Officially, the EU gender policy since 2000 has been guided by the strategy of Gender Mainstreaming. This strategy aims to promote gender equality and is informed by a feminist ontology which stipulates that women are structurally subordinated.In this essay, I examine whether the European Commission has adequately adhered to this gender policy in its free trade negotiations with the ACP (African, Caribbean, and Pacific) countries as part of the Cotonou Agreement. As a result of my text analysis of documents related to the negotiations, opinion pieces by interested actors and policy papers of the EU, I find that the Commission does not act in accordance to its stated gender policy.To explain this discrepancy between policy intent and actions, I employ postliberal feminist theory and Robert Putnam's Two-Level Game Theory Model. By analyzing statistics and published research, I explore how gender issues are being represented politically on a domestic and international level.My findings show that a key cause of this discrepancy lies in the low levels of female participation in the political institutions of the EU and ACP; a lack of participation that is especially pronounced in the area of international economics. In explaining the constraints on female participation and the prospects of full implementation of the EU's gender policy in the international political economy, I emphasize the role of culturally and historically gendered institutions..

Thirteen percent of the Swedish children declare that they have been beaten by their parents or other adults. While interviewing these children it has been discovered that they want adults to talk to them more about the violence they have experienced. Through intense research the understanding of the importance of asking patients about violence has deepened, during the last years and this year a new Swedish law has been instituted about the matter. The Swedish school nurses work shall be health promoting and preventive, due to the Swedish law about schooling. In this work the school nurses have an institutionalized task in performing health consultations with every one of the Swedish children.

Over the past decade, the fashion industry has experienced a relatively high rate of consumption with material and clothing becoming increasingly subject to waste and disposal. As a result of the increased awareness within the industry the interest in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) amongst retailers has increased substantially in an attempt to shy away from the critically amplified media attention. In addition the underlying demand from external stakeholders has forced companies to ensure they focus and act upon each stage of the product life cycle.This study provides a further in depth analysis of the fashion industry and conveys the key messages and steps that firms are taking in response to the external pressures and requirements based on four different merged process areas. This research paper examines the impact of CSR on two Swedish fashion retailers Åhléns and JC and shows how accountability relates to the external expectations and norms that prevail in society. The result shows that the firms do meet the demands within each sub category as a response to market demands.

Sedan många år har kritik riktats mot statliga myndigheters konkurrensbegränsande effekt på de fria marknaderna. Både Konkurrensverket och privata aktörer på marknaden anklagar myndigheterna för att subventionera sina konkurrensutsatta tjänster med skattemedel. Rapporter från Statskontoret och Konkurrensverket föreslår att statliga myndigheter borde förbjudas att bedriva verksamhet på konkurrensutsatta marknader. Påståendet att myndigheterna finansierar sin verksamhet på den fria marknaden med skattemedel, grundar sig i att de finansieras både av privata kunder och skattebetalare. Myndigheterna skall vid prissättning av sina konkurrensutsatta tjänster, i normala fall tillämpa full kostnadstäckning, vilket innebär att de varken borde göra vinst eller förlust på försäljningen.

At the moment in central Täby there are small district heating network operated by Fortum Heat. The distribution network has an annual heat demand of about 70 GWh, which is supported by the network's two plants, Galten and Farmen. Täby as a region is rapidly growing and there are grand plans to develop the area. Estimated market potential for a future district heating expansion in Täby is very high and as early as in 2007 Täby decided to invest in a large-scale expansion. In autumn 2009 Täby did a procurement process, known as the ?Täby initiative?, to find a partner that could implement those expansion plans. To secure a cheap basic production the partner also need to build a power plant at Hagby recycling center. Despite high interest during initial state of the process, only one procurement offer were received and Täby suspended the contract in March the following year.

The trend in the transport sector is moving towards eco-friendly, fast and convenient transportation,this results in higher demands on railway transports. To meet the demand and quality requirements,the Swedish railway network will have to expand. The cheapest way is to expand little by little butwhat impact do these small steps actually have on the capacity?This thesis examines the interactions of different improvement for the capacity on a single-trackrailway. Through simulations in the software tool RailSys this report studies what effect block signals,extra meeting stations and rebuilding existing two track passing loops to three track loops have onthe capacity.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva olika former av beröring samt dess effekt för personer med sjukdomen demens. Sökningarna har gjorts i databaserna Pubmed, Cinahl och sökmotorn ELIN@du.se med sökorden: massage, dementia, nursing, home, touch, older, patients, therapeutic touch, care och therapy. Artiklarna var utförda mellan år 2000 till 2009 och var kvalitativa och kvantitativa och utgjorde urvalet. För att värdera de utvalda artiklarna användes granskningsmallar. Resultat visade att beröring gav positiva effekter på stress och agiterat beteende såsom skrikbeteende och fysiskt upprört beteende.

