The aim for this paper has been to examine three textbooks designed for science education in upper secondary school in order to determine whether they convey any specific attitudes regarding what is considered to be ideal knowledge within the field of biology. The main focus has been to investigate if different types of design strategies have been used to emphasize certain values or attitudes and if this proves to be the case, how is this achieved specifically?                      For this purpose I have conducted several different qualitative linguistic analyses of the textbooks. The theoretical framework for the analyses lies within the main field of critical linguistics and more specifically in the context of systemic functional linguistics. The two main language models I have chosen to use for my investigations are functional grammar and multimodal text analysis.                      My results imply amongst other things that by conducting an overall assessment of the headlines in the textbooks a fair assessment can be made of which overall attitudes the books convey.

They manufacture their products according to the assembling for costumer order principle.The purpose with this thesis is to map and analyze, the assembling process and the test process at Lasermax Roll Systems AB.

Denna studie syftade till att undersöka om Typ A-beteende utvecklades och förstärktes i yrkeslivet eller om det utvecklades i ett tidigare skede före personen hade påbörjat sin utbildning och bara hade vaga föreställningar om vad som skulle krävas i yrkesrollen. Typ A-beteende förkortat TAB karakteriseras av ett antal olika personlighetsdrag ett av de mer framträdande är att personen är extremt tävlingsinriktad och högpresterande. Urvalsramen omfattade tre yrkeskategorier i Västra Götalands län. Deltagarna från de tre yrkeskategorierna var 21 polismän 14 lärare och 16 ingenjörer. Deltagarna fick genomföra ett av författaren egenkomponerat test för denna undersökning.

Abstract PurposeThis thesis aims to focus on how master students administer scholarly articles after they have found them. The purpose of the study is to detect how and to what extent people administer their articles from a personal information management-perspective (PIM).MethodTo answer the research questions, a web-based questionnaire survey was distributed which was announced to around 2,000 master students from different universities in Sweden. Most of the items in the survey focused on individual storage methods. The respondents were asked to rate the frequency of their different information administration behaviors on a seven level Likert-type-scale. Subsequently, items concerning specific information administration behaviors were posed, followed by questions on the respondent's sociodemographic status.

The animal welfare act in Sweden states that dairy cows need to have at least a dim light present at night, but there are no recommendations for what intensity the light should have. It is unknown how cows perceive and react to low light intensities and earlier studies on this topic are limited. Red light as night light has also been suggested, based on the cows? inability to perceive red light. This have however been questioned. The aim with this study was to investigate how four different light intensities affect dairy cows behavior.

Testen f?ljde standardiserade protokoll och m?tte objektiva v?rden som laktat, puls och RPE.

Bakgrund Att inducera en förlossning innebär att försöka manipulera igång ett förlossningsarbete i syfte att åstadkomma en vaginal förlossning. Nyttan med induktionen måste alltid överväga riskerna för förlossningskomplikationer. Riksgenomsnittet för inducerade förlossningar var år 2007, 13,2 %. Syfte Kartlägga inducerade förlossningar på en förlossningsklinik i södra Sverige under året 2009. Kartläggningen inbegrep induktionsindikation, använda induktionsmetoder samt förlossningsförlopp och utfall.

The aim of this essay is to create an understanding, of how teachers comprehend knowledge, grades and tests in a school context. It is important to get a grip of the different parts of the teacher?s reality. The test, the grades and knowledge are deeply connected as a part of a whole. The teachers view on knowledge can not be understood without asking about the practical parts of their work and understand how the different parts are dependent on each other.The main material consists of interviews with four teachers that work in a public mandatory school in the south suburbs of Stockholm.

