Studiens syfte var att undersöka samband mellan terapeuters känslor och behandlingsutfall. 27 terapier undersöktes, som ingick i forskningsprojekt på Ericastiftelsen; Erica Process and Outcome Study (EPOS) och Målprojektet. Terapeuternas känslor undersöktes med hjälp av självskattningsformuläret Feeling Word Checklist (FWC) och samband mellan skattningar och behandlingsutfall mätt med Children´s Global Assessment Scale (CGAS) undersöktes. Sex psykoterapier analyserades kvalitativt utifrån terapeuternas beskrivningar av terapin i regelbundet ifyllda formulär. Huvudresultaten visar att distans i terapins inledningsfas var förknippat med sämre utfall.

This thesis aimed to investigate how a rising sea level would affect the livable area of the island Fongafale, Tuvalu. Through the IPCC stabilization scenarios it was examined which areas of the island that would be affected by flooding. The local population?s perceptions of the effects of climate change were studied to see how the consequences of a world-wide problem such as global warming affect people's lives. The paper clarified the Tuvaluans place in the discussion of climate refugees, explained IPCC's work and described the results of previous studies concerning people in Fongafales perceptions and concerns about climate-related changes.

During the last decade working with competence has emerged as a more strategically important area. Today the human resources in a company are considered a competitive advance and the HR-units play a significant role when it comes to HR-management. Different motives for investing in strategies that promote competence development and learning also exist. The purpose of this paper was to examine how the process of competence development was managed at a large global company. The empirical material consisted of four persons who were interviewed and the analysis of the material was inspired by grounded theory.From the analysis four major themes or core factors emerged as central to the interviewed persons' understanding of the competence development process; solid preparatory work in relation to competence development, communication, awareness of responsibilities and finally the taking action and evaluation of the action.

Global climate change is one of the greatest challenges in our history. As the average temperature is rising due to anthropogenic emissions, impacts such as floods, droughts and hurricanes, affect the lives of millions of people. Though the least developed countries are least responsible for emissions, they are the worst affected. This thesis focuses on environmental justice in the adaptation discourse. By outlining the adaptation discourse from the United Framework Convention on Climate Change principles, to the Marrakesh Accords, via the Kyotoprotocol my ambition is to analyse how environmental justice has been interpreted in relation to the adaptation discourse.

This essay seeks to analyze the consequences of modern information and communication technology for collective action within the framework of social movements. With references to the protests in Seattle 1999, the essay argues that the emergence of distributed collective action is closely related to the use of technology, for example cell phones and Internet. This distributed collective action can be characterized by its decentralized and self-organizing features, forming a global pattern emerging from local interactions. Whereas contemporary theories of collective action can be ´stretched´ to fit these aspects, they lack analytical tools to describe and analyze such systems. Further, their rejection of classical crowd theory is problematic, since it contains valuable insights.

In southern Sweden, beech (Fagus silvatica) and spruce (Picea abies) are two species with similar demands on soil properties. With increased global warming and high acid deposition the future may bring larger areas were the two species are overlapping, competing for the same soil. The aim of this study was to compare spruce and beech concerning distribution, cultivation and soil properties. From available data comparisons were made between spruce and beech forests in Sweden. Soil analyses were made on samples from beech forest in southern Sweden, with and without natural regeneration of spruce.

I takt med en ökad internationalisering och hårdnad global konkurrens ställs större krav på morgondagens entreprenörer. I Uppsala kommun har den omfattande kapaciteten inom utbildning och forskning uppfattats som ett särskilt viktigt verktyg för att möta dessa utmaningar, varför studiens fokus riktas på hur de entreprenörskapsfrämjande aktörerna som existerar kring Uppsala universitet tillsammans verkar för att skapa förutsättningar för studenter och forskare. Syftet med denna uppsats är således att erhålla en så pass heltäckande bild som möjligt av detta nätverk av relationer för att sedan kunna analysera hur dessa kan vidareutvecklas. För att besvara detta syfte har en kvalitativ fallstudie genomförts, där studien primärt fokuserade på fyra aktörer som ansågs vara särskilt vitala. Studiens resultat visar på att det finns goda möjligheter för vidareutveckling genom bland annat ökade resurs- och aktivitetsutbyten mellan olika aktörer..

In this report focus is put on the combustion process at a cement plant. Combustion is the heart of the cement making process and absolutely crucial to have under full control and well optimized. The fuel is put into the process through a burner pipe and this burner pipe is modified to reach a more efficient combustion. The primary target is to enable burning of heterogeneous alternative fuels and increase the production level. Other positive effects from this type of optimization is lowered specific fuel consumption and lowered CO2 emissions. A redundant burner is chosen for the project and overall the project steps are the following: 1. Eleven years after broking the Kyoto-protocol, the European Union still stands in the front line, combating climate change. How come the EU, with 27 diversified states, is able to integrate its members to what is widely considered the most progressive climate policy in the world? This thesis takes a closer look at the negotiations that have shaped EU climate policy. Using negotiation-models to categorize different aspects of EU climatenegotiations, several key-findings are presented. The thesis concludes that while EU entered the Kyoto-protocol with little to lose because of external factors like previous energy-reforms in key member countries, it had plenty to win in global influence and the satisfaction of an overwhelmingly Kyoto-positive public.

The amount of information stored on the internet grows daily and naturally the requirements on the systems used to search for and analyse information increases. As a part in meeting the raised requirements this study investigates if it is possible for a automatised text analysis system to distinguish certain groups and categories of words in a text, and more specifically investigate if it is possible to distinguish words with a high information value from words with a low information value. This is important to enable optimizations of systems for global surveillance and information retrieval. The study is carried out using word spaces, which are often used in text analysis to model language. The distributional character of certain categories of words is examined by studying the intrinsic dimensionality of the space, locally around different words.

Kinas och Rysslands nuvarande relationer präglas av samförstånd och samarbete. Det kinesiskryskaavtalet från 2001 kan ses som ett uttryck för fred och stabilitet, men också som ett uttryckför makt och globalt positionerande, i synnerhet med de kinesisk-ryska relationerna satta i ett historisktperspektiv. Frågan är vilka drivkrafter som kan ligga bakom Kinas och Rysslands närmandetill varandra. Genom en spelteoretisk analys identifierar denna uppsats möjliga motiv tillpartnerskapet i politiska, militära, ekonomiska samt externa avseenden, sett utifrån den sammanvägdanyttan av partnerskap jämfört med icke-partnerskap. Resultatet visar att motiven kan relaterastill det gemensamma intresset att skapa global maktbalans, men kan också kopplas till ömsesidigaberoenden mellan Kina och Ryssland som gör ett nära samarbete nödvändigt.

When Norway spruce is planted with large initial spacing and grows on highly productive sites in southern Sweden, a high proportion of the stems gets broad annual rings. The thinning programme carried out at the estate of Trolleholm aims to extract stems with too broad ring width. The 3-4 first thinnings are carried out as thinning from above, where only the thickest trees are removed. The internal distance may not fall below 5-7 meters depending on the number of thinning (short distance in young stands). The aim of this study was to examine the thinning model that is carried out at the estate of Trolleholm. A volume table is calculated to describe the model, and data is collected on temporary plots.
