This thesis is about the effect of political efficacy on societal participation among youths aged 15 to 29. It takes a starting point in the gloomy view of the decline of political participation among citizens in the western world, especially pointing out youths as a threat to democracy. This is a broad subject to take on so my aim becomes a bit more specific. The aim of the thesis is therefore to investigate if belief in ones own capacity and in the responsiveness of the political system affects the actual participation among youths in Europe, independent of a set of alternative predictors. Moreover the thesis is divided into two sub-investigations, one qualitative and one quantitative.

Den svenska regeringen satsar på småföretagande på landsbygden som omfattar bland annat gårdsbutiker och livsmedelsförädlande företag. Uppsatsen studerar denna bransch i Stockholms län och för att hitta de underliggande faktorerna till framgång används en kvalitativ studie. En serie intervjuer med Herrvik, Järna Mejeri, Nilssons Köttaffär och Saltå Kvarn bygger upp det empiriska innehållet och från dessa intervjuer studeras vilka strategival som gjorts inom respektive fokusområde. Med hjälp av produktklassificeringarna bekvämlighetsprodukter, preferensprodukter, shoppingprodukter och specialitetsprodukter dras slutsatser om företagens förmåga att hålla sig till sin målklassficering.Analysen visar att Saltå Kvarn, det företag som har vuxit sig störst, hör till klassificeringen preferensprodukter och har i princip optimal strategi över alla fokusområden. Enda avvikelsen är i marknadsföring.

A patient simulator for testing anaesthesia machines has been developed at Maquet Critical Care AB, to reduce costly and time-consuming experiments on animals. The device simulates human lungs regarding lung dynamics and volume, uptake of anaesthetic agents and the production of carbon dioxide, heat and moisture. Further demands on the simulator are durability and size; the device shall be compact enough to be moveable.The resulting simulator fulfils the requirements and enables better repeatability and ability to test extreme cases than experiments on animals do.Uptake of the anaesthetic agent is achieved in a active carbon filter and controlled by regulating the flow. The flow is created by a regenerative blower and controlled using a proportional valve. The uptake can be set by the user or by a simple uptake model modified to recursively handle changes in the concentration of anaesthetic agent.Carbon dioxide is fed into the system from a tank by a mass flow regulator.

The purpose of this study is to create an understanding for marketing directors? viewabout how event marketing effect the company?s brand equity in four separatebusinesses. Our question formulation the study aims to answer is:How does event marketing effect the brand equity in international companies?We have chosen to perform a qualitative study with a semi structured research interviewto find out how event marketing as a marketing method, can be applied from theperspective of a marketing director in relation to our theoretical reference frame.To create structure and increase the understanding of our thesis, we will describe thebasics in brand and sponsorship theory, which will fall in to the marketing method ofevent marketing. This degree project is based on identifying and allocation of costs in a packaging section at Electrolux Distriparts in Torsvik.The purpose of this thesis is to identify the costs that emerge when packaging different articles and show how the costs are allocated. The report also contains improvement suggestions about how the company can use the current computer system more efficient.The methods that have been used in order to approach the problem and the collection of information have mainly been literature study, interviews and observation.The work started with answering the questions; which expenditure cost and direct cost exist in the section, how can they be allocated, if improvement can be done and how the flow of information is supposed to happen.In order to answer the questions we used our former experience and the knowledge we achieved by reading literature, interview relevant persons in the company and observations carried out in the section.Through our studies, we came up with an Excel file, which is the groundwork for a template that can be used by the company in different occasions depending on the situation and need. It is important to remember to modify the template if the presumptions change. In the template, we have identified the different kind of costs that emerge when packaging different articles and we have also allocated the costs. In addition formulas and estimations that are necessary for the cost calculation are presented.The work consisted in making the groundwork for a template.

By examine cremated remains from graves dated to late Iron Age I wanted to find out what sorts of animals were placed in the graves. But also to see if the animal sacrifices had any connection to the Old Norse religion. The osteological material that were analysed were from both cremated humans and animals and had been dated to Viking Age. The material is from burial ground 59 at Laxare, Boge parish on Gotland. In addition to the human remains, the material contains bones from horse, cattle, sheep/goat, pig, dog, cat, bear, birds and fish.

