Previous research analyzing information and communication effects regarding high-involvement purchases has so far concerned communication length and the use of salient attributes. Studies investigating the effects of communication on a word-level is however limited. For a high-involvement purchase like an apartment the need for information is vital in the customers purchase decision. The main purpose of this study is to investigate whether the communication in the prospectus varies based on sales success. The study connects research in information search, high-involvement purchases, communication length and information vividness.

The first information recruiters have access to, when recruiting a new co-worker is the applicantÂŽs CV. It may even happen that the applicants are sending a photo with the CV, which can lead to the possibility that the appearance of the applicant will affect the assessment. Previous research shows that individuals who are regarded as beautiful get a better assessment than those who are considered to be ugly or mediocre looking, but if this can be prevented through awareness, the problem can easily be counteracted. The purpose of this thesis is to, through an experimental study, investigate whether recruiters can avoid being affected by the applicant?s appearance in the assessment of their CV if they receive information about the stereotypical thinking that is tied to a person's appearance.

Bröstcancer drabbar 10 till 15 kvinnor dagligen och utgör dÀrmed den vanligaste formen av cancer hos kvinnor. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka behovet av information och stöd hos kvinnor med bröstcancer. Genom att göra en litteraturstudie kan vetenskaplig kunskap frÄn ett flertal artiklar sammanstÀllas och komma till nytta i det kliniska arbetet. Resultatet visade att bröstcancerpatienters hade ett stort behov av information och stöd, detta behov mÄste dock identifieras individuellt för varje patient. Dessa patienter ansÄg att information om möjligheten att bli botad, behandlingsalternativ samt recidiv var viktig.

Bakgrund: DÄ en person drabbas av stroke blir han/hon beroende av hjÀlp och dÄ kÀnner anhöriga att de ofrivilligt fÄr ansvaret att vÄrda sin familjemedlem. För de anhöriga Àr det oftast en ny okÀnd vÀrld som öppnar sig och deras informationsbehov Àr stort. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva det behov av information och stöd som anhöriga till de som drabbats av stroke har. Metod: En litteraturstudie dÀr 17 vetenskapliga artiklar granskades och en innehÄllsanalys gjordes enl. Forsberg och Wengström.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate adult students information seeking. We draw a distinction between traditional timetabled studies, flexitime studies and external studies. For many adult students flexitime studies and external studies involve a new kind of studying. The new types of studies entail that adult students must apply themselves to more information seeking. In our study we investigate how the students proceed when seeking information.

This master's thesis examines information literacy and students in secondary education. The study is framed within a sociocultural perspective of learning and the method used is questionnaires. The major question posed is how and where students seek information. Other questions are if the students critically evaluate and analyse in­formation sources and if teachers and school librarians cooperate with each other in order to help the students with their assignments.The findings indicate that most students regard information seeking as fact-finding or finding the right an­swers to the question. Only one third of students experienced information seeking as seeking and using informa­tion for understanding a topic.

This essay answers the question: How can a manufacturing business fulfill the information demand in the processes; purchasing, production, warehousing, order and delivery?The question has been answered through different kind of studies, such as literature, documents, Internet search, interviews and observations. The result has been validated by two different manufacturing businesses.A simple information logistic model is the result of a comparison made between theory and empery. The aim of the model is to describe how a manufacturing business can fulfill the information demand by using different methods.

Antalet intranÀt vÀxer stÀndigt, samtidigt som allt fler mÀnniskor kÀnner att de inte kan ta till sig all den information som de erhÄller. IntranÀten innehÄller en mÀngd anvÀndbar information som alla anstÀllda kan ta del av. För att kunna anvÀnda intranÀtet effektivt krÀvs det att anvÀndarna sorterar bland all den information som finns pÄ intranÀtet. Med hjÀlp av anvÀndarprofiler kan detta ske pÄ ett enkelt sÀtt. Syftet med detta arbete var att behandla frÄgan om anvÀndarprofiler kan bidra till att bÀttre beslut tas genom att information overload reduceras.

