The purpose of this study was to build a database for point-bearing piles in dense noncohesive soil, predominantly moraine. Further, the database was analysed and areas with difficult geotechnical conditions was identified.The database includes for point-bearing piles driven to refusal in moraine. Piles with mainly shaft friction have been excluded. Only concrete piles have been included. Geographically the database covers almost all geotechnical conditions of Sweden.

SammanfattningSyftet med studien var att undersöka pedagogiskt drama som verktyg för barns lärande och utveckling i grundskolans tidigare år. För att bringa klarhet i detta använde vi oss av följande frågeställning;Hur uppfattas och används pedagogiskt drama i förskol- och skolundervisning?Hur reflekterar lärare och dramapedagoger kring lärandet vid användning av pedagogiskt drama i undervisning? Hur skulle lärare i grundskolans tidigare år kunna integrera pedagogiskt drama i/med övrig skolundervisning?Vi har använt oss av kvalitativa intervjuer och enkäter som metod. Vi har intervjuat tre dramapedagoger samt en grundskollärare. Vidare har vi delat ur enkäter till verksamma pedagoger ute på fältet.  Det resultat vi kommit fram till, visar på att pedagogiskt drama inte används integrerat i undervisningen i så stor utsträckning.

During my research I have interviewed ambulance personnel from different cities and a trauma surgeon to get a better understanding of how they work today and the problems they experience. Some of the problem areas are that you need a lot of force to remove the helmet, that the padding catches the ears and that the chin guard catches the face. Since ambulance personnel always assume that there is a neck injury after an accident, all these problems make it difficult to remove the helmet safely.The result is a motorcycle helmet with a focus on safe removal after an accident, to reduce the risk of worsening a neck injury. The solution suggested is that a small part of the back of the helmet is detachable, to make the opening larger.

Lars Höglund AB is one of Scandinavia?s most qualified manufacturers of sheet metal products and provides custom designed products of very detailed precision. One of the main methods of manufacturing is laser cutting. When Lars Höglund AB signed up a new customer, with high demands in tolerances for the products, Lars Höglund AB thought it would be necessary to know the capability of the laser cutting machine. Also the process of how to retrieve this capability was interesting. The capability will be researched for the following elements: Cutting right angles in squares with a corner radius of 1 mmCutting corners which are not right angleCutting of circles with constant radius Measurements were made on 150 pieces of sheet metal details, which had been cut out by the machine.  The data from the measurements where later used to study the capability.

This thesis has the overall objective to develop the optimum sealing system between the retarder and transmission. Today, there is a pressure-relief and two radial seals separation between the retarder and transmission. It has been found that carbon residue formation may occur between retarder axle and seal lips with, in some cases, leakage as a result.We have in this thesis tried to explain the phenomenon of carbon residue, how it is formed and why it can be seen just on the seals? A rig test was conducted where we show how friction, speed, transmission temperature and mitigation phases of the retarder affects temperatures in the sealing environment. Factors affecting the coke structure are reported, together with proposals for measures that provide a mitigating seal environment.

As the volumes are entering the world of computer graphics the pure volume visualisation becomes a more important tool in for example research and medical applications. But the advance in haptics --- force feedback from the computer --- is behind. In volume haptics no equal to the proxy method so popular in surface haptics has yet emerged. Some implementations of volume haptics even use surfaces as intermediate representations so that surface haptics can be used.The intention of this work was to create natural feeling haptic feedback from volumetric density data using pure volume haptics. The haptic algorithm would be implemented in Reachin API for the Reachin Desktop Display, together with other parts to build up a usable volume visualisation environment.To achieve the feeling of stiffness and friction dependent on tissue type, a proxy based method was developed.

A new type of device for measuring thev m& ?rate of fuel sprays from a diesel fuel injector has been developed and the various steps in the development are described. The device works by deflecting all of the sprays from the injector at the same time by using a bell shaped deflector. A load cell consisting of a machined steel part with strain gauges mounted on it measures the resulting force. The shape of the curvature in the deflector bell shape has been evaluated by photographing the flow in a 2D?version of the curve shape.

Ovissheten är en del i det Clausewitz benämner som krigets atmosfär, populär kallat krigets dimma. Det finns de som hävdar att ovisshet är något som kan avhjälpas med bättre sensorer samtidigt som det finns de som hävdar att ovissheten genomsyrar alla militära operationer. I det här arbetet skall ovissheten i ett specifikt fall belysas i syfte att möjiggöra en diskussion om hur ovissheten kan te sig i militära operationer.  Arbetet sker genom en fallstudie av delar av den japanska invasionen av Malaysia 1941. Undersökningen bygger på en kvalitativ studie av två officerares olika syn på samma händelser.  Fokus ligger vid att belysa ovisshet i deras föreställningar före och under invasionen.Studien resulterade i att ovissheten konkretiserades och indelades i de olika former som observerades under arbetet. Ovissheten visar sig vara ett vitt begrepp med många ursprung och olika påverkan.  Avslutningsvis förs en diskussion rörande hur ovissheten kan hanteras för att om möjligt lindra de negativa effekter som ovissheten annars kan föra med sig. .

