Ungdomskulturer på institution : kan personalen påverka?
The purpose of the study was, with initial position from two particular youth homes, to survey the staff?s experiences regarding different youth cultures that might occur at the institutions and how they react to them. The question formulations were as follows: What kind of youth cultures might occur at the institution and how are they being expressed, according to some of the staff members? How do the same staff members, individually, see their role and prospect to influence the type of youth culture that is developing on the institution? Earlier research in the field were used as theoretical starting positions as well as the concepts of ?looking-glass self?, ?the generalized other? and ?the overtaking of roles? in the symbolic-interactionism. Qualitative research interviews were carried through with three of the employees at the two youth homes and the results of the study evinced that both positive and negative youth cul-tures develops at both of the institutions, concluding the fact that youths affect each other both ways.

Theories from museum studies show that the importance of rendering authenticity now has become the new imperative in order to retain the status of a reputable institution. Ungdomars erfarenhet av miljöterapi : ett könsperspektiv
Syftet med studien var att utifrån ett könsperspektiv undersöka ungdomars erfarenhet och upplevelse av miljöterapeutisk behandling på institution. Fokus låg på ungdomarnas tankar kring syftet och nyttan med miljöterapin, aktiviteterna i den, relationerna med personalen och de andra ungdomarna på institutionen. Skillnader och likheter inom och mellan könen studerades sedan. Undersökningen byggde på semistrukturerade intervjuer med fyra ungdomar som är eller har varit placerade på institution. Resultaten analyserades i relation till tidigare forskning om ungdomar på institution och Judith Butlers teoretiska perspektiv om kön, performativitet och könslikheter.
Behandlingsklimat & behandlingssammanbrott på en LVU-institution : Behandlingsklimat & behandlingssammanbrott på en LVU-institution
Denna studie belyser sex stycken behandlingsassistenter, verksamma på en LVU-institutions uppfattningar om vad ett behandlingsklimat utgörs av, vad ett behandlingssammanbrott är samt om ett behandlingsklimat kan minska behandlingssammanbrotten. Behandlingssammanbrott är av stort intresse då det lagts fram att ett sammanbrott kan leda till sämre prognos för ett behandlingsresultat.Studien har ett interaktionistiskt synsätt som teoretisk utgångspunkt. Empirin har samlats in med intervjuer av sex stycken behandlingsassistenter.Syftet med studien är att få fördjupad kunskap om några behandlares kunskap och erfarenhet av behandlingsklimatet vid institutionsvård av unga. Studien belyser även behandlingsklimat i relation till behandlingssammanbrott.Resultatet vad gäller behandlingsklimatet visar att de intervjuade ser resurser som en stark faktor för behandlingsklimatet, samt att säkerhet och trygghet är grundläggande. Resultatet har även visat att det kan finnas två sidor av ett behandlingssammanbrott..
Det svenska områdesskyddet : Ett samspel mellan diskurs och institutioner
Sweden has had laws protecting nature for about a hundred years. In this paper the views of nature and the values that serve as a rationale for protective measures are analyzed as results of a social process characterized by the dialectic relationship between institutions and discourse. Critical discourse analysis (CDA) is used to study this relationship and the discursive practices used by institutions, which reproduce or reshape views of nature that define the relationship between society and nature. Institutional design contributes to shaping discourse in the field of nature protection, while being originally shaped by discourse. In Sweden, the national park is an institution that reproduces a view of nature as the wild and untamed opposite of society, and the natural reserves reproduce a view of nature as holder of a multi-faceted set of values intertwined with society.
En meningsfull möjlighet att säga sin mening? : Petitioner och JO-anmälningar som politiskt deltagande i Tyskland och Sverige
This thesis compares political participation by the public through the Swedish Parliamentary Ombudsman (PO) and the German Petitions Committee of the Bundestag (PC). Through studies of literature and statistics I examine how citizens can participate through the institutions, how frequently they do and the likelihood of sparking a debate while participating.Using media theories as well as theories of participatory and representative democracy I study how citizens can use these institutions for purposes of control and proposition.Both institutions deal with complaints but the PC also deals with propositions for legislation, making the institution more versatile. The PO deals with more cases than the PC and has more far-reaching competences and areas of inspection, although neither institution has binding decisions. Thus the direct advantage for citizens using the institutions is the chance of reaching out to media and the public through freedom of information laws and the German online petition forum.The PC to a larger extent fits the representative model while the PO in some respects is more a legal than a political institution, being managed by lawyers instead of MPs. Neither institution meets the ideals of participatory politics although the German official petition is closer to it..
It takes a new way to think to solve the problems we created by the old way to think ? Social welfare secretaries thoughts about family-placement on institution
The purpose with this essay is to take part of the process when a family is placed on the family-institution, Trollbacken. We want to know what makes the social welfare secretaries place a family in institutional care. Has Trollbacken lived up to the social welfare secretary expectations and are the social welfare secretaries following Trollbackens recommendation regarding the follow up treatment. We also want to know to what value the social welfare secretary assigns Trollbackens investigation and are they able to see changes in the family due to the placing on Trollbacken. The method is qualitative and is based on interviews from six social welfare secretaries that work around and in West Sweden.
