Denna kandidatuppsats fokuserar på mötesplatser och dess roll i samhället. Här behandlas handelsplatsens funktion som mötesplats. Handelsplatsen är inte bara till för kommers utan fyller även en viktig funktion som mötesplats. Möjligheter till möten, att integrera med eller betrakta andra människor, är betydande för att stärka samhällets sociala kapital inom demokrati- och hälsoaspekter (Ericsson, 2003). Det har därmed varit relevant utifrån rollen som planeringsarkitekt att se över den fysiska miljön i centrum, och då specifikt vilka möjligheter det finns för platser att fortsätta vara attraktiva mötesplatser.

Developed model for easier animal welfare assessment- with examples from dairy cows in loose housingAnimals in captivity are completely dependent on human care. If captive animals are prevented from exhibiting their natural behavior, they may suffer. Animal welfare inspectors, who insure that the animal welfare legislation is followed, use a checklist to assess the situation in the husbandry. This checklist contains only two levels of assessment, which may result in a lack of detail in the assessment of the husbandry. The objective of this report was to develop a more detailed model that provides an overview of the situation in husbandry.

Bygg- och fastighetssektorn står för närmare 40 procent av Sveriges energianvändning och miljöpåverkan. Därför har större fokus på energieffektiva och miljöcertifierade byggnader ökat det senaste decenniet inom branschen. För att fortsätta utvecklingen framåt kom EU med direktiv för medlemsländerna, där mål sattes för åren 2020 och 2050 gällande energianvändningen.Syftet med arbetet är att ta reda på vilken påverkan olika faktorer har när kunderna gör sina val av bostäder i framtiden. Faktorer som arbetet främst fokuserar på är energi, miljö och utformning.Arbetet bygger till stor del på intervjuer från mäklare samt olika aktörer från byggbran-schen. Mäklarnas syn på vilka faktorer som eftersöks på marknaden ansågs som ett bra tillvägagångsätt eftersom det är de som jobbar med kunderna.

The climate for video sharing online is somewhere in the border of becoming a place for only the big companies to distribute material with general interest, or small communities with genre-specific interest to attract a larger audience. In this article I will look at the travelindustry to see what possibilities can be implemented into communities with interest in planning and travelling. I will argue that the importance of collaboration with different media can create a bigger picture so that more people can use and discover each other?s travel videos and experiences. I have also taken a closer look at social interaction at online communities such as MySpace and YouTube.

Det pågår en diskurs om att reducera bilismen och det blir därför allt viktigare att skapa hållbara gång- och cykelstråk. Detta eftersom bilismen påverkar staden negativt ur ett miljö- och trygghetsmässigt perspektiv. Då Karlskrona kommun avser att etablera ett nytt resecentrum med 450 närliggande bostäder i området Gullberna ökar behovet av ett väl fungerande gång- och cykelstråk för detta och omkringliggande områden. Det är därför av stor vikt att utveckla det gång- och cykelstråk som sträcker sig mellan bostadsområdena Kungsmarken och Marieberg via framtida Gullberna stationsområde och vidare mot halvexternt handelsområdet Amiralen för att tillgodose den nya befolkningsökningen i och med nybyggnation av bostäder och resecentrum..

Arbetet är en teoristyrd fallstudie på Amiralen och Slottsbackens handelsområden, med syfte att undersöka möjligheten att skapa en trevligare visuell externhandelsmiljö med hjälp av förtätning och funktionsintegrering. För att göra detta jämför och förenas handelsperspektiv på platsen med kända stadsbyggnadsbegrepp. Arbetes teori grundar sig på Jane Jacobs syn på staden som centrum för mångfald, Joel Garreaus teoretiserande av externhandelscentrumen utifrån begreppet Edge Cities, samt en syn på den täta staden som en hållbar stad. För att skapa den mångfaldiga staden krävs en inplantering av olika funktioner med olika tidsscheman, så att gaturummet ständigt befolkas av en varierande sammansättning människor. Vid sidan av detta förespråkas små kvarter, en tät stad med hög koncentration av människor och en bebyggelse med blandad bebyggelse från olika tidsåldrar.

