There are three main purposes for this thesis; the first is to distinguish the possible violations that can occur in time of natural disasters. The second is to analyze if there is a correlation between political systems and how the effected country handles the aftermath of a natural disaster. The third purpose is to determine the role of the global community and what responsibility lies with them. The issue is often that the aid becomes the main object for discussion and analysis, but the focus rarely shifts to the effected State. Therefore the focus in this essay is the political system and how they cope with the human rights violations that can occur in a time of natural disaster.

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva arbetet i ett antal revisionsutskott samt att diskutera hur detta arbete har påverkat extern revision och intern kontroll. Metod: En kombination av kvantitativ och kvalitativ metod har använts. Datainsamling har genomförts i form av intervjuer och dokumentstudier. Uppsatsens forskningsansats har varit abduktiv och deskriptiv. Teoretiskt perspektiv: De teoretiska perspektiv som använts är tagna från Svensk kod för bolagsstyrning, dels den gällande dels den reviderade.

The world is in a stage of climate crisis where the average temperature is rising, with consequences such as, melting ice sheets, increasing sea levels, and floods. The climate panel of the UN, IPCC, has stated that this is a reaction of anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases. The most important gas is carbon dioxide, which contributes with 80 per cent to the on going climate crisis.The increasing emissions of carbon dioxide are connected to human consumption patterns. This puts pressure on the earth, as humans demand more and more resources. Today the earth needs one and a half year to regenerate the resources humans? demand of it, by the year 2030 we will need two planets in order to cope with this increasing demand of resources.At a global level it is established that richer countries have a stronger consumption pattern than poorer, and thus generate higher levels of carbon dioxide emissions.

Företags samhällsansvar (Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR) är ett väl debatterat begrepp som uppmärksammats allt mer i bland annat media, men även av företag. Däremot är begreppet konsumenters samhällsansvar inte lika uppmärksammat trots att det finns en interaktion mellan konsumenters- och företags samhällsansvar. Forskare framhåller att det finns bristfälligt med teorier om konsumenters samhällsansvar samt att definitionen är viktig för att fortsätta driva CSR-debatten, vilket gör ämnet relevant att studera. Studien syfte är att med utgångspunkt i samhällsansvarsmodeller på företagsnivå, utveckla en definition och en tentativ samhällsansvarsmodell på konsumentnivå. Slutsatsen baseras på en kvalitativ undersökning utifrån 15 intervjuer samt teorier som behandlar definitioner och modeller om samhällsansvar.

Bakgrund: I dagens samhälle ökar medvetenheten om vår omgivning mer och mer. Miljö, samhälls- och etiska frågor blir allt viktigare att ta hänsyn till, både för privatpersoner och för företag. Banksektorn har länge legat på efterkälken när det kommer till hållbarhetsredovisning. Dock blir bankernas intressenter mer och mer medvetna om hållbarhetsfrågor och för att vara konkurrenskraftiga har bankerna därför börjat engagera sig i detta. Dock kostar engagemanget både tid och pengar för bankerna så därför gäller det att mervärdet av hållbarhetsarbetet är större än de resurser som läggs ner.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka varför endast vissa banker väljer att hållbarhetsredovisa enligt GRI, samt varför de banker som redovisar enligt GRI väljer att stanna på en B- eller C-nivå.

When someone dies there will always be an inheritance, an inheritance that earlier has been seen as a national concern. However, every year there are about 450 000 deaths within the European Union linked to more than one country, either when the deceased has changed his state of residence or when he has assets in another state, for example a Swedish national with a summer house in Spain. The problem is to determine which na-tional law that is supposed to be applicable to the inheritance.There are two principles that can be applicable on the choice of law, the principle of na-tionality and the principle of residency. If the principle of nationality is used the inherit-ance will be regulated by the deceased`s citizenship while the principle of residency takes aim on the deceased´s last domicile instead. Conflicts can occur between the two principles so that the legacy must be divided between two different legislations.In October 2009 the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and enforcement of decisions and authentic instruments in matters of succession and the creation of a European Certificate of Succession was presented, a regulation that will try to create harmonized rules on in-teralia the inheritance matters.

Major changes within the agricultural politics today have forced the dairy production to scaleup, in order to compete on a global market. This has resulted in a reduction in the number ofsmaller dairy farms in Sweden, from about 40000 to just over 4000 over the last 30 years. Thepurpose of this study Svenska mjölkbönder, snart ett minne blott? ? Markbygdensmjölkbönder i tankar om mjölkproduktionens nuvarande situation och framtidsutsikter, is topresent the opinions of dairy farmers in Sweden, regarding the Swedish dairy industry and therelation to their own dairy production. A secondary purpose is to problematize how theconsequences of pastures and cultural landscapes influences human society as dairy farms andgrazing animals are becoming fewer.

