An algorithm for calculating voltage sag characteristics and indices was created in Matlab.

To be able to study the amino acid composition of a protein it is necessary to hydrolyse it, followed by separation and quantification. When the protein is hydrolysed, in this case ß-lactoglobulin, the protein is divided into individual amino acids. The method that traditionally has been used to hydrolyse proteins takes 24-72 hours to complete.

Målet är att identifiera olika metoder och reflektera över på vilket sätt metoderna förmedlar programmens budskap. Metod:           Vi har utfört en kvalitativ analys av tre olika barnprogram utifrån filmteori och semiotik.Resultat:           Vi har kommit fram till att olika program använder skilda metoder för att förmedla sitt budskap. Metoderna skiljer sig åt beroende på vilken målgrupp man riktar sig, vad man har för intentioner med programmet och vad programmet handlar om.  .

 Genotyping can be used to link genetic variation among individuals to certain diseases or conditions. Some known disorders and states that are dependent on single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) are lactose intolerance, venous thrombosis, hereditary hemochromatosis and the difference in sensibility among people to metabolise drugs.In this project a new kit, TaqManÒ Sample-to-SNP KitÔ for extraction of DNA and preparation of the extract for genotyping with real-time PCR and allelic discrimination, was evaluated. QIAamp® DNA Blood Biorobot® MDx Kit was used as the reference method.The purpose of the comparison was to find a method that makes DNA extraction from blood samples cheaper and faster, but with the same reliability as the reference procedure.The results of the evaluation showed a complete agreement of the genotype results between the methods tested, which means that the new method was as reliable as the reference method. The costs of reagents and material would be reduced with 52% if the new method is adopted, that alone would result in a cost reduction of 144 000SEK a year with a sample volume of 650 samples/month. The time for DNA extraction would also be reduced with the new procedure. .

Allt fler utländska företag har under de senaste åren valt att etablera sig på den svenska marknaden. Globaliseringen har resulterat i att olika kulturer allt mer möts inom det svenska näringslivet. Olika kulturer medför olika syn på exempelvis ledarskap och auktoritet som i ett samarbete kan skapa kulturkrockar.Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka hur ledare från olika kulturer uppfattar de relationer som uppstår då olika kulturer interagerar i affärssammanhang, samt att diskutera om detta kan påverka ledarnas ledarskapsstil. Detta med utgångspunkt i mötet mellan svenska och japanska företag. Uppsatsen har bland annat tittat på vad det är för kulturkrockar som kan uppstå när olika kulturer möts, hur svenskar och japaner uppfattar kommunikationen med varandra samt vad det är för skillnader på beslutsfattande och delegering svenskar och japaner emellan.Studien har genomförts som en kvalitativ studie med fem svenska och fyra japanska respondenter. De teorier som använts är teorin om Schein's olika kulturnivåer, Lewis kulturella grupper samt en av Yukl's teorier om ledarskapsstilar.Efter genomförda intervjuer dras slutsatsen att både de svenska och de japanska respondenterna uppfattar relationerna mellan de båda kulturerna som fungerande, men att det ibland uppstår kulturkrockar.

It isbased on a combination of a qualitative and a·quantitative method.Using a qualitative method, I give an outline of the history of lran from ancient times up to the present, as well as the different ethnological groups in Iran and their cultures. The main objective of this part is to clarify the contrasts between Iranian and Swedish cultural, social, linguistic and family structures, and also the characteristics of the crisis that most immigrants go through on their arrival in the new country. The qualitative method also involves structured telephone interviews with eight highly educated Iranians.This method was supplemented by a quantitative study through questionnaires of the attitudes· of lranian immigrants to libraries and reading. Iranians in Sweden turned out to be frequent Iibrary users.

This Masters thesis work describes a comparison between two different methods for estimation of the down channel (base station to mobile subscriber) in Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA). The first estimation method, Optimal Feed-forward Channel Estimation (OFCE), is a conventional method that bases the estimates on data that is known to both sender and receiver, so called pilots. The second method, Decision Directed Channel Estimation (DDCE), is an elaboration of OFCE. It also uses user data for estimation. Simulations show that DDCE, in comparison to OFCE, does not attain an improvement in signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) for high bit error rates (BER).
