Borta bra, men hemma bäst: En undersökning av egna och köpta medier

The rise of social media has put a focus on the division of owned, paid and earned media, where earned media has recently been hyped at the expense of owned and paid media. Due to a novel area we examine the differences and effects of using owned and paid media, specifically for packaging versus newspapers. Owned and paid media showed no significant differences regarding credibility, persuasion and perceived commerciality, which restored owned media?s status, especially since owned media is more cost efficient. The effects of allowing ads for external brands on the owned medium were also studied.

The fragmentation and reduction of deciduous forests in Sweden is threatening many species. Particularity worrying is the loss of broad-leaf trees, since a diversity of species is often associated to them. Today many deciduous trees are situated along the border between forested and open areas, and these small fragments can be important for biodiversity.The aim of this study is to analyze if wildlife management can affect the variation of deciduous trees and bushes in the landscape. In brochures and literature Svenska Jägareförbundet (the Swedish Association for Hunting and Wildlife Management) recommend hunters and landowners to promote deciduous trees ? often broad-leaf trees ? as wildlife management measures, while the Swedish forestry laws can be sensed as unclear regarding the treatment of these trees.Five properties in Södermanland, Sweden, were chosen as study areas and inventoried in respect of trees and bushes in September 2013.

Hur uppfattas olika remedieringar av en poetisk text till ett audiovisuellt medium som film, i synnerhet överföringen av litterära metaforer? Vilken förhållningsätt till texten anses vara mest effektivt i att meddela textens betydelse och mening i en film

Vi använder oss dagligen av ett rikt bildspråk med hjälp av t ex metafor. Senaste forskning har visat att bildspråket har en stor betydelse i vårt sätt att tanka och kommunicera med varandra. Samtidigt är bildspråket betraktas som en slag avvikelse i vårt sätt att kommunicera och tänka som anser ske på en bokstavlig nivå. Jag blev intresserad av att utforska denna dikotomi och i en viss mån ville jag gestalta den i mitt projekt. Jag ville undersöka om det finns ett sätt som anses vara mest effektiv för att remediera en poetisk text till ett visuellt medium.Jag skapade två filmer med ett identiskt ljudspår som innehåller en musik komponerad för en poetisk högläsning.  Genom att förhålla mig till textens innehåll på olika sätt i skapandet av mitt bildmaterial försökte jag undersöka frågan och även utforska om manliga och kvinnliga deltagare skiljer sig åt i deras respektive mottagande av de två filmerna..

Spelskapande men en komponentbaserad arbetsprocess

Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är att testa en arbetsmetod som skiljer sig ifrån det en mindre grupp i vanliga fall använder sig av: en komponentbaserad arbetsprocess för att utforska och sammanställa arbetserfarenheten med den komponentbaserade arbetsmetoden, utvecklar vi därför ett digitalt spel..

Utveckling av terräng ochpartikeleffekter med Lightweight Java Game Library (LWJGL)

Denna rapport ar resultatet av ett examensarbete som har utforts vid institutionen for informationsoch kommunikationsteknik, Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan (KTH), och omfattar 15 hp. Rapporten presenterar ett arbete dar examensarbetarna har utvecklat en terrang med hojdskillnader och ljussattning, partikeleffekter (CPU-GPU implementering) som liknar ett fyrverkeri, partikeleffekter (GPU implementering) som visar olika monster samt en kamera for att kunna observera spelvarlden fran alla mojliga olika vinklar i 3D med API:et Lightweight Java Game Library (LWJGL).LWJGL ar ett lagniva-API som riktar sig mot nyborjare och professionella spelutvecklare i programspraket Java. Flera tekniker exponeras istallet for att mappa lagniva-funktioner i objektorienterad programmeringsparadigm som manga javautvecklare ar vana vid. LWJGL hanterar sin egen grafik, ljud och styrkontroller enbart for att fa en solid grund for moderna spel och en battre anvandarupplevelse. Den grafiska renderingen skots med OpenGL.Syftet med det har examensarbetet var att utvardera LWJGL om den ar kompetent nog att anvandas i samband med spelutveckling.

Free play is a term that often common in educational activities. The definition of the term is difficult, but it is about the children themselves decides the scope, content and process in their play. On an after-school, this may mean that it is the children are given the opportunity to freely choose their own activity in the leisure constraints. Free play can be an alternative to other, more controlled activities where adults control framework. The purpose of this study is to investigate the variations in how some children perceive and experience the phenomenon of free play in the after-school and how the children perceive the teacher´s role in the free game.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? En adaptionsstudie med Watchmen som utgångspunkt

Serier, film och adaption. Detta är tre ord som den senaste tiden har blivit allt mer förknippade med varandra. Med titlar som Spider-man (Sam Raimi, 2002), The Dark Knight (Christpher Nolan,2008) och The Avengers (Josh Whedon, 2012) har serier satt sitt avtryck i filmhistorien. Men hur ser dessa båda medium ut och vad är det som gör adaptioner av serier så attraktiva? Detta kommer undersökas närmare i denna uppsats.

