The city is complex, multi-faceted and fascinating. The same can be said about the rooms
of the city. The experience of the rooms of the city can be described in as many ways as
there are individuals. The question concerned in this essay is How can you describe the
rooms of the city as a phenomenon and how can you describe the experience of these rooms
in general?
The concepts city and room are widely understood and neither of them has a description
that can be used in all situations.
Chatt - ett nytt sätt att kommunicera med bibliotekarien
This thesis presents a new way of providing library users with reference services, namely chat (text based digital reference service in real time). Our research questions focus on the role of reference service, a comparison of chat reference to other reference forms, and the interest for real-time, digital reference. Our literature review covered the areas of digital reference and reference theory, the results of which showed that an ongoing debate hardly exists among Swedish librarians on the topic of reference work. We interviewed librarians from the three different Swedish chat reference projects existing at the time of our study. Most interviewees were very positive about chat reference.

This study examines how masculinity is portrayed in podcasts. Our original materialconsisted of four episodes of C/o Hannah & Amanda and four episodes of Filip &Fredrik's podcast. We analyzed the programs both individually and in comparison toeach other. Using a rhetorical analysis, we found that the perception of men in thepodcasts conforms to societal norms. The theoretical basis underlying ouranalysis can be expected to strengthen our findings and made us also realize that theimage of masculinity is constantly evolving..
Kompetensutveckling : En kvalitativ studie av personalens upplevelse efter att ha gått Taktipro grundutbildning i en LSS-verksamhet
The study reported has been conducted in care service guided by the Swedish law LSS( LSS- act concerning support and service for the disabled). The aim of this study is to examine the experiences of the personnel who have attended the Taktipro introductory course with special focus on how they describe the possible effects this may have had on their daily attendance to their special needs users.The method used is a qualitative method of enquiry, based on interview questions sent by mail to all the participants of the Taktipro introductory course. The result shows that the personnel have a positive view on skills in progress and that this program has facilitated the contact between personnel and their special needs users. An awareness about the importance of physical contact has also been revealed as well as an awareness of their own impact on situations at work. The result also indicates that the personnel feel that they have been able to improve the well being for the special needs users. .
Mätning av tjänstekvalitet i bibliotek: användning av LibQUAL+ i Sverige
The aim of this master thesis is to measure library service quality in two groups of libraries, newly developed and well established, and to see if there are any differences in the users perception of the dimensions in LibQUAL+. The thesis also examines the different perception of quality for the user groups: undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. Another approach is to test the Swedish translation of LibQUAL+. Different theories on service quality are presented but the main theories are from the marketing perspective. The grounding and development of LibQUAL+ is described as well as the use of the instrument in different libraries.
Enterprise Resource Planning Systems as a Service: Hur genomförs en framgångsrik implementation?
Denna uppsats har sin utgångspunkt i den tekniska evolution som har skett i affärssystemens värld. Syftet var att undersöka och beskriva implementat-ionsfasen av ett Enterprise Resource Planning System som tillhandahålls som en tjänst via internet. Fokus var att identifiera framgångsfaktorer för implementationen med hjälp av ett fallstudiebaserat tillvägagångssätt där tonvikt legat på intervjuer och andrahandsmaterial. Undersökningen visade att bland annat valet av ett för organisationen passande system, en omfattande verksamhetsanalys, implementeringshjälp av konsulter samt anpassning av affärsprocesser är viktiga faktorer för en framgångsrik implementation. The information tool covers basic fire protection methods and the general way to produce a fire resistance for structural steel. The layout of this information tool is a simple folder that contains information about the most important steps when producing fire protection for a steel structure.The thesis starts with a general overview of the fire protection needed in buildings to fulfill national legislative and regulatory requirements. To get an understanding of how steel components behave during the influence of fire, a brief overview is presented of the material properties of steel. The purpose of the study was to identify and analyse the implications of client virtualisation in company environments. The study chose to focus on the aspects of the current hardware, license management, application management, maintenance work and the implications virtualization would have on these. The work in the study was chosen to limit itself to a Windows environment.The background to the study was due to a growing need to be more flexible and mobile in company environments and in collaboration with the University of Jönköping a problem description and the framing of questions was defined. This bachelor thesis portray a project where the main task were to develop a
computer based system prototype for handling of absence report at the upper
secondary school af Chapman in Karlskrona. The project has been conducted in
cooperation with students from the university programs software engineering and
information economy at Blekinge Institute of Technology. Our task as
MDA-students have been to survey the process of absence report of today through
field studies and give a proposal of a graphical user interface which later
were developed by the software engineers. The thesis also handles the

