I min rapport presenterar jag en fältundersökning för att hitta olika lösningar för att behandla realtidsvideo. De programmeringsgränssnitt som det främst riktar sig till är Matlab och Java. Rapporten är tänkt att ge vägledning och fungera som en guide för dem som önskar arbeta med enklare former av realtidsbehandling av video. Jag kommer dels att gå igenom rena Matlab- och javalösningar och dels visa hur olika tekniker kan kombineras för att åstadkomma ytterligare tekniker för att behandla realtidsvideo. För full förståelse av rapportens alla delar rekommenderas att läsaren har grundläggande kunskaper om programmering i Matlab och Java..

In recent years, existing solutions for cooling personal computer CPUs have been supplemented by a new product category, factory sealed water cooling loops. These systems, consisting of a water block with an integrated pump, a fan and a radiator, perform well compared to the air cooling solutions but are less effective than larger, custom-built water cooling systems.This project aims to explore the most important aspects of a factory sealed system and to identify possible cost-effective enhancements of the performance.The most significant differences between the different groups of water cooling loops are the block design and the pumping power. The performance of both categories is also largely dependent on the fan power, but increasing fan power has a large negative impact on the noise level.Both radiator size and fan model choice appear, in tests, to be relatively unimportant, presuming that the noise level is kept constant. The position and direction of the fan, however, has significant impact on both the temperature and the sound level.Water blocks can be designed in several different ways, both regarding the heatsink design and the flow direction. In simulation, flow with the inlet centered above the heatsink result in considerably lower pressure drop and slightly higher temperatures than flow through the block, for heatsinks with fin arrays.Creating a competitive product in this product segment certainly seems possible, as there are performance-increasing changes to be made that seemingly has little impact on the production cost.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att studera hur bulkemulsionsprängämnen (bulkemulsioner) tenderar att penetrera sprickor. Eftersom bulkemulsioner kan variera stort i sin sammansättning och konsistens, är det av betydelse att utifrån den lokalt dominerande geologin veta vilken sammansättning bulkemulsionen bör ha. Målen med detta examensarbete var att: a) identifiera och undersöka sprickegenskaperna i Aitikgruvans berggrund, b) genom lokalt utförda fältförsök samt med teoretisk modellering, skaffa erfarenhet och utvärderingsmaterial i hur bulkemulsionen uppträder vid olika sprickvidder och c) med ledning av resultaten från arbetet, kunna ge indikationer om vilka parametrar man bör beakta gällande bulkemulsionens sammansättning och konstitution vid applikationer där tektoniska element förekommer i större omfattning. Förhoppningsvis skall resultaten leda till förståelse och nyfikenhet hos beställare och leverantörer av sprängämnen samt forskning om bulkemulsioners sammansättning vid skiftande geologiska miljöer. För att möjliggöra studier av bulkemulsionens utträngningsegenskaper på ett rättvisande sätt, föll det sig naturligt att göra försöken i full skala.

Galna Glassen is a company that has a unique way of selling ice cream in Sweden. The idea is for the costumer to be able to compose their own favorite ice cream, partly by choosing the flavor of ice cream but also by picking the ingredients. The ingredients that can be chosen from are around twenty and can be everything from cookies to candy to berries. When the costumer has chosen their ice cream and ingredients they are mixed together on a cooled granite board.The company was very successful when it was founded in the summer of 2011 and decided to expand to other cities in Sweden. They also wanted to explore the profitability of a mobile sales unit that is intended for festivals and events.The thesis is meant to develop Galna Glassen?s mobile sales unit.

The aim with this study has been to examine and to analyze the discourse of Rosengård in Swedish media. With the concept of discourse is meant here specific ways to speak about and to understand the world, or a part of it. In order to reach increased understanding regarding media presentations and constructions of Rosengård, I have done a study about how Rosengård has been presented in the Swedish daily and evening press during the violent acts that took place in Rosengård in the spring and summer of 2008, when youths regarding to media put cars and containers on fire, and also threw stones at fire engines and other emergency service vehicles when these had to turn out to put out the fires. The collected data, containing newspaper articles, has been analyzed on the basis of the critical discourse analysis, CDA, which is a mould of a textanalytical method. This study applies a social constructivist perspective.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att lära sig att genomföra ett programutvecklingsprojekt under realistiska förutsättningar och därigenom få erfarenheter som är relevanta för yrkeslivet. En grupp på åtta personer arbetade under en termin med ett projekt som handlade om utvecklingen av ett obemannat luftburet radiometrisystem. Ett lättare system efterfrågades för att förlänga flygtiden. Under utvecklingen tillämpades metoder från Semat, Scrum och Extreme Programming. Utvecklingsarbetet fungerade bra och en lösning för problemet togs fram, systemet hann dock inte implementeras full ut.