This report is the result of a questionnaire survey done in cooperation with the company Sydved and their contractors. The investigation concerned all their ordinary contractors. The main goal with the study was to find out the contractors opinion about the current cooperation conditions with Sydved, their opinion about the future and how to improve the cooperation. All contractors got a questionnaire to fill in and return within a given date. The percentage of answers was 48 % at the first stage and further 11 % answered after reminder. The result of the investigation indicated that the contractors in general have a positive attitude to Sydved and the way that the company acts.

Weber and Linder (2005) have enlightened that the focus of the current debate on the budget?s to be or not be, has been on trying to find a general tool, which fits best in all situations. They argue that the budget may be more appropriate for organizations in certain circumstances, than for others. They claim that there is a gap in research concerning the situations in which the budget may be appropriate, or when Beyond budgeting is preferred. It is this gap we are trying to fill with our thesis.The purpose of the thesis is to explain which situational factors that affect the organization's use of budgets for the functions the budget can fulfill.

Warszawa är en stad som ständigt förändrats av historiska händelser, den viktigaste har kanske varit andra världskriget. I slutet av kriget var cirka 90% av staden jämnad med marken. Återuppbyggnaden under efterkrigstiden var under sovjetisk influens och det ledde till en på många sätt ofördelaktig fysisk struktur och därmed transportstruktur. Sedan järnridåns fall år 1989 utvecklas Polen och Warszawa på marknadsekonomiska premisser, vilket har lett till andra typer av problem såsom en starkt rotad ?bilist-kultur?.

This master thesis covers the seasonal planning of a small scale hydropower system. The system in this study is owned and operated by Mälarenergi Vattenkraft AB. The total system consists of 4 different main rivers with 24 hydropower stations and several dams. The total installed power in the system is 43.75 MW. Most of the hydropower stations are regarded as small scale hydropower stations and thus entitled to green certificates.In this report the issue of planning is formulated as an optimization problem.

Sustainable urban development is a concept that has become increasingly important as the urbanization continues and more and more challenges are focused to the cities.  The Swedish government and authorities regulates and sets goals for how a sustainable urban development is to be achieved. These laws and goals are vaguely defined, which leads to disputes between the actors about how the term should be interpreted. By examining Västermalms Strand, an urban development project in Stockholm, this study strives to describe how involved actors interpret the concept of sustainable urban development and what the consequences of this are for urban development in Stockholm from an ecological, social and economic perspective. A case study has been carried out where a document study and interviews have been conducted. The interviews were conducted with four key actors from the private and public sector.

The kimono is a simply cut costume with a very advanced tradition of the wearer, which Ihope to communicate through this essay. The long historical bakground of the kimono cangive a better understanding of its construction and its contexts as well as its individualconditions, all is to be taken in consideration before exhibiting the kimono. Relevantstudies in litterature has been applyed within these subjects, which are accounted forprimarily in the second and third chapter of this essay. The essay contains a study of thekimono with a strict delimitation towards four symbolic wearers, the subject is thenfurther discussed in relation to the different kind of installations at exhibits. In the fourthpart of the essay two educational study visits will function as a supplementary study forthe litterature studies meantioned earlier.

The aim of this thesis was to investigate the methods used by teachers and childrens' libra­rians concerning their work with fiction at the junior school level. Based on a series of qualitative interviews and by compiling a list of short summaries of literature relevant to our thesis we wished to reflect on the manner in which the respondents see themselves in their teaching roles.We also wanted to discover what problems they had in their work and what visions they held for the future. The methods used by the teachers were mainly: reading- both aloud and individually, process-oriented writing, use of fiction in thematic studies and dramatization. The teachers' aspirations for the future included a centrally situated school library and further education in children's literature. The teachers take the needs of their pupils as a starting point and build on these needs - using many years of literary teaching experience as a foundation."Booktalks" for the children and intermediaries (teachers ...)and education in books and library systems are the childrens' librarians main literaturepedagogic methods.

This paper aims to analyze the effect of the American Subprime crisis of 2007 through the perspective ofHaynes Minsky?s model according to Charles Kindleberger. The investigation revolves how the anatomyof a financial crisis develops and how it is applicable to the Subprime crisis. More specific conclusionsare derived from applying Minsky?s model to the three largest American indices; Dow Jones industrialaverage, S&P500 and NASDAQ.To deepen the analysis the Case-Shiller home price indices acts as a second parameter tocompliment Minsky?s perspective with Robert J.