Network Advantages in a Market Entry Context ? A study of the Swedish fashion business

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to research and analyze how the establishment in new markets of small and medium Swedish fashion companies can be made more efficient from a network perspective. Methodology: The researchers have decided to take a phenomenological standpoint and undertake an exploratory study in order to gain understanding of the phenomenon of market entry and the use of networks. The researchers have chosen to undertake a qualitative study and to adopt an abductive approach. Two ?case companies? have been chosen which are Filippa K and House of Dagmar.

?I´d like to see you in a silk dress so I could tear it off you? : En studie kring representation av genus och sexualitet i serien Game Of Thrones

AbstraktSyftet med denna uppsats är att genom ett motiverat urval av sex-scener undersöka representationen av sexualitet och genus i serien Game of Thrones. Vidare undersöks hur hierarkin skiljer sig åt mellan man och kvinna och vilken funktion det sexuella innehållet har. Teorierna kring the Male Gaze, Pornchic-tendensen och medierat sex appliceras under rubriken teoretisk ram. Genus och feministisk teori av Yvonne Hirdman och Helena Josefsson behandlas också i uppsatsen.Vi identifierar i vår analys ett antal karaktärer och nio motiverade sex-scener. Specifikt är dessa sex-scener bärande för både handling och syfte.

Radioktivt cesium (Cs-137) i vildsvin (Sus scrofa) från Tjernobyldrabbade områden i Sverige

In April 1986 an accident occurred at the nuclear power station in Chernobyl. Radionuclides were spread all over Europe including Sweden. Today there are still measurable concentrations of 137Cs in the different ecosystems in the contaminated parts of Sweden. The wild boar is the second most popular game in Sweden and today the Swedish population consumes more wild boar meat than ever. As the wild boar population increases the wild boars are moving further north towards the contaminated areas, which creates an interest to study the state of 137Cs in wild boars in these areas. Muscle samples from wild boars collected during 2010-2013 were analyzed based on 137Cs content.

"Periodare" hos socialtjänsten? : En undersökning om unga vuxnas behov av försörjningsstöd

The purpose of this study is to find out how social workers in one medium and one smallmunicipality in central Sweden perceive the need of financial support for young adults formore than one year and what the causes might be. To answer our research questions aqualitative research method was used and four social workers were interviewed. The resulthas been analyzed based of social exclusion, stigma, as well as on structural and individuallevel and linked to previous research. Our results show that although young adults are anexception for long duration for financial support, there are those who lack other means ofsupport for a long time. The results also show that young adults often are recurring in thesocial services, and they are long-lasting.

"Utan If, ingen podcast" : En analys av sponsring i svenska podcasts

Internet and convergence culture has changed the terms of the media landscape. When old media converge and new ones take form, questions about how these should be classified arise, which is accompanied by new challenges in terms of ethics and regulations. One of these newfound mediums is podcasting; an expanding auditive pull-medium available through streaming or downloading on the Internet.This study, which was conducted as a quantitative content analysis, examines the use of sponsorship in four of the most popular Swedish podcasts. This was done as an attempt to understand how producers of a new and unregulated medium choose to go about presenting their sponsor, without having any ethical guidelines to follow. Traditional media is already regulated and have ethical guidelines, that for example regulate how to address a sponsor, but in the new and expanding world of podcasting there are no ethical rules and guidelines.Our study shows that the placements of the sponsorship messages tend to vary and that there is very little consensus regarding how these podcasts choose to present their sponsor.

Optimal Yatzy : Kan den optimala algoritmen optimeras?

Yahtzee is a game based on luck. Yet there are algorithms designed to give an optimal result and succeeds in doing so. This report compares the end result of an optimal algorithm to an algorithm that has been modified for the multiplayer scenario. The modified algorithm tries to win over the optimal algorithm through taking greater risks in its decisions when falling behind in points. The results show that it is not favorable to do so.

Observatörer för skattning av verktygspositionen hos en industrirobot : Design, simulering och experimentell verifiering

This thesis approaches the problem of estimating the arm angles of an industrial robot with flexibilities in joints and links. Due to cost-cutting efforts in the industrial robots industry, weaker components and more cost-effective structures have been introduced which in turn has led to problems with flexibilities, nonlinearities and friction. In order to handle these challenging dynamic problems and achieve high accuracy this study introduces state observers to estimate the tool position.The observers use measurements of the motor angles and an accelerometer and the different evaluated observers are based on an Extended Kalman Filter and a deterministic variant. They have been evaluated in experiments on an industrial robot with two degrees of freedom. The experimental verification shows that the state estimates can be highly accurate for medium frequency motions, ranging from 3-30Hz.