This master thesis examines the copyright law with the purpose of sorting out the consequences and the effects of the law impacted on libraries. The theories used are mainly discourse analysis and public domain theory. At the centre of the examination is the effects that copyright law bring to libraries and their ability to perform their work. A major part of this thesis is gathered around the analysis of the presumptive key words that give the structures of copyright law the possibility to claim rightfulness. This is an outspoken strategy to illustrate the discourse of copyright law.

AbstractThe urgency to find alternative fabrics to conventionally produced cotton is increasing as vast amounts of agrochemicals are used and a lot of irrigation is required. In this literature survey the potential of organic cultivation practices to produce highly qualitative hemp fibre, suitable for the textile industry, was investigated. The definition of a fibre in the textile context as well as of the qualities that are essential for a textile fibre was necessary as a base for the discussion in this thesis. The quality parameters looked at were fineness, strength, length, friction, and colour. The impact of external growth factors and plant development on these quality properties are discussed.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att titta närmare på Jeanne d´Arc och hennes fasta genom att studera de rättegångsprotokoll som nedskrevs 1431 och 1455. Jeanne d´Arc beläggs ofta med sjukdomen helig anorexi som medel för sina uppenbarelser. Detta fängslar såväl dagens forskare såväl som hennes tidigare belackare, de klerker som anklagade henne för kätteri under den rättegång hon genomgick innan sin död på bålet. Intresset för frågan dök upp efter att jag studerat Caroline Walker Bynums bok Holy feast and holy fast som behandlar just hur medeltida kvinnor såg på fastan och dess omvärld. Min hypotes är att Jeanne d´Arc inte led av anorexi utan att detta snarare tillhör en hjältemyt och en hagiografisk myt där hon placeras i samma fack som flera andra samtida helgon.

Syften med studien var att:Undersöka hur barnen, som kom från olika religiös och etnisk bakgrund, förhöll sig till existentiella frågor och hur förhållandena mellan barn och vuxna med olika religiös bakgrund fungerade i skolan.Genomföra ett serietecknarprojekt för att ge barnen möjligheter att uttrycka och arbeta med existentiella frågor och till följd av detta hoppades vi att barnen skulle uppleva en ökad känsla av sammanhang och mening. Vi hoppades också att det kunde skapa större förståelse mellan olika religiösa och etniska grupper.Frågorna vi ställde oss var följande:Vilka är de olika uttrycken för religion bland barn i en skola i centrala Accra, Ghana och hur kan de förstås styrka känslan av samband och mening i barnens liv?Hur är den nuvarande situationen när det gäller tolerans och förståelse mellan barn med olika religiös och etnisk bakgrund?Kan ett serieprojekt påverka barnens möjligheter att skapa en känsla av sammanhang och mening i tillvaron och bidra till att öka förståelsen mellan barnen?.

The aim of this thesis was to investigate if the robotized welding method FSW (Friction Stir Welding) could be applied for joining a rotating structure in an aero engine at Volvo Aero Corporation. FSW is expected to introduce less defects than today?s welding methods and could therefore be suitable for critical aero components. The material is the nickel based alloy Inconel 718, however a material experimentation is outside the scope of this report.The main goal of this study is to verify if the ESAB ROSIO robot based FSW-system has a suitable work space to be able to weld the rotating structure, and if the welding tool has accessibility to the joints. The FSW-process needs a rigid fixture, and a number of fix-ture concepts are presented based on a proposed weld sequence.

För att utveckla informationssystem använder företag och organisationer ofta systemutvecklingsmetoder. Att välja en systemutvecklingsmetod kan många gånger vara svårt, då olika systemutvecklingsmetoder lämpar sig för olika sorters projekt.Systemutvecklingsmetoder har bakomliggande filosofi som påverkar hur olika delar av informationssystemsutvecklingen sköts. Exempelvis är testning en viktig del i utvecklandet av informationssystem. Vi har därför i denna studie valt att inrikta oss på hur systemutvecklingsmetoder ser på testning.  Denna studie grundar sig i en litteraturstudie där vi som syfte haft att jämföra systemutvecklingsmetoderna; RUP, DSDM och Scrum i avseende systemutvecklingsmetodernas syn på testning.
