In the discourse of teaching it?s often mentioned that the pupil?s previous knowledge and experience plays an important part in the process of learning. For the teachers it?s in general crucial to be familiar with their pupils abilities and skills, talents and shortcomings in order to successfully teach them. Knowledge and an understanding of their pupils, also helps the teacher to organize and customize a successful teaching for each individual.

Fiolteknik i folkmusikundervisningen

Title: Violin technique in folk music education. The purpose of this research has been to examine how violin teachers who are folk musicians teach violin playing techniques. Through litterature studies and qualitative interviews I have studied the relationship between teaching methods regarding violin playing techniques of the two Genres folk music and classical music and how the teachers in the study relate to this. Mywork shows that the teachers use a variety of methods and material from both Genres which they have come in contact with through different parts of their education.Jag har undersökt hur fyra fiollärare inom genren folkmusik arbetar med fiolteknik med sina elever. Genom litteraturstudier och kvalitativa intervjuer har jag undersökt relationen mellan undervisningstraditioner för teknikövning inom genrerna folkmusik och klassisk musik och hur lärarna förhåller sig till detta.

Språkutvecklande arbetssätt : En kvalitativ studie om hur lärare arbetar med halvspråkiga elever

The purpose of this study was to examine how teachers conduct their teaching to be language developing, and how they in a practical way work with semi-speaking students who have language deficits in the Swedish language and / or their native language. To carry out this study, I used qualitative interviews as a method and I have interviewed six teachers working at a high school.The school that these teachers work at execute a language developing teaching throughout all the courses in the school. All teachers have a similar idea of what language developing work is, however, how they go about and what is emphasized most in the teaching differs. The reason for this is because these teachers have different experiences with the language developing teaching. These professionals agree that this approach is very important and that all teachers, regardless of subject, should work in a language developing way, in parallel with the rest of their subjects.

Dystopi och jordens undergång : En genreanalys av dystopiska inslag i fiktiv film

This study is a research on how dystopian features are expressed within different Genres. The purpose is to discuss films that contain dystopian features in relation to genre and to examine if there are shared conventions in the films that can make dystopia a film genre on its own. The theoretical base includes genre theory and Rick Altman?s semantic/syntactic approach to film genre. Five films from different Genres, all produced within the time period of 2000-2010, are analyzed with a semantic/syntactic approach to genre and then discussed in relation to dystopia and prior research.

"Frälzaren" : En studie i anva?ndningen av religio?sa metaforer i fotbollsrapporteringen i sportjournalistik

The aim of this study was to examine how sports journalists used religious metaphors when covering football during the time span of the study, and how the athletes were portrayed as a result of the usage. The aim was also to study if the usage differed between the two newspapers chosen for the study, one of which is a morning paper (Dagens Nyheters sport section) and one which is an evening paper (Sportbladet).To answer our questions we used a quantitative and a qualitative method, the later of the two was based on a metaphor analysis. The quantitative method consisted of a content analysis where different variables were examined. The time span of the study is articles from one year.The results show that the religious metaphors were used in many ways. Some religious metaphors, such as ones including the word miracle, were more prominent than others.

Science fiction-litteratur ? Hur gör folkbiblioteken i praktiken? En studie av fyra bibliotek.

This essay aims to examine how science fiction literature is supported and made available for readers at four public libraries. Each library has its own opinion of what a public library?s role in society is, and that affects how literature acquisition and media exposure is done at that particular library. To explore this, the author uses a modified version of Elzinga and Andersson?s theory of traditionalism, pragmatism and emancipationism.

Musikavdelningar ur ett tidsperspektiv : En kvalitativ studie av musikavdelningarna på fem folkbibliotek

The aim of this study is to examine how work at music departments in public libraries has changed with time. To analyze this, the role of music libraries as well as music library users, selection, holdings, acquisition and technological development have been examined. The examined data consists of qualitative interviews with music librarians and library assistants at public libraries in Sweden. To get a time perspective, handbooks and articles about music departments in libraries have also been analyzed.This study emanates from Sanna Talja?s discourse analysis of music libraries in Finland.

En trädgård, en boksamling och det väl valda ordet : genrepedagogik för skriftspråksutveckling hos framgångsrika respektive mindre framgångsrika skriftspråkare i gymnasiet

This is a qualitative analysis that, based on systemic functional linguistics, or SFL, and genre theory, has aimed to study the genre pedagogical implications on written language as they occur in narrative stories and expositions whilst the model is introduced. Systemic functional linguistics is a linguistic theory that views the organisation of language as functional options for meaning; language is a set of resources to channel meaning through realisation. Genre theory elucidates the pragmatic and educational uses of SFL in the categorizing of language in configurations of meanings as they are set and understood in different cultures.  The purpose of the survey is to do so with focus on successful and less successful writers by attempting to answer two primal issues:How is development of written language in reference to the introduction of the genre pedagogical model visible in the studied texts?How does genre pedagogical teaching influence successful and less successful writers as visible in their writing with a certain purpose?To answer these issues the survey is based on narratives and expositions written by high school students who have been divided into two groups according to the purpose of the survey. One text in each genre has been written by the students before and after lessons based on the genre pedagogical learning wheel explaining the relevant Genres.

Perceptuell identifiering av musikgenre

This is a study in the field of Music Information Retrieval (MIR) concerning classification of musicgenre. The study uses a music listening experiment and machine learning methods to determinewhether or not the drum sounds from different songs contain sufficient information to classifygenre.MIR methods are used to extract data from the audio signals. The data is used together with theclassification results of the listening experiment to train different machine learning algorithms toclassify the songs in different Genres.The results indicate that using only drum sounds for genre classifications works well, both forlisteners and for machine learning methods..

Vad är äkta countrymusik? - En genres strävan efter det genuina

The purpose of the present study has been to explore if there is an agreement between people about what to call real country music. Three Swedish people who are interested in country music have described this music by means of interviews. The interviews have been analysed and compared with literature dealing with country music, and the result of the study presents three conceptions: authenticity, simplicity and contextual comprehension. The conclusion is that there seems to be some common views about what real country music is but that these conceptions are not defined in exactly the same way by different people..

Swedish films are often based on the Genres romance and comedy. The films dealing with relations and comedy can almost be seen as a genre of its own. The composition of the complex relation between the audience and the genre is the primary research focus of this thesis. With the teoretical ground in intertextuality, sociology and romances the thesis examines three relations in three different films. In this essay I analyse three of my own texts included in an unpublished collection entitled till Narcissus' minne. Genres are discussed and a detailed study of how the writing process has progressed is done. The essay does not follow any specific literary or scholarly method of analysis, but to some extent the sphere of interpretation is explored. By associative interpretation the special logic of dreaming, the activity of the unconsciousness and the expansive accessibility of the memories, which characterize the texts, is traced. These structural features open a link to the way of psychoanalytical interpretation, but the essay does not strive for a complete account.

This essay examines an excerpt of the wide range of animated films that our children has access to in Sweden today.It takes up questions about what kind of messages the films are delivering, if there are certain patterns that are being followed, differences between the films relating to the cultures where they?re from, but above all, what the hero is about and what kind of shape he or she assumes.
