The memory of expulsions among the expelling groups has been fairly studied, and has potential to create new conflicts. This qualitative study uses in-depth interviews to describe the memory of the 6-7 September events and the Greek minority in Istanbul among a group of Turkish descent people living in Beyoglu, Istanbul. Further the study compares the memory with the written history and explains why the memories of the past are shaped according to the present. The Greek minority of Istanbul are remembered in words of friendship and neighbourliness, but these memories are rather a nostalgia of the past for present needs than an image of the past itself. The memories of the events among the studied group are dominated by the general destruction occasioned by the riots but tend to contradict the violence towards the Greek minority.

En del av löneskillnaderna beror på att kvinnor och män har olika arbetsrelaterade egenskaper t.ex. olika lång utbildning. Under det senaste decenniet har högre utbildning väldigt ofta anförts som ett medel mot löneskillnader. Kvinnor och män i yngre generationer har fått allt mer lika utbildning, särskilt när det gäller längden, men även inriktningen har fått dramatiska förändringar.

The main aim of the thesis is, first, to present a theoretical and methodological perspective for the study of postmodern theory in historiography; second, to discuss and evaluate earlier research on the subject; and third, to show that historians must be more self-reflexive about their explicit as well as implicit theoretical and philosphical premises. My theoretical and methodological inspiration comes mainly from three directions: first, the discourse analytic theory propagated by the political theorists Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe; second, concepts from Lacanian psychoanalysis as propagated by the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Zizek; and, finally, the later Ludwig Wittgensteins theory of language.Using this perspective a minor case study is made based on five dissertations in history at Lund University from 1999 to 2006 as source material. This in order to indicate a strong influence of postmodern theory in Swedish historiography. It is further argued that it is legitimate to speak of one postmodernism, not in spite, but because of the fact that postmodernism is a semantically highly paradoxical, contradictory and unstable phenomenon. The main results of the analysis can be summarized as follows: (i) earlier research on the subject is simplified and unreflected and must be abandoned, because (ii) postmodernism seen as a discursive whole, i.e.

En demografisk studie av 221 giftermål har sammanställts från källmaterialet Dalregementets personhistoria I och II.Resultatet av detta har visat att Dalregementets befäls sammanlagda medelålder under tidsperioden 1650?1799 var vid första äktenskapet 31,1 för män och 25,8 för deras makor.

This report deals with life-history variation for Eurasian perch (Perca fluviatilis L.), with special emphasis on age and size at maturity in females, in perch populations that have changed in size distribution. The collection of fish samples was made with multimesh gill nets year 2011. The perch?s length, height, weight, status of gonads has been analyzed, and by observing the opercular bone the age has been determined. In two lakes close to Umeå in northern Sweden, Fisksjön and Ängersjön, the live-history traits of perch have been studied.

The educational directive for the school subject textile handicraft (slöjd) claim, that the pupils should have knowledge of handicraft traditions from historical and present perspective. Teachers in handicraft, teaching in schools for the first nine years of a child education forwards a cultural heritage. The purpose of this essay is to find out what the teachers opinion is about what constitute the Swedish textile cultural heritage. How the teachers relate to it and how they use it, then teaching. The essay is based on a qualitative method and consists of interviews with teachers.

Denna studie behandlar mödravården i Kina och med bas i empiriskt material i form av skrivna källor ämnar studien visa på mönster i fördelningen av resurser i landet. Detta genom en undersökning av mödravård samt denna vårds tillgänglighet för kvinnorna i landet. Detta mönster analyseras sedan mot tre teoretiska perspektiv; konvergens/ divergens, urban bias och relative deprivation för att se vilket av dessa perspektiv som bäst förklarar tillgängligheten av mödravård. Studien visar på stora skillnader mellan regioner och individer och drar slutsatsen att trots att stora skillnader kan iakttas mellan stad och landsbygd, finns det också betydande skillnader inom regioner. Permaculture is a design system that aims at developing sustainable human settlements and self-maintained agriculture; it may also be used for community planning. The design system of permaculture aims at mimicking a natural ecosystem; this gives the advantage to make use of all the connections and mechanisms that exist in such a system.The purpose of this bachelor thesis was to compile and spread scientific information regarding five different themes within the areas of ecology, environmental science and permaculture. This was achieved through cooperation with the permaculture inspired Ecovillage Suberbyn in southern Gotland. Information about the central parts of a permaculture ecovillage was used as material for a series of signposts that will be located around the ecovillage Suderbyn. The history of books and libraries in the Philippines starts after the arrival of the Spaniards in 1521. During the Spanish era, most of the libraries were established through the religious orders to support their own religious mission. The Americans came in the beginning of the 20th century and have had a decisive influence on the education system and the development of libraries in the Philippines. For the analysis, I have used the models of Michael H. Harris and Magnus Torstensson in their studies of library development.

Denna uppsats utgår från en lista av ordinarie konsuler mellan 30 f.Kr. och 138 e.Kr., och undersöker hur många av dessa som var nobiles, homines novi eller ättlingar till senatorer utan konsulära förfäder. Antalet konsuler tillhörande dessa olika grupper illustreras genom ett antal diagram som visar hur nobiles dominerade konsulsämbetet under Augustus och Tiberius men sedan tappade mark under Claudius och de senare kejsarna till förmån för den växande gruppen senatorsättlingar utan republikanska konsulära förfäder. The purpose of this master thesis is to describe the professional and literary life of Karl-Gunnar Wall, city librarian of Katrineholm between 1944 and 1975. Questions at issue are the reasons for Walls literary interests, Walls choice of occupation, crucial personal meetings, the context in which Wall acts, Walls fundamental principles as a librarian and as a critic, and the features comprising Walls life history. The method used is a merely qualitative one called "life history". It is founded on in-depth interviews with the persons involved and emanates from the individuals own story about his life. I have carried out three taped interviews; one with Wall himself, and two with his colleagues.

This essay is focused on the questions of and responsibility for where, when, how and why communication and meetings through archaeology should take place. I have critically studied Swedish public archaeology through three diverse archaeological excava­tions, one took place in the end of the 1980s, and two others in 2012.I have asked for under what circum­stances and with which goals the public efforts become possible. I have inter­viewed leaders for the archaeological excavations and/or the public efforts and questi­o­ned how and why they reached out to the public. I also searched for results and effects in order to problematize and value the public activities.Through interpretation of the resear­ched material it becomes clear that economic issues as well as archaeo­logists interests and engagements are of vital importance for public archaeology. Abstract"The war on terror" has resulted in numerous exceptions from the constitutional order. This thesis is an attempt to give empirical support to Georgio Agambens theory that these exceptions should be regarded as a constant element in modern societies based on a constitutional order. The results of the case study of the empirical exceptions in the American context give Agambens theory validity. The exception is a reappearing phenomenon, which implies that the constitutional order is fragile. What then is it that makes the legal norms fragile? In this thesis I will discuss the causality of moral panic.

I denna kvalitativa undersökning har jag intervjuat tre pedagoger med syftet att ta reda på hur dessa väljer att undervisa i historieämnet för elever i grundskolans tidigare år. Jag reflekterar även kring pedagogernas historiemedvetande med hänsyn till deras didaktiska val av undervisning, metoder och tankar kring historia. Min studie visar att informanterna anser att de mål som skall uppnås med undervisningen måste vara tydliga för eleverna. Det är främst olika styrdokument som styr undervisningen. Informanterna ser individualisering som en del av undervisningsmetoderna, därtill spelar de olika resurserna som skolan tillhandahåller en viktig roll.
