Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att ta reda på vilka metoder några lärare använder för att främja elevernas läslust, vilka genrer lärarna anser att eleverna bör läsa och vad eleverna faktiskt läser. Jag ville också ta reda på om lärarnas bild av elevernas läsvanor stämde. Jag har intervjuat tre lärare i årskurserna fyra respektive fem samt via enkäter kart­lagt deras 52 elevers läsvanor. Resultatet visade att lärarna använde en mängd olika strategier för att främja läslusten, även om de fokuserade på att hitta rätt bok till varje elev. Precis som lärarna förutsåg var elevernas läsvanor väldigt skiftande, både när man ser på mängden de läser och vilken genre de läser respektive tycker bäst om.

Elevers möte med skolan innebär ett möte med ett brett innehåll som innefattar en uppsjö av olika sätt att använda språk. Denna variation i språkande har inte alltid visat sig vara tydligt uttalat för eleven. En hel del forskning har riktats mot undersökning av de texter elever möter och de språkliga praktiker som kringligger texterna. När det däremot kommer till elevens uppfattningar av texter har forskningen visat sig vara begränsad; detta gäller i synnerhet skrivande i olika genrer. Syftet med uppsatsen är således att öka förståelse inom området.I studien intervjuades 12 elever i årskurs 5 om deras uppfattningar av skrivande.

Based on the model of critical literacy I am arguing that this genre would help to meet the objectives of the policy documents which, among other things, are to critically examine and analyze various types of texts.I have found that some of these texts could be used for analyzing and critically examine the ideological dimensions of texts and cultural heritage by the model of critical literacy, and also as a counterweight to the more traditional teaching of the canonical literature as a literary historical stuff that students should learn. I have also wanted to create a basis for discussions about literature in the classroom based on the chick lit genre. To do this I have, based on three themes and questions from the model of critical literacy, tried to focus on issues that might emerge from the ideological analysis and critical review. Sweden is a multi cultural country, where almost twenty percent of the population come from another cultural background. This study examines to what extent people with a foreign origin appear in two local, Swedish newspapers, Barometern and Östra Småland, and what role they are given. Do they appear as foreigners or immigrants or do they figure as any Swede, irrespective of their origin background?We have made a review by studying pictures of people with a foreign origin, based on name and appearance. During the time period, March 1st ? April 30 th 2010, there were 2206 articles with pictures of people where 189 of them did show people with a foreign origin.

Although research on gothic fiction has given limited attention to children?s fiction, the last two decades have witnessed an increasing interest. To date the focus has been mainly on English literature with a recurring tendency to define children?s gothic fiction as a text corpus separate from gothic fiction in general. As a result, children?s gothic fiction has become isolated and is not considered as part of the gothic genre, neither the literature nor its adaptations.The aim of this study is to view children?s gothic fiction as an integral part of the gothic genre.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur musiker ser på begrepp som ljudnivå, musikupplevelse och relationen mellan dessa. Underlaget för studien är sex intervjuer med musiker och ljudtekniker, med och utan hörselskador. Studien byggs på sex kvalitativa intervjuer och är avgränsad till att i första hand behandla detta inom musikstilar vilka är baserade på trummor och bas ? pop/rock, jazz/blues.Studiens resultat visar att parametrar som t.ex. genre, lokal, ljudteknik, ljudtekniker och arrangör har inverkan på det ljud och den ljudnivå som uppnås vid en konsert.Vidare redovisas respondenternas syn på relationen mellan ljudnivåer och musikupplevelse.

The problem of separating a non-rectangular foreground image from a background image is a classical problem in image processing and analysis, known as matting or keying. A common example is a film frame where an actor is extracted from the background to later be placed on a different background. Compositing of these objects against a new background is one of the most common operations in the creation of visual effects. When the original background is of non-constant color the matting becomes an under determined problem, for which a unique solution cannot be found. This thesis describes a framework for computing mattes from images with backgrounds of non-constant color, using Bayesian statistics.

Since the 1950s new laws on higher education have led to a ?mass education phenomenon? in Sweden. This has led to a surplus of people with a university degree measured against available positions on the labor market. As a result of that development it must be assumed that in this over qualified society it is not anymore the degree but additional factors which are decisive for getting a job. In this respect the importance of the class background for getting a jobb that is equal to once level of education shall beexamined.The research was carried out by means of a Quantitative Analysis based on data from anational database called Undersökningar av Levnadsförhållanden (Survey of LivingConditions).

The purpose of this text is to show how the mother motif is portrayed in four selected novels by Alfred Kämpe, but the thesis also serves the purpose of emphasizing the fact that the mother motif can be seen interacting with the class motif.This text will account for a new insight into the motifs in Alfred Kämpe?s Trälar. Known as one of the first authors to write in the genre of working-class literature in Sweden Kämpe?s texts provide motifs common for this genre such as class, identity and solidarity. As this thesis shows there is yet another motif that should be included among these typical Swedish working class literature motifs: the mother motive.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the female reader of science fiction literature, a genre by tradition dominated by men. Through qualitative interviews with seven female science fiction readers, the relation between the reading and the readers? lives, as well as their concepts of the science fiction genre and the community of science fiction readers, was examined. The main theoretical framework used for the analysis was Yvonne Hirdman?s gender theory, Judith Butler?s concept of identity and Louise M.

This essay aimed to give a basis for the departement of social work in Lund in its task to recruit students from underrepresented parts of the population to the departement and to the university by presenting which social groups are underrepresentated. The research also aimed to give an explanation of how the backgrounds of the student´s have influenced them and lead them to undertake studies of social work. The main questions were: - What background do the students at the departement of social work have as seen from the variables; sex, age, national background, class, parents' educational level, society of childhood and direction of upper secondary school? - How can the background of the students at the departement of social work be explaned by the theories of Pierre Bourdieu? The research was performed with a quantative method based on a questionnaire. The data received by the questionnaire were compared with data of the general students population and of the population of Sweden at large.

Denna studie undersöker läsbarheten i ledargenren i morgontidningarna DN och SvD med hjälp av läsbarhetsfaktorerna; meningslängd, bisatsfrekvens, personliga pronomen och personord, LIX samt OVIX. Hypotesen som prövas i uppsatsen är att ledargenren, liksom skriftspråket i allmänhet, har gått mot ett allt ?enklare? och mer läsbart språk med mer inslag av talspråklighet. En annan hypotes är att DN som är en liberal tidning har ett enklare språk än SvD som är konservativ/moderat. Materialet består av sammanlagt 12 ledartexter från åren 2004, 2008 och 2012.

Jag undersöker de kännetecken som enligt Ibrahim Taha (2000) karakteriserar denna genre genom att jämföra dem med några mycket korta berättelser i boken Ritualer för den olyckliga kvinnan ( ?????????? ?????? ) av den palestinske författaren Mahm?d Shuqayr (1994).
