To complete an overweight treatment program is associated with better weight loss. Previous studies have in principle focused on drop-out from the entire program, not individual parts of a program. Factors previously shown to influence the patients´ weight loss results are: frequency of individual meetings with a professional, the lack of social support from family or friends, the lack of motivation and in a few studies vacations. In several studies the drop-out patients have stated that their reasons for drop-out were dissatisfaction with the staff and the program design. Drop-out has also been shown to be connected with difficulties in adherence to the diet.

Chronic illness is associated with conditions that may result in psychological ill-health in the adolescence. Consequently there is a need for development of preventive psychosocial support interventions for this target group. The objective was to develop, implement, and evaluate the effect of supportive intervention group program for teenagers suffering from chronic illness - aiming at increasing quality of life and supporting mental and physical health. Method: Six different intervention groups were conducted between 2007 and 2011, age 13?17.

Vi tycker oss ha sett, under våra VFU-perioder, att tolkningen av mål och kriterier ser olika ut på olika program. Vad är det för en syn på grammatik vi kommer att möta i vår framtida lärargärning? Syfte: Att undersöka om det finns en samsyn kring grammatikundervisning i svenskämnets kurs A i jämförelse mellan yrkes- och studieförberedande gymnasieprogram, samt vilka skäl lärare anger för grammatikundervisning. Våra frågeställningar är följande: Har lärare inom yrkes- och studieförberedande program samma motiv till grammatikundervisning? Genomför lärare inom yrkes- och studieförberedande program grammatikundervisning på likartat sätt? Definierar lärare inom yrkes- och studieförberedande program grammatik på samma sätt? Förekommer diskussioner om grammatik i undervisningen mellan lärare? Metod: Vi har genomfört åtta kvalitativa intervjuer med gymnasielärare som undervisar i svenska inom yrkes- respektive studieförberedande program.

Artificiell intelligens (AI) är en stor del i dagens datorspel. För att få inblick i komplexiteten runt AI i spelutveckling och för att förstå delar som AI består av har detta projekt genomförts. Målet var att skapa en AI-motor från grunden med bra grundplattform som är enkel att bygga vidare på. Innan projektet startade utfördes en förundersökning där olika alternativ för kartrepresentationer och grafsökningsalgoritmer togs fram. Utvecklingen av AI-motorn har haft ett starkt beroende till projektet där en spelmotor utvecklats av Niklas Ekman och Christian Mesch.

The purpose of this thesis is to study the level of democracy within the European Union (EU). To do so the following issues were examined: How the EU works and the efforts it has made to improve levels of democracy; and the degree to which the EU fulfils the criteria set by Robert Dahl in his theory of polyarchy.The study is based on a qualitative text analysis. The focus of the analysis is documents released by the EU that can be connected to democracy, and human and fundamental rights. The theory of polyarchy proposed by Robert Dahl and Joseph Schumpeter?s theory of democracy are the principal theories applied.

The purpose with this work is to describe the language that is built around the chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) in Sweden. Our questions are: What does the professional field look like; who writes, about what and for which kind of readers? How do they describe the expressions and the upcoming of CFS? For which reasons can CFS be considered as a medical diagnosis/illness? How can CFS be understood from a social perspective? Our theoretical starting point is a social constructive theory and also Karin Johannisson's theory about medicalization and Foucault?s theory about power. We have from a literature-exposition of Swedish articles from 1989 to 2006, done a social constructive discourse analysis with help from Laclau & Mouffe's discourse theory, and Fairclough's model of social practices. In our textual analysis we found three dominating discourses: A medical discourse, a social/cultural discourse and a general/popular discourse.

Examensarbetet var en utvärdering av en synkron trefas permanentmagnetmotor med utvändig rotor. Den är tänkt att ingå i ett batterimatat drivsystem för hjälputrustning på segelbåtar. Målen var att kartlägga prestandan i standardutförande samt att hitta de svaga punkterna i konstruktionen. Förslag på hur motorutförandet kan optimeras ska också läggas fram. Tester och mätningar gjordes i en testuppkoppling med växelriktare, motor och axelkopplad generator. Detta för att kunna få fram fler mätvärden på motorn.

AbstractThis degree thesis was made in cooperation with Chematur Engineering in Karlskoga.Many of the environmental issues of today are a result of the motor traffic. Consumption of fossil fuels harms our environmental through formation of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. To get under control with our environmental issues it?s important to find substitutes for oil that are both cheap and environmentally friendly. Ethanol has a long history as a motor fuel and is both enviromentally friendly has a high efficiency.According to the EU commissions directives for motor fuels, 5, 75 % of all the fuels in Sweden should be renewable in 2010.

This thesis deals with the characterization of Japan and Japanese people by Swedish travelers during the Meiji period. It seeks to answer what aspects of Japanese people two Swedish travelers chose to highlight, and how these aspects were presented in their travelogues. This thesis also has a second aim. By applying Edward Said?s theory of orientalism, it wants to answer if Swedish travelogues were influenced by western 19th century ideas of colonialism and imperialism.

Om det gör det, vad är anledningarna och hur ser de själva på sitt användande?I uppsatsen studeras enbart programvara och inte annat upphovsrättsligt skyddat material, som film eller musik. Studien är en icke-slumpmässig statistisk undersökning.

With an attractive trainee program company?s today hope to attract young devoted people. In the frame of a trainee program, there has been a special focus on a formal mentorship in an effort to develop characteristics with the mentor and protégé. Therefore this study discusses the subject mentorship in trainee programs. Which characteristics are affected with the mentor and protégé during a mentor relationship in a trainee program? The aim of the study is to create an awareness and knowledge of the mentor and the protégés understanding of which characteristics are affected in a mentorship relation after a completed trainee program.

I den här undersökningen har jag belyst hur elever som går sitt första år på gymnasiets tekniska program, har upplevt teknikundervisningen på högstadiet. Målet har varit att belysa teknikämnets relevans för tekniska studier på gymnasiet, dess inverkan på teknikintresset samt påverkan på valet av tekniskt program på gymnasiet. Andra frågor som jag har belyst är om eleverna i första hand väljer program eller skola, och hur viktig inriktningen på tekniskt program tycks vara för valet. Undersökningen bygger på intervjuer med fem elever som går första året på gymnasiets tekniska program. Intervjuerna har sedan analyserats med hjälp av den narrativa analysmetoden inom berättelseforskningen, och resultatet består av fem berättelser som skapats utifrån intervjuerna.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how teachers comprehend LUS as a development program, but also how they think about one of the points in the program. The study is based on interviews with five teachers working with ages between preschool to ninth grade.The results show that the development program is splendid, it doesn?t come with a lot of paperwork and it has a humanistic approach. When it comes to point 18a which is the main examination, the teachers mainly agree with each other. They all talk about preunderstanding, reading speed and the amount of literature as the main characteristics to be placed at point 18a.

This thesis gives an introduction to securitization in general and the tranching of collateralized debt obligations in particular. It does this by using a firm-value model to simulate the underlying portfolio via monte-carlo simulations.The simulations in turn give a loss-distribution from which the various tranchings of the CDO?s are derived. To get an understanding of the influence of different variables involved in the tranching the simulations are repeated several times where the portfolio variables are changed to generate different tranchings. This to give a understanding of the influence different variables have on the tranching and consequently risks involved in CDO?s in particular but also general risks and problems of securitizations..

Around the robot there are different kinds of material flows, to optimize the cycle time, consisting of carriages combined in different ways.Motion Control is a complex system with main functions such as; positioning, synchronizing, indexing and more. The products in the system need to cooperate to make these functions possible therefore integration of motor- and servo products are important.