Företagsvärlden, med avseende på företagets mognad och om de väljer hemmamarknaden eller den internationella marknaden som den primära, tidigare var indelad i tre större områden. Dock har det under de senaste åren skapats en fjärde typ av företag, Born Globals. Dessa företag utnyttjar det faktum att världen virtuellt sett har blivit mindre, exempelvis genom användandet av Internet. Dessa verkar skilja sig från de traditionella företagen i både struktur och tillvägagångssätt. Vi analyserar därför i denna studie möjligheten att applicera traditionella affärsmodellsteorier på de nya Born Global företagen. Studien avser även delvis att identifiera potentiella faktorer för teoretiskt skapande av nya affärsmodellsteorier, men också till att identifiera en grund till en modell som Born Global företagen praktiskt kan använda i uppstartsfasen.Hur kan dagens traditionella affärsmodellsteorier appliceras på de moderna Born Global företagen, vilken är den eventuella diskrepansen och varför?För att besvara problemformuleringen på bästa sätt genomförde vi fyra djupintervjuer med nystartade företag som avser operera på den internationella marknaden redan i uppstartsfasen.

BAKGRUND: De som drabbats av svåra livshändelser (här begränsade till skilsmässa eller make/makas död) betraktas som en riskgrupp när det gäller både allmän hälsa och munhälsa.SYFTE: Att undersöka om och i vilken mån svåra livshändelser (skilsmässa eller make/makas död) påverkar den allmänna hälsan och munhälsan, samt vilka aspekter av munhälsa som en global munhälsofråga kan fånga upp.MATERIAL OCH METOD: Studien utfördes som en kvantitativ studie med en enkät om munhälsa som delades ut till samtliga födda 1942 i Örebro och Östergötlands län under 2007. Svarsfrekvensen var 73,1% av totalt 8313 individer. Både allmän hälsa och munhälsa mättes med hjälp av en global fråga. Munhälsan mättes dessutom med sex ytterligare frågor. Deskriptiv analys gjordes, skillnader mellan grupper testades och kompletterades med logistiska regressionsanalyser.RESULTAT: Det finns en statistiskt signifikant skillnad mellan dem som är frånskilda och/eller änka/änkling jämfört med dem som är gifta/sambo.

It is essential to reuse- and recycles residues to decrease the amount of deposit materials and reach sustainable energy use. Two ways to work towards this is to recycle wood ashes to the forest as nutrient compensation and extract biogas from combustion of biomass.The aim with this study was to decide whether wood ashes that been used for biogas upgrading with accelerated carbonation also can be used as a nutrient compensation in the woods according to recommendations from the Swedish Forest Agency (Skogsstyrelsen).The ashes that were used in this study came from Johan Andersson who works at JTI in Uppsala, who also treated the ashes with biogas. The ashes have, in both untreated and treated condition, been analyzed in this study according to contents of elements, leaching properties, hardening properties and contents of crystalline phases, to evaluate what impact carbonation with biogas has on the ashes.The accelerated carbonation led to hardening of the ash, and decreased amount of CaO- and increased amount of CaCO3. The CO2-uptake also entails a dilution of the elements, and the content of nutrients and trace elements decreases. However the results show an indication of an uptake of S from the biogas to the ash, since the dilution had a smaller impact on S than the rest of the elements.

The essay examines managers reflection after attending a leader development program. When examining their thoughts the author starts out from the assumption that leader development programs with reflecting elements can create reflection on management/leadership and the organisations management behaviour. The examination is done whit help of a case study on a company in the paint industry. To test the assumption the author uses a combination of questioners and interviews on eight managers who has finished a leader development program. The result is analysed by bringing forward the managers general assumptions an by finding relations between opinions on needs, existing norms and preferred management/leadership.

Jag valde att i min uppsats behandla den svenska Koden för bolagsstyrning(Corporate Governance) och mitt syfte var att göra en jämförelse mellan Kodensoch Aktiebolagslagens regler för bolagsstyrning För att lyckas med detta har jaganvänt mig av den traditionella juridiska metoden och utgått från denrättsdogmatiska ansatsen.Bolagen ska, enligt Koden, offentliggöra tid och plats för stämman i sambandmed att tredje kvartalsrapporten lämnas. I god tid ska bolaget på sin hemsidainformera om aktieägarnas rätt att få ärende behandlat av stämman och Kodenhar även noterat ett ökat internationellt ägande i svenskt näringsliv och därförska bolaget överväga om stämman ska simultantolkas. Även regeln om att manska kunna delta i bolagsstämma från annan ort underlättar för utländska ägare.En av de stora nyheterna i Koden är att bolagen ska ha en valberedning meduppgift att nominera kandidater till styrelsen, ge förslag till arvodering avstyrelsen, nominera revisor och föreslå arvode till revisorn. Bolagen ska även haett revisionsutskott, med ansvar för kvalitetssäkra den finansiellarapporteringen, och ett ersättningsutskott med ansvar för att bereda förslag tillprinciper för ersättningar och andra anställningsvillkor för bolagsledningen.Utöver att stärka ägarnas position är informationsgivning Kodens nyckelord. Påbolagets hemsida ska en speciell plats skapas där all information som krävsenligt Koden ska vara lätt tillgänglig.
