The Swedish boat industry is considered quite conservative and subject to only limited development. The purpose of the study is to explain the structure of the boat industry, to analyze and evaluate ways of competing and provide recommendations for developing a competitive strategy. The aim of this thesis is to explain how to be competitive in the Swedish boat industry. To be able to do so three areas are used to deepen as well as broaden the understanding. The three areas within competitiveness we have chosen to highlight are differentiation, individualization and distribution.

Sweden's aging population makes the need for a viable health care urgent and telemedicine can be a solution to enable older people to receive or give themselves care in their homes. Furthermore, implementation of telemedicine has the potential to realise profits in society by increasing the accessibility of health care and minimizing travel costs. Sweden?s low population density and geographical configuration makes the advantages of telemedicine even more appealing. To illustrate the differences between the county councils? use of telemedicine and thus increasing the possibility for coordinated care between them, the authors have on behalf of the Innovation Centre at the Karolinska University hospital mapped the amount of telemedicine technologies that are available in the Swedish county councils? today. To collect information an electronic survey and video or telephone interviews were used.

The number of sawmills in Sweden has decreased dramatically since the 1980s and the trend looks set to continue. The sawmills that are left instead becomes larger and are situated farther apart. In northern Sweden, they are concentrated along the coastline.In our study, we compared conditions for running a sawmill in inland areas and coastal areas and looked at what factors have the greatest impact on the profitability of the sawmill in northern Sweden.We chose to compare different locals conditions for a sawmill that only sawn pine timber and had an annual raw material requirements of 300 000 m3ub per year. By analyzing the kNN-data from the Swedish National Forest Inventory we have taken out the size of the timber volume at each site and its catchment. We have also looked at possible competitors in the areas that may affect the purchase price of the commodity.

During the 17th century the production and distribution of printed works increased in Stockholm and Uppsala. However, all works that the publisher wanted to print, did not reach the reader. This thesis aimed to show when, where and how printed books and dissertations did not reach the reader. To achieve this aim, aspects of several well known models showing systems of book production and distribution were combined and adapted to suit Swedish conditions in the 17th century. This combined model focused on processes of selection and was presented and used as a theoretical approach.

Denna undersökning behandlar vilka faktorer som påverkar multinationella tillverkande företag när de väljer att placera kontrollen över sin internationella fysiska distribution (IPD) hos moderbolaget eller det utländska dotterbolaget.Undersökningen är genomförd hos sju elektroniktillverkande företag i Stockholmsområdet. Datainsamlingen har främst skett genom kvalitativa intervjuer med utvalda personer anställda på företagen, samt via elektroniska källor som tillhandahölls av företagen.Undersökningen syftar till att analysera faktorer som påverkar multinationella företag när de väljer placering av kontrollen över den internationella fysiska distributionen.Analysen visar på att de faktorer som i störst utsträckning påverkar multinationella företag vid detta beslut är deras egen omsättning samt erfarenhet av att vara ett multinationellt företag.Slutsatsen för denna undersökning blir följaktligen att ett multinationellt företag väljer placering av kontrollen beroende på vilken fas företaget befinner sig i. Bakgrund: De senaste åren har alltmer musik börjat distribueras digitalt via Internet. Detta har framförallt skett via fildelningsnätverk men under de senaste två åren har allt fler legala tjänster växt fram. Prisnivån hos dessa tjänster är väldigt enhetlig och återförsäljarna har små marginaler på sin försäljning. Teorier påstår att Internet ger möjligheten att skära bort delar i distributionskedjan och det kan leda till lägre priser. Internet ger också ökade möjligheter att ändra priser på daglig basis.

Tack vare bättre och bättre förutsättningar för utveckling av mobila applikationer, samt utbredning av internetbaserade tjänster, presenteras här ett underlag inför val av mobil utvecklingsplattform. De undersökta plattformarna är Android och Iphone på grund av deras växande utbredning på smartphonemarknaden. Studien presenterar förutsättningar för att utveckla webbtjänst-understödda applikationer för intern distribuering. Ett visuellt tilltalande användargränssnitt är också i fokus för den typen av applikation studien riktar sig mot.Vi har kommit fram till att Android är lättare att lära sig om man kommer ifrån en Java- eller .Netmiljö samt lättare att distribuera. Iphone har däremot bättre stöd för att utveckla grafiskt tilltalande applikationer.

The purpose of the project is to determine the impact of solar cells and electrical vehicles on the future electricity grid and distribution network. Future electricity grids will be affected differently than it does today. Therefore, it is important to determine the impacts so that the current electricity distribution system can be developed and redesign to achieve the future demand. In Sweden, government has changed rules and laws in order to make it easier for private sector to invest in renewable energy sources. Our project focused on the impact of the solar cells and electric vehicles on the low voltage electricity distribution.

The purpose of this paper is to show how practicing teachers work to prevent racism. Based on four interviews with teachers at low-, middle- and high schools, where these schools differ in numbers of immigrants and geographical location. Conclusion: None of the four teachers feel that racism is a problem at their school; however, they are confident that some racism is present at their school. In a time of economic turmoil and financial crisis profitability matters rise higher and higher on company agendas. Many companies are pressured to find profitability to avoid layoffs or even bankruptcy. Profitability essentially depends on the margin on the product or service sold and the costs associated with selling these products or services and hence these areas are of vital importance if companies are to improve profitability. Previous research has focused, for the most part, on product profitability while customer profitability has received less attention. This study is based on a case study of a Swedish publishing house and aims to investigate how the company?s Cost-to-Serve varies between its distribution channels.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine if POC manage to keep cohort interplay between their identity and image.Theoretical framework: This paper is led from theories in area about communicating identity and image. The theories that are relevant to this paper to see the interplay between identity and image is communication theory and brand theories based on associations. From these theories we have composed a model that shows the communication led from identity throughout image in company?s with many distribution channels. It shows what associations that build identity and image and also the complication and threat that the interplay is being exposed to.Methodology: We have chosen to do this examination as a case study.

The basic ingredient of paper is the individual wood fibers. The property of the fibers depends on a variety of factors e.g., method of pulp production and processing. The final sheet quality depends in part on how the fibers interface between each other and therefore factors that affect the fiber size are of interest.The flexibility of the fibers depends in part on the pore water i.e., the fiber swelling. The sheet becomes less flexible at low water content which gives a loss in strength. Thus it becomes desirable to increase the water uptake.The experimental investigation described in this report consists of exposing the wood fibers to different ions and ionic strength and then measure the pore size by thermoporosimetry where a DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) is used.