I mer än hälften av Sveriges sjöar innehåller gädda en kvicksilverhalt som övergår Food and Agriculture Organization?s (FAO) rekommendationer. Det kvicksilver som finns lagrat i svensk skogsmark är ett resultat av antropogent nedfall. Studier visar att kvicksilver utlakas vid skogsbruksåtgärder på hela skogsmarken som en följd av förhöjd rörlighet av dissolved organic carbon (DOC). En ökad metylering av kvicksilver sker vid vattenmättade, syrefattiga förhållanden där det finns tillgång till organiskt material.

The calculations in this thesis are evaluating the profit as a consequence from treating young stands of pine in Sweden with birch bark extract, BBE. Treatment is to be done with the object to lower or fully reduce the moose browsing on pine. The study is made in three versions. The results from each version separately will follow below. Version I.: The size of the moose population is in no way affected by the reduced resources of food as a consequence of large scale treatment with BBE on pine. Results show profit at a 3 percent level of interest with the exception of treatment program with more than 4 treatments all together and with the exception of Västerbottens Län with an early first treatment. Version II.: The population of moose decrease from 10 to 5 individuals per 1000 ha as a consequence from large scale treatment with BBE on young pine stands.

Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur måltidsmiljön på särskilt boende inverkar på de äldres födointag och att beskriva de i studien ingående artiklarnas kvalité. Metod: En deskriptiv litteraturstudie genomfördes. Kvantitativa och kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar söktes i databaserna Medline (PubMed) och CINAHL. Tolv artiklar inkluderades i studien efter kvalitetsgranskning. Huvudresultat: Det finns många faktorer som kan påverka ätandet hos äldre människor.

Vår allt mer globaliserade värld har medfört att alltfler svenska företag internationaliserar sin verksamhet till mer avlägsna områden. Ett av dessa svenska företag som nu står inför sin första utlandsexpansion är den svenska snabbmatskedjan Max AB. Max har valt att börja sin expansion i Saudiarabien, ett land långt ifrån Sverige, inte bara i termer av geografiskt avstånd utan även kulturellt avstånd. De kulturella skillnaderna som Max möter kan komma att påverka verksamheten och leda till att vissa anpassningar måste genomföras för en framgångsrik etablering. Uppsatsen undersöker det rådande förhållandet för snabbmatsbranschen i Saudiarabien och visar vilka anpassningar internationella snabbmatskedjor bör eller måste göra på grund av de kulturella skillnaderna de möter.

Metod: Datan som anv?nds ?r baserad p? sekund?ra data inh?mtat via Pep Skola mellan ?ren 2020?2024. Totalt inrapporterats 2996 skattningar via verktyget och efter bearbetning av inrapporteringarna enligt exklusion- och inklusionskriterier bestod urvalet av 1277 registreringar/skattningar. Datan analyserades via kvantitativa och kvalitativa analysmetoder f?r att kunna besvara studiens fr?gest?llningar. Resultat: Resultaten visar att skolor med ett h?gre SEI, det vill s?ga l?gre socioekonomisk status, tenderar att skatta sig l?gre i arbetet med h?lsosamma matvanor i skolan, speciellt g?llande elevers delaktighet, inkluderandet av skolm?ltidspersonalen, uppf?ljandet av matsvinn och n?rvaron under skolm?ltiden.

This BSc thesis is an introductory step to the collaboration between the Swedish zoo Skansen and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). It constitutes of an inventory of the Nairobi Animal Orphanage (AO), a facility that cares for injured and abandoned wildlife species in Kenya. Through the cooperation with Skansen, the KWS will improve their management of the AO. The aim of the inventory and BSc theses is to evaluate the management of black-backed jackal (Canis mesomelas), lion (Panthera leo) and patas monkey (Erythrocebus patas) regarding their biological needs. The general enclosures, routines and feeding at the AO are also evaluated since they have a great influence on the management of captive animals.