Vilken kraft i Newton och Newtonsekund skapar en sopande curlingspelare?? Vilket förhållandet av samband mellan högt antal sopcykler och hög impuls vid sopning i curling råder?? Finns en signifikant skillnad mellan tre set av maximalsopning i form av sjunkande impuls?MetodTestgrupp bestod av nio curlingspelare, tre kvinnor och sex män deltog (m=30,7+5,7år, 76,667+8,43kg). En uppvärmning genomfördes med tio minuters cykling på en ergometercykel, Monark 318, och 15 armhävningar. Testet bestod av tre delar, del ett maximalt tryckförsök, del två sopning 10 sekunder, del tre sopning 25 sekunder i tre set. Avslutande test var tre upprepningar på 25 sekunder med maximal sopning.

Endast en bråkdel av alla artrospatienter träffar en sjukgymnast innan operation.

The purpose of this thesis has been to assess whether leaching from one particular Swedishlandfill site, Skörbytippen, is contributing to elevated levels of heavy metals in a ditch runningfrom the landfill site to the lake Mälaren in the communal region of Håbo kommun. Since theditch is stretching approximately five km downstream from the landfill site, in situ observationsand maps with known points of inflow was utilized to determine appropriate test points for thecollection of samples.Soil, water and sediment samples were collected and analyzed for content of organic material, pHand conductivity. Data on plant-available elements and total amounts of heavy metals wasacquired through ICP-analysis.The results show that the Skörby landfill is currently in the methane-forming anaerobedevelopment phase, which indicates that the concentration of free and complex-bound metals inthe leachate water should be low due to chemical binding with other landfill compounds. The pHof the sediment samples was generally one unit higher than the soil samples and some of themeasured data, such as pH and conductivity, show that an environmentally disturbing dischargeof some kind of strongly alkaline chemical(s) has been made from Benders? takpanneindustri inclose proximity to the landfill.

The report presents a thesis carried out on behalf of the company SAAB Training and Simulation which is situated in Huskvarna. The authors of this report are going to graduate as mechanical engineers focusing on product development and design, and this thesis should reflect the knowledge obtained during the education. The assignment, given from the company was to develop a concept of a stand that will constitute as a part of a mobile system for target practice. The reader get to follow throughout the project and can hopefully learn from the smart solutions and approaches that have arisen during the process.Today SAAB doesn?t have a mobile application in their portfolio that utilizes the benefits of their sensor measuring system, also called the LOMAH-bar.

Detta examensarbete är den avslutande kursen i civilingenjörsprogrammet Teknisk design, med inriktning produktdesign, vid Luleå tekniska universitet. Arbetet har utförts av Mikael Vikström i samarbete mellan Permobil AB och Luleå tekniska universitet. Arbetet påbörjades i Januari 2013 och avslutades i Maj 2013. Det har utförts vid produktutvecklingsavdelningen (Research & Development) vid Permobils huvudkontor i Timrå.Arbetet innefattar utvecklingen av nya stödytor till ett standardnackstöd, samt utveckling av ett designmetodikkoncept för implementering i Permobil AB:s nuvarande produktutvecklingsmetodik. Syftet har varit att skapa ett nytt standardnackstöd och använda det utvecklingsprojektet som en plattform för att, i samband med studier av den nuvarande produktutvecklingsprocessen, utveckla en metodik för mer designmetvetenhet i konstruktörernas arbete.Utvecklingsprojektet med nackstödet har bland annat innefattat ergonomiska studier, konceptgenerering, utvärdering och framställning av en funktionell prototyp.

Children with Reading and Writing Difficulties and Their Language and Cognitive AbilitiesA Comparison with Children with a Cochlear ImplantAbstractThe aim of this study was to examine the cognitive abilities that are important for reading in children with reading disabilities, children with a cochlear implantation and typically developed children. 64 children aged 10-12 years participated in the study. To answer the question at issue we used the following tests: Block Design from WISC III, PPVT III, TOWRE, SL 40 and a few chosen tests out of the SIPS battery. On tests of the lexical access children with reading disabilities performed at the same level as hearing children, while the children with a cochlear implant performed significantly lower. Test of the phonological and complex working memory showed that children with reading disabilities performed significantly higher than children with a cochlear implant, but at the same time lower than typically developed children on the test of phonological working memory.
