Many research reports mention the fact that a huge number of all system development projects never reach a successful ending; with other words never fulfil formulated goals. By identifying and forming success factors (and in some aspect risk factors) that the project manager in practice can use, this study may be seen as a step in the direction towards minimising the high number of failed system development projects. The purpose of this research report is to investigate how a system development project, where the development process is based on a specific development or process model (in this case the Waterfall model), can and should be driven. I aim to clarify what is demanded of a project leader for the specific development process and give an account for which eventual leadership qualities that can be well suited for given situation in relation to the need for technical competence. Among other things the project manager should inspire confidence, drive, be a decision maker, engage and own some form of basic knowledge in the field of system development.

ABB Surge Arrestors in Ludvika have for a long time had a problem to keep the moisture at a steady state in the production of their ZnO-powder, that is used to produce varistors.Some black-box models of the spray drying process have been designed and evaluated to find a solution for the problem. After evaluating the collected data it has been found that variations in the supply voltage causes control difficulties for the operator. A cascade control system was designed, consisting of three PI control loops designed with lambda tuning. The disturbance in the supply voltagewas used as a feed forward in the control system.At the end of the project the control system was installed, and tests were made to verify the functionality of the regulator. It was shown that most of the variations in the moisture of the powder could be eliminated using small resources, through purchase of a process controller and four power meters.

SammanfattningDagens globala samhälle innebär att många företag väljer att satsa på marknader i andra länder. Ett problem som kan uppstå är att kommunikationen missförstås av mottagarna och det därigenom blir en kostsam och misslyckad marknadssatsning. För att motverka problemet har vi undersökt vilka kulturella skillnader som finns mellan väst- och östvärlden och hur de påverkar uppfattningen av visuell kommunikation i form av logotyper. Arbetet syftade även till att öka förståelsen för vilka likheter och skillnader som påverkar hur visuella element så som färg, typsnitt, form och symbol uppfattas samt hur de kan betraktas som globala.Syftet med examensarbetet var att undersöka hur visuell kommunikation, i form av logotyper, uppfattas i väst- och östvärlden. I syftet ingick även att ta reda på vilka kulturella skillnader som påverkar vad vi uppfattar samt att undersöka hur de visuella elementen kan användas för att få logotyper att uppfattas som globala i både Sverige och Kina.

To reconstruct a building is a long-term investment for farmers and it is important that people with different qualifications are involved at an early stage for making the system adapted to the animals as well the animal keeper. Therefore, ethologists who can contribute with their expertise are needed to design the system and get it to function well for the animals.A Swedish farmer who planned to rebuild her stall for tied dairy cattle to a loose-housing system for recruitment heifers for milk production asked me as an ethologist to find a system which can be fit to her existing tie-stall barn for 30 dairy cows, considering the animal needs in terms of movement, social interactions and play behaviors, and to theoretically compare the system with other systems with respect to the behaviors mentioned.The theoretical comparison between different systems was made through a scientific literature review.In agreement with the animal keeper I set out to fit a system with feeding cubicles, a system with cubicles and a system with deep straw bedding to the barn. After measurements were taken and preliminary drawings were outlined it was found that only the feeding cubicle system was possible to fit to the barn.The space provided will limit the animals to perform some playing behaviors. To decrease aggressive interactions between animals even thought a limiting area it is possible to provide partitions between resources animals compete around to prevent that more than one animal can get success to the resource at a particular place at one time. To increase the animal movement in the system the water trays were moved to the outer wall instead of kept in contact with the stalls.Although this report provides guidelines for rebuilding, other competences regarding building construction and a pre-test of the suggested building solution according to Swedish legislation are needed before the rebuilding can start.The results are directed mainly to the owner of the barn, but the literature review can be used by other cattle farmers and might bring increased understanding of the possible effects of different building solution on the animals..

Aim: This paper aims to produce a serviced office concept adjusted to Statens fastighetsverk. The concept will make SFV:s properties more attractive for renting. Method: Information has been collected from interviews with 13 different serviced office companies, one serviced office agent and eleven government authorities. Also litterateur, reports and internet have been used in gathering information.I will use following questions:¨      How is the serviced office concept designed?¨      Which customer segment should SFV direct to and what need does the segment have?¨      How shall a marketing plan look like for the concept?¨      How should a concept designed for SFV look like? Result & Conclusions: Serviced office space is a company that letting functional workspace with access to shared facilities e.g. reception, office machines, internet, phone and more.

Projektet omfattade en jämförelsestudie avseende stomsystem. Studien undersökte ramverk och fackverk/balk/pelar-system och genomfördes självständigt med stöttning av Ramböll AB´s kontor i Falun. Syftet var främst att undersöka vilka skillnader det finns mellan tvåledsramar och fackverk/balk/pelar-system för lätta hallbyggnader och försöka få klarhet i varför fackverk/balk/pelar-system är det dominerande systemet i Sverige eftersom övriga Europa har tagit en annan utveckling och domineras av tvåledsramar. Studien undersöker skillnaderna mellan systemen i en hallbyggnad med förutbestämda mått i stål.Inledningsvis gjordes en litteraturstudie för att få en bredare bakgrund av systemen och en bättre förståelse om förutsättningarna för varje system. Efter litteraturstudien kunde sedan ett typhus och beräkningsunderlag för jämförelsestudien tas fram.