This degree project has been carried out by Carolina Rapp and Jenny Tauson, students at Innovation and Design Engineer program at the Faculty of Technology and science at Karlstad University. The project was carried during Spring of 2009 and took 15 weeks of full time work.  Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group is an Austria/Switzerland corporate group and its associated company Doppelmayr Scandinavia lies in Sunne, Sweden. Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group is the world quality and technology leader in ropeway engineering. The degree project goal was to develop a new shaping of a surface lift. There are two kinds of surface lifts, platter and T-bars. The two kinds of surface lifts have some variation in design but only minor differences.

Bakgrund: Ungefär en miljon människor mister sitt liv av suicid årligen i hela världen. Det finns psykosociala, kliniska och biologiska faktorer bakom suicidala handlingar. Huruvida suicid utvecklas belyses i en suicidal process. Vården efter ett misslyckat suicidförsök upplevs oftast obehagligt och känsloladdat för suicidnära individen. Målen med vården är bland annat att främja patientsäkerheten.

The consultancy firm Knowit sought a smartphone application for communication between schools and pupils. Together with the students, it was decided to create the app both for Android and for iPhone. The project would produce a prototype app with limited functionality usable as a proof-of-concept in communication with potential customers.The questions that have characterized the work are; what features would be demanded in a school app, how to program user-friendly functionality and how to use object-orientation to design such an app. A question has also mentioned the differences between development for iOS and Android. The work was done in an iterative process in which the students worked together with planning, programming and testing.

 AbstractA walk at Karlstad's cemetery and burial - grounds is like a strolling in an architectural park with trees, bushes and flowers. But these parks are different; they are filled with dead people, their memorial stones and their life stories. This world is full of socially, economically and culture differences from different times from 19th century till today's society. The cemetery - and burial - grounds in Karlstad can tell you about 19th century influences just by looking at the stones and where they are placed. Influences from the religion, the Christianity, which symbols for example is the cross, the birds and the sun that rises or falls, but also phrases that is directing to the bible.

Investment aid is a part of the Rural Area Programme, which contains support to Swedish agriculture and the countryside. There is a new programme every seventh year and SLU (Swedish University of Agriculture) has the mission to perform the evaluation of the previous programme, which lasted between 2000 -2006. The investment aid's aim is to support investments that, among other things, support the adaptation or conversion to more environmentally friendly production methods, improves the product quality, develops new or complementing activities, and improves the environment and the animal- and working environment. The question is if it's only money that matters for these kinds of investments to be done and what has happened with the money that was paid? This thesis investigates how the investment aid has affected the receivers.

The Swedish model for developing the national infrastructure is based on increasing the cooperation between municipalities, government and businesses. The method to establish the infrastructure in Sweden is the geodatastrategin. The effort to implement the geodatastrategin has resulted in an interaction model, Geodatasamverkan. The purpose of this study is to alert municipalities and to investigate the usefulness of their participation in Geodatasamverkan. The study also presents examples of different applications where geodata can be used within a municipality. The report is based on literature reviews, surveys and interviews. Online Surveys were sent to some of Sweden's municipalities to get an overall idea of ??how they make use of geodata and their general attitude towards Geodatasamverkan.

The study was conducted at a business in the social service. The purpose was to examine how the business works with human resource planning. In order to answer the purpose two questions was formulated, which human resource planning strategy does the business use? And, how do businesses need to act according to the theory of strategic manpower to achieve human resource planning? Survey data collection was done through a qualitative research design, where interviews with five employees in the business took place.The study shows that the business is using a own made strategy in order to achieve human resource planning. The strategy consists of two steps, in step one they do an background analysis and step two a needs analysis where a goal- and responsibility description are designed and then a set of requirements.

Laminitis has crippled horses through times and many cures have been used to treat it. Since the mechanism of the disease is yet not fully understood, treatments are only ways to alleviate the pain and at best, slow down the pathological process enough to make time for improvement. This paper is a retrospective study of 71 horses treated by a protocol at Hästsjukhuset Strömsholm. The protocol implies three visits at zero, five and fifteen weeks. At each the horse is evaluated and treated by a veterinarian.