Chefen som normsändare : En kvalitativ studie ur chefs - och personalperspektiv
The aim of our study is to explore which norms that exists in the home care service, who is sending those norms, how are they maintained and how do they affect the interactions between staff and manager? We want to deep en our knowledge about home care service as an organization and increase our understanding for the psychosocial work environment and also the importance of leadership. We mean to read the organizational culture that exists which allows us to deal with the values that influence the behavior in the organization.The study is based on a qualitative method. The data consists of two focus group interviews, one with managers from the home care service - organization and one with staff from the same organization. T he interview with the managers consisted of five participants and the corresponding figure for the second interview with the staff was eight participants.The theoretical viewpoints have been communication - theory, organizational theory and Foucault´s th eory of power.Our result indicate that norms are something that unconsciously controls us and that we have learned that there are consequences when you step out of what is normative for the group.

Denna rapport handlar om utveckling av administratörsfunktioner för applikationen QuickPick som är ett värdesystem för ett lager. I dagsläget finns det inga funktioner för användaren att sortera, gruppera eller filtrera vyinställningar i applikationen. De som använder systemet får kontakta Qsys Sverige AB, där detta uppdrag är utfört, för att ändra vyinställningar manuellt. Rapporten behandlar teori om hur ett lager är uppbyggt, hur man programmerar på ett generellt sätt så att det blir enklare att fortsätta utveckla funktionen. Teorin behandlar också hur man på ett användarvänligt sätt skapar ett system för en administratör.Funktionerna kommer att finnas i en webbportal tillgänglig för administratören och är utvecklat i C# och ASP.NET.

Banks find themselves at a highly competitive market where it is important to achieve high customer satisfaction if they want to attract customers and stay competitive. Some studies suggest that the gap between customer expectations and perception within the five quality dimensions influences the customer satisfaction. With SERVQUAL the authors of this thesis have investigated the suggested relationship and have discovered no indications of a relationship between the gap and customer satisfaction. Instead the results indicate that there is a relationship between perceived service and customer satisfaction. The thesis also indicates that the most important quality dimension for the bank customer is reliability.
Det socialt konstruerade könet : En studie om mäns och kvinnors möjligheter att ge jämlik service ur ett genusperspektiv
Studien har gjorts på uppdrag av stadsdelen Majorna i Göteborgs kommun och är baserad på kvalitativa intervjuer med tio stycken intervjupersoner. Intervjupersonerna är slumpvis utvalda där det enda vi hade i åtanke var att blanda kvinnor och män. Vårt syfte är att se vad det finns för föreställningar om jämställdhet och jämställdhetsarbete inom verksamhetsområdet skola/förskola för att kunna urskilja möjligheterna för intervjupersonerna att ge jämlik service till brukarna ur ett genusperspektiv (Wahl m fl 2001 s.171). Detta kan vi uppnå genom att synliggöra ett antal erkända sätt att tänka kring jämställdhet och jämställdhetsarbetet. Resultatet visar att det finns både skillnader och likheter i attityder, tankar och känslor angående jämställdhet och jämställdhetsarbetet hos de kvinnor och män vi intervjuat. Resultatet kommer i kombination med de valda teorierna att användas som ett sätt att förstå hur detta kan komma att påverka hur det ges jämlik service till brukarna i stadsdelen.