När ett nytt system kommer i användning så är det viktigt att följa upp utifall systemet fyller sin funktion och är användbart. Enovation i Karlskrona har utvecklat ett mobilt arbetsordersystem till fastighetsskötarna på fastighetsbolaget Gallionen. Det är det systemet som vi har utvärderat i detta arbete. Anledningarna till att systemet har utvecklats är många. Den viktigaste anledningen är att fastighetsskötarna ska slippa åka fram och tillbaka till receptionen för att hämta nya arbetsordrar och slippa ha med sig en massa papper.

Ekokardiografi är en mycket användbar teknik som bland annat kan bedöma vänsterkammarensfunktion hos hjärtat med hjälp av ejektionsfraktion (EF) och global longitudinell strain (GLS). EF är idag den metoden som används mest vid bedömning av vänsterkammarfunktionen och beräknas enligt Simpsons biplanmetod. GLS är en ny metod som mäter myokardiets deformation och har i tidigare studier visat sig vara en känslig metod och kan upptäcka förändringar i myokardiet tidigare än EF. Vid behandling av bröstcancer kan hjärtat påverkas toxiskt och därmed genomgår denna patientgrupp regelbundna kontroller med ekokardiografi. Syftet med denna studie är att jämföra två ekokardiografiska metoder hos 20 stycken kvinnliga bröstcancerpatienter. Jämförelser har gjorts mellan EF beräknat med Simpsons biplanmetod (EFbi) och GLS samt mellan EFbi och EF beräknat från GLS (EFGLS).

Syftet med denna uppsats är att ge en bild av den livsstil som boende i en ekoby har. Detta har gjorts genom en analys med en teoretisk modell innehållande värden, attityder och handlingar. Två informanter har intervjuats för att ge förståelse för hur värden och handlingar stämmer överens och om det finns genomförda handlingar som inte bottnar i grundläggande värden. Resultatet visar att beslutet att bo i en ekoby är väl genomtänkt och grundas på viktiga värden. Strävan efter att leva ett enkelt liv är det centrala, vilket kopplas ihop med global rättvisa.

Within media and communications studies, questions of taste have often been associated with the dichotomy of high versus popular culture. The French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu has also used mass media products in his studies of class determined tastes and dispositions. In this paper the author uses the theoretical framwork of Bourdieu to examine aspects of social class and legitimate taste in the interior design magazine "Sköna Hem", a market leading magazine within it's genre of lifestyle magazines in Sweden. A specific type of feature article, where a real-life home is portrayed, is studied using the critical discourse analysis of Norman Fairclough. The homes portrayed are predominantly affluent and display elements of conspicuous consumtion as mediated through legitimate taste and cultural capital.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the current situation as regarding the political equality in Iran. The method of this reaserch is based on a single-case studie wich grounds in secondary sources. The analysis of this paper is based on fields that concern political equality which in this study will focus on the right to vote, candidacies in the parliament election 2004 and the presidential election 2005. A democracy theory by Jack Lively is used to analyze the political equality in Iran´s political system.The Iranian regim is strongly criticized by the goverments in the Western world and NGO´s for the situation of the democracy and the human rights in the country. Despite the criticism, Iran still continues in the same political direction, although the democracy has gained a stronger role in the political sphere.

Fem stycken globala banker inom området global custody valdes att studeras. Med utgångspunkt i tidigare teorier om företags arbete med innovation och genomlysbarhet studerades företagens information gällande innovation. De teorier som användes gällde företags genomlysbarhet samt tidigare forskning om hur banker arbetar med innovation. Källorna var företagens årsredovisningar för år 2007 samt företagens hemsidor.

PR 2.0 is a term that defines the new way for organizations to work with public relations in the new media landscape. The aim of our study is to examine how IKEA uses social media to create, maintain and develop their relationships. Furthermore, great interest is directed to the concept profile. This essay will examine how the stated profile IKEA has pervades the work on social media.

I denna studie undersöktes designöverväganden för ett VR-system som ska stödja en arkitektonisk designprocess. Dagens användning av VR-system inom arkitektur är inte särskilt utbredd men anses vara ett stort framtida användningsområde för VR-teknik. Större delen av den forsk-ning som bedrivs inom VR-området fokuserar på tekniken i sig. VR-system skapade i demonstrationssyfte används till att undersöka fenomen som avståndsbedömning och navigeringsförmåga i virtuella världar. Denna forskning är viktig, men är inte tillräcklig för att ge vägledning i hur man bör designa ett VR-system som ska stödja en arkitektonisk process.