The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine male social workers experiences of working in a female dominated work. The aim with this study was to find out how men perceive working with mostly women and how this effects their construction of masculinity. The theories that have been used in this study are a social constructive perspective on gender, Chodorows (1995) Theory of Socialization and Connells (2008) Theory of Masculinities. The method used in this study is qualitative interviews based on the experiences of five male social workers in Sweden.The interviews have been recorded and retailed in text in its full version, to enable analysis out of the above mentioned theories and earlier studies. The result of the study shows that the men in this study experience mostly benefits from working with women and they feel appreciated as being men.

Storleken och komplexiteten på dagens system och applikationer ökar. Detta leder till att kraven på system och applikationer ökar också eftersom kunderna kräver av dagens system full funktionalitet inom olika typer av distribuerade miljöer. Kunder är inte bara intresserade av funktionerna i systemen och applikationerna, de förväntar sig också att systemet skall vara av god kvalitet. Av dessa skäl är det mycket viktigt att testa system och applikationer för att säkerställa att de uppfyller kundernas förväntningar. Däremot är det inte bara själva mjukvarans kvalitets frågor som organisationer behöver ha i åtanke, en lika viktig del är själva testprocessens kvalitet.

Undersökningens utgångspunkt ligger i interoperabiliteten mellan den svenska planeringsmodellen, PUT och den norska planeringsmodellen, PBP. Arbetet syftar till att undersöka om ett samarbete i en stab på taktisk nivå går att realisera, utan nämnvärd utbildning.Bakgrunden till arbetet ligger i grunden i propositionen ett användbart försvar där riktlinjerna visar på att svenska försvarsmakten ska verka och samarbeta med andra nationer och organisationer där fokus ligger på det nordiska samarbetet. Planering är den viktigaste faktorn vid all verksamhet och således en grundläggande faktor för ett väletablerat samarbete.Metoden som används i undersökningen är en teorikonsumerande metod, där en teori om interoperabilitet ska bidra till att analysera interoperabiliteten i modellerna. Genom teorin har variablar identifierats och blivit utgångspunkten för det empiriska materialet. Det empiriska materialet renderar i en jämförandeanalys mellan planeringsmodellerna som syftar till att svara på frågeställningarna i arbetet.Slutsatserna som dragits av undersökningen är att planeringsmodellerna inte är tillräckligt interoperabla med varandra för att i dagsläget realisera ett samarbete i en taktisk stab.

Several theoretic and environmental psychological models establish a connection between the environment and the reactions of humans and the research support that there is a mutual influence between individual, environmental and behavioral factors. You often assume that a person both can influence and be influenced by the surrounding environment. This is evident, but it is less obvious how a given physical design influence people?s immediate behavior in the city. The aim of this study was to investigate if the physical design of a place influences people in an urban environment and to investigate how the behavior is influenced.

Each time you pass a stand full of magazines it?s hard not to absorb the many exhortations that are being thrown at you. The range of different lifestyle magazines have more or less exploded during the last years. All magazines, each one trying to outmatch the other, want to help you improve to be the best you can.People get affected by their surroundings including what they see and what they read. Therefore we chose to do this study, as an opportunity to get a closer look on what the Swedish lifestyle magazines Cosmopolitan and Café tell us about women and men.

Denna uppsats behandlar den nya prototypen för radiosystem som tagits fram inom projektet GTRS. Systemet jämförs med det äldre taktiska radiosystemet Radio 180 för att få fram vad som egentligen skiljer mellan dessa. Därefter behandlas Nordic Battlegroup 2011, där det utreds vilka uppgifter förbandet skall klara av och några typfall baserat på uppgifterna. Uppbyggnad och funktion för förbandets sambandssystem beskrivs också där själva kommunikationsnätet från Sverige till missionsområde avhandlas. Även de olika radioapparaterna som nyttjas och deras användningsområde behandlas.