En kvalitativ studie genomfördes för att studera vad som pÄverkar och skapar motivation till beteendeförÀndring hos drogmissbrukare. Studien undersökte ocksÄ miljöns betydelse för att bryta ett drogmissbruk. En intervjuguide med öppna frÄgor skapades. Genom ett kriteriebaserat snöbollsurval kontaktades tio personer varav nio mÀn och drogfriheten var i genomsnitt 3.2 Är. Enligt drive theories Àr motivation en drivkraft som ger energi till att sÀtta igÄng, upprÀtthÄlla och rikta behovsrelaterade mÄl.

This thesis deals with information provision to the knowledge intense biotechnology businesses of Ideon Science Park in Lund, Sweden. Previous research concerning the information needs of Science Park companies has been conducted from the information provider s perspective. Instead, we apply a user perspective to find out what information needs these companies have, and how they prefer to acquire information. Central terms are: information, -needs, -acquisition, -consciousness, -strategy, small and medium sized enterprises, scientists and engineers, information (resources) management, networks, tacit knowledge, knowledge transfer and innovative milieux. The companies need scientific and business information; the latter is easily obtained within Ideon.

The purpose of this study was to describe how journalists do research for their articles and whether there is a need to create a knowledge bank of the material that journalists use for writing these articles. I also looked at how knowledge management could be used at a daily newspaper to add value to the information used by the journalists. The thesis is based on four interviews with journalists, a literature review and a practical project. I helped a journalist with his information seeking and later tried to organize the material. This project gave me an understanding of how varying the material that journalists use is and how difficult it would be to try to organize it in order to create an organizational knowledge resource of the material.

AbstractInformation and information seeking have always been important parts of society. How behavioural patterns of information seeking manifest themselves are partly due to individual prerequisites and partly due to the practice where the seeking of information is conducted.The aim of this study is to investigate a group of newly examined physicians? experiences of information seeking behaviour in their educational practice and in their professional practice. The two practices are related to each other but still very different. This makes it interesting to study whether individuals? information seeking behaviour changes when they move from the educational practice to the professional.The theoretical framework for the current study is a socio-cultural one.

Den svenska vÀrnplikten (1901-2010) var obligatorisk för mÀn men frivillig för kvinnor, som inte tillÀts göra militÀrtjÀnst förrÀn pÄ 1980-talet. Som plikt enbart för mÀn sÀnde vÀrnplikten tydliga signaler om samhÀllets syn pÄ könsskillnader. Syftet Àr att undersöka hur nÄgra av de fÄ kvinnor som har gjort militÀrtjÀnst upplevde sin tid inom Försvarsmakten, genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med 13 kvinnor som har genomfört vÀrnplikten. Genom tematisk analys utkristalliserades Ätta deskriptiva teman: valet attgöra vÀrnplikt, kÀnslan av att sticka ut och stÄ i fokus, relationen till andra vÀrnpliktiga kvinnor, det speciella med att leva tÀtt ihop med mÀn, gruppens betydelse för individen, bemötandet frÄn befÀl och vÀrnpliktiga, samt det hÄrda klimatet och dess betydande pÄverkan pÄ individen. Respondenterna tjÀnstgjorde pÄ mÀnnens villkor i en fientlig arbetsmiljö.

Sedan den första november 2010 finns det inte lÀngre nÄgot lagkrav pÄ att samtliga svenskaaktiebolag ska anvÀnda sig av en revisor. Trots att de minsta bolagen nu Àr undantagna frÄnlagen vÀljer den största delen av dem fortfarande att anvÀnda sig av en revisor. Dennaundersökning försöker svara pÄ frÄgan varför. Genom att intervjua fyra redovisningskonsulteroch fÄ deras syn pÄ revision i de minsta bolagen hoppas författaren kunna ge Ànnu enförklaring till varför sÄ mÄnga bolag fortfarande revideras efter införandet av den nyaregleringen. Resultatet visar att de frÀmsta anledningarna till att sÄ stor andel valt att behÄllarevisorn Àr pÄ grund av ett delat Àgande, en relation till en bank som krÀver revision eller föratt bolaget och redovisningskonsulten vill kunna fÄ hjÀlp i svÄrare skattefrÄgor som kanuppkomma.

The purpose of this study was to describe how nurses, working in primary health care and responsible for diabetes care, reflected on patient information and education, its? content and experiences of providing it. The study had a descriptive design and seven nurses from seven health care units in the middle of Sweden participated in the study. Data were analyzed with qualitative content analysis. The results are presented in two main categories; ?The information? and ?The procedure?.