Ett utökat chefskaps effekter på ledarnas arbetssituation : En studie av funktionsledarnas nya roll på länsstyrelsen i Kronobergslän
Undersökningen rör funktionsledarnas nya roll på Länsstyrelsen i Kronobergslän. Den nya rollen är ett utökat chefskap som är en del av en omorganisering. Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur det utökade chefskapet hos funktionsledarna påverkar deras, roll och arbetsgemenskap samt vilka effekter ett ledarskap längre ner i organisationen medför. Teorier kring roll, ledarskap, organisation och institution har används. Metoden som använts är främst intervjuer.
Den informella högskolereformen? : En explorativ fallstudie om högskolereformers påverkan på anställda inom högskolesektorn
This is a case study that explores the ways in which implemented university reforms have affected employees in the higher educational sector. Previous research within the research field has mainly focused on policy related consequences of the reforms. This is why a study that brings attention to the ways the reforms have affected employees is sorely needed.The aim with the study is to examine whether there is a discrepancy between formal changes and the ways the employees experience them. The study is based on interviews with 8 lecturers from two universities and the material is analyzed mainly through sociological neo-institutional theories, such as Richard Scott?s theory of the three pillars within an informal institution and Helmke and Levintskys theory of the relationship between formal and informal institutions.The results show that there is a discrepancy between the formal changes and the ways employees perceive them.

Uppsatsen syfte är att undersöka hur normalitet skapas på låst institution, detta genom att undersöka hur kategorier som kön och sexualitet skapas genom talet. Våra frågeställningar är:Hur skapar behandlingspersonalen, genom sitt tal, ungdomars kön på låst institution, hur skapas kön i behandlingspersonalens beskrivningar av ungdomarnas problematik, hur skapas kön i behandlingspersonalens beskrivningar av ungdomarnas sexualitet? Vi använder oss av diskursanalys som metod med en teoretisk utgångspunkt i socialkonstruktionismen. Vi använder oss av och problematiserar begreppen kön, sexualitet, makt och diskurs. Vårt material utgörs av intervjuer med behandlingspersonal på två låsta institutioner, en för flickor och en för pojkar.
En praktisk lösning - om styrningsteknologier inom könsutredningar
The purpose of this article is to explore the technologies of government that are created within gender disorder assessments as an institution. I have done so by utilizing Norman Faircloughs discourse analysing instrument ?communicative action?, which focus on the social institution as relational.The material is strategically chosen by gathering texts from the Swedish state, the psychiatric clinics, NGO:s and by performing interviews with transsexual patients.When analysing the communication of the main agents, I have concluded that practices highly are a result of repeating text and speech inside the institution. The psychiatric assessments can also be seen as an illustration in changes in how citizens are governed in advanced liberal societies, where the role of the state has been gradually reduced in favour of other agents.I consider that the change illustrates an ?acting at a distance?-mentality where the patient is introduced to participate in the definition of the care in what I call ?negotiation as a technology?.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att ta reda på vad som styr antalet placeringar av barn och ungdomar på institution. För att besvara detta har fyra kvalitativa intervjuer med två IFO-chefer och två socialsekreterare gjorts. Intervjuerna har sökt svar på dessa frågor: Har det placerats färre barn och ungdomar på institution under 2009 jämfört med 2008? Har resurserna minskat i och med lågkonjunkturen? Vad anser socialtjänsten om institutionsplacering för barn och ungdomar? Använder man sig hellre av andra typer av metoder (än institutionsplacering) för att hjälpa barn och unga som har behov av det? När blir placering på institution det enda alternativet? Hur illa ska det vara för att det ska vara den enda utvägen? Finns det en oförmåga hos skolan att finnas till för alla elever? : En intervjustudie om resursskolan
The aim of this study was to gain a better understanding of resource schools 1 as a human services organization and institution, based on teachers and principals? perspectives. The purpose of resource schools is to provide the students tools and resources to enable them to return to the regular school within two years. The study also aims to examine more closely how this objective applies to the studied resource schools in the studied municipality, as well as highlighting the success factors and barriers that exist to achieve the goal. Previous studies show that this kind of differential practice tends to become a permanent solution.
Konflikter på jobbet : En kvalitativ studie om enhetschefens dialog med medarbetarna i konfliktsituationer
The aim of this study was to get knowledge of the communicationprocess between the branch head and the co-worker in communal geriatric care. To narrow it down we focused on how the branch head experience the communicationprocess in conflictsituations between co-workers and what she or he usually do to resolve the conflict. We made qualitative interviews with ten of the branch heads in communal geriatric care, in four communes. The questions we had in mind throughout the study was based on four keywords (communication, leadership, conflict and conflict management) of which we created a narrative story from every interviewing person to get hold of the experience and knowledge behind their interviews. In our analysis as theoretical perspectives we used system theory, communication theory, attribution theory and the philosophy of Dialogue by Martin Buber.
