critical geopolitical framework, a discourse analysis is conducted on the Swedish strategy for the arctic region, with the ambition to unfold the underlining spatial spaces, actors and dramas that this discourse creates. The result of this analysis shows that Sweden creates three different Arctic spaces within its geopolitical discourse; a Swedish Arctic, a Nearby Arctic and a Regional Arctic. This has major political consequences, which will be illuminated in the essay.

Inom denna studie behandlas de personliga nätverkens påverkan på ett Born Global-företags internationaliseringsprocess. Studieobjektet är JOMED, ett företag inom den medicintekniska branschen. Dess viktigaste produkter är s k stents, vilka används vid behandling av kärlsjukdomar. Studiens litteraturkapitel behandlar tre områden, Born Globals, internationaliseringsteori samt nätverksteori. Med Born Globals avses företag som i mycket nära anslutning till sin tillblivelse internationaliseras.

I denna uppsats undersöks hur ett företag med global strategi, Oriflame, överför kunskap om sin kärnkompetens: försäljning. Företaget som har en global strategi förutsätter att alla enheter inom företaget ska agera likadant oberoende av marknad. För att denna strategi ska lyckas blir kunskapsöverföringen avgörande. Nationell kultur, organisationsdesign samt kunskapstyp kan alla utgöra hinder för en lyckad kunskapsöverföring. För att komma förbi dessa hinder kan företag använda sig av olika verktyg.

Abstract This master thesis is a result of the work thas was done for my entry in the international architectural competition Urban spaces and urban life in Ørestad South, that was announced by Ørestadselskabet on the 31st of October 2006. The project work lasted from early November until the deadline on 14th of February. In addition to the proposal that was handed in, the master thesis consists of a number of reflections about the work that was done and design work in general. The proposal is an answer to a not that evident task. One would expect that the assigment was clearly defined in the brief of the competition like this. And so it seems to do but to define the real assignment and join your own aims to it from such an extensive brief can be quite time consuming. Why do architects participate and what is an architectural competition? How does the brief affect the choices and statements made by the entrants? What is a square? What is the strategy that leads to a convincing concept? The role and use of a concept in the design process.

I december 2003 antogs Sveriges politik för global utveckling (PGU). Målet förpolitiken är att bidra till en rättvis och hållbar global utveckling genom att all politik som bedrivs ska genomsyras av ett rättighetsperspektiv samt de fattigas perspektiv på utveckling. Uppsatsen utreder vilka förutsättningar det finns för en lyckas implementering av PGU med avseende på handel. Sverige utgör ett exportinriktat land och de senaste åren har Sveriges biståndspolitik svängt från det traditionella biståndet till att handelspolitiken får allt större del av biståndspengarna, med motiveringen att handel gynnar fattigdomsbekämpning.I implementeringsprocessen av PGU är näringslivet en viktig aktör. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur långt implementeringsprocessen sipprar ner.

SYFTE: Syftet med denna uppsats är att med Decuma som utgångspunkt kartlägga de möjligheter och svårigheter, som är specifika för ett born globalföretags förmåga att skapa en konkurrenskraftig position. METOD: Uppsatsen bygger på en fallstudie av Decuma för att få djupare insikt i problematiken kring born globals och hur de kan uppnå konkurrensfördelar genom strategiska relationer. Vi presenterar en bred fallstudie som sedan analyseras med utgångspunkt från vår teoretiska referensram som berör internationaliseringsprocessen för små hig-tech företag med behov av samarbeten och relationer. SLUTSATSER: För att ett born globalföretag ska kunna skapa möjligheter på en global marknad är det viktigt att de har förmåga att bibehålla sin flexibilitet trots att de får större krav från marknaden i takt med att de växer. Det är även viktigt att företaget kan erbjuda en specialiserad och kundanpassad produkt.

What impact and effects are created by the placement of an international ranking? Could it be that a top rank is detrimental to an entire country's efforts to fight corruption?This bachelor thesis in political science is about Swedish corruption. In essence, so questioning the Transparency International's indexed rankings that placed Sweden in third place. Issues concern since if the third placement has created nonchalance and a careless mentality in Swedish government and in particular in the municipal operations. Research results show that Transparency International's rankings have low validity and low reliability and that the government is not acting sufficiently to prevent and fight corruption.

For years the northern parts of Sweden, Norrland (translated: North land) has been considered mystified and exotified by the southern, more urban parts of the country. The rural Norrland ? though 60 percent of Sweden ? is seldom a part of the common conversation, meaning that most of the people living in the southern parts simply have no idea what is happening in the north. The one million people living in Norrland, on the other hand, every day gets to know what happens in the south on the evening news. The question about this possible structural relation between the urban and the rural became a large matter of cultural debate in the spring of 2015, If this thesis is true, we have a problem on our hands; can the national news be considered national if half the country is misrepresented? That question is what this essay is trying to find out by analyzing two of Swedens largest national newspapers.

We live in a world where the resources are not equally divided and that is why charity work is needed. But perhaps even charity work, which´s often glorified in the society, need to be looked at from different directions. A possible way to reduce pollution and slow down the process of global warming is to increase the usage of renewable energy sources. One of these renewable energy sources is solar power. With the aid of solar panels and solar cells the energy from the sun can be transformed into both heating and electricity. The countries in the European Union have agreed to increase their percentage renewable energy sources to 20 %. To reach this goal an increase of biomass production needs to be made. One way of achieving this is by using nonnative species. Poplar in Sweden produces biomass faster than the domestic trees. In the southern parts of Sweden plantations has been made with good results. In the northern parts survival is a problem that needs to be solved before plantations can be made for commercial use.
