The aim of this Master thesis has been to analyse the debateon Wikileaks as it occured in the Swedish daily press during2010 and early 2011, as well as to identify what differentdiscourses influenced the discussions. The empirical materialconsisted of fifty-three articles, taken from three nationalnewspapers and has been analysed using the discourseanalysis theory of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. Thearticles were analysed in four stages which included:identifying statements concerning Wikileaks and itsoperations; identifying additional groups and individualsappearing in the debate and the statements made about these;grouping statements into themes and on the basis of thesethemes construct chains of equivalence and identify subjectpositions. The last stage consisted of identification ofdiscourses and the relationships and possible conflictsbetween those discourses. The results showed that fourdiscourses could be identified: the good democracydiscourse, the traditional diplomatic discourse, the goodjournalism discourse and the power-critical discourse..

Lagen om förbud mot köp av sexuell tjänst (Brottsbalken 6 kap 11 §) infördes i Sverige 1999. Den är en unik lag internationellt sett, eftersom att den friskriver sexsäljaren från ansvar samtidigt som den straffar sexköparen. Föreliggande studie har mot den bakgrunden ställt upp frågeställningarna: Hur framställs sexköpare i den svenska dagspressen? Hur framställs sexsäljare i den svenska dagspressen? Hur framställs sexköp i den svenska dagspressen?Den tidigare forskning som har framförts består av två studier om medier, en studie om svenska myndigheters kännedom om prostitution, en SOU om detsamma, en studie om framställningar av prostitution i kanadensisk press samt en C-uppsats om framställningar av prostitution i svensk press.Den teoretiska ramen präglas av socialkonstruktivistiska ansatser, med teorier om makt och positioneringar i fokus. Vetenskapsteoretiskt har studien antagit ett socialkonstruktivistiskt förhållningssätt.

The aim of this study was to get a greater comprehension of social welfare secretaries? notion of "good parenting" and furthermore how this is expressed in evaluations of investigations regarding care of children. The empirics in this qualitative study were collected with the help of a vignette containing relevant questions. Moreover interview questions were answered at seven occasions. The interviewees were social welfare secretaries that worked with evaluations of care of children.

Denna studie uppmärksammar engagemang och intressen inom fotbollen under 1910- och 1920-talen. Studien jämför engagemang på lokal nivå genom Varbergs Gymnastik- och Idrottsförening och Varbergs Boll- och Idrottssällskap med riksnivå och kompletterar tidigare forskning. Materialet utgörs av protokoll, tidningsnotiser, jubileumsskrifter samt tidigare forskning. Fotbollen delades i ett organisatoriskt fält och i ett idrottsligt aktivt. Ledarnas engagemang på såväl lokal som nationell nivå har utgjorts av fotbollens administration och i att förankra fotbollen i samhället.

This essay shows how the concept of virtue can deepen our understanding considering processes of empowerment. A virtue is understood as a trait of character, manifested in habitual action, that it is good for person a to have. Virtues are interpreted as socially constructed. Empowerment is presented as a process toward self-confidence and self-determination where recourses and freedom propels the development toward power for the individual, the household and the community. Why does the concept of virtue deepen our understanding? It is argued that our theoretical perceptive of empowerment needs to better encompass values, norms and practise.

Uppsatsens syfte är att granska sexton recensioner publicerade i svensk respektive amerikansk press gällande filmen Den Gröna Cykeln (Haifaa Al-Mansour, 2012). Undersökningen grundar i kritikernas syn på genus och jämställdhet samt kulturell och nationell identitet som filmen berör. Recensionerna analyseras och jämförs för att hitta skillnader och likheter i den svenska respektive amerikanska receptionen. Analysen visar att skillnaden mellan de två nationernas reception är uppdelade mellan de två fokusområdena, där de amerikanska kritikerna fokuserar på kulturell och nationell identitet och jämför filmens skildring av det saudiarabiska samhället med den amerikanska kulturen. De svenska kritikerna tycks generellt ha större fokus på filmens skildring av genus och jämställdhet till skillnad från amerikanerna..

This thesis studies path generation for industrial robots of six degrees of freedom. A path is defined by connection of simple geometrical objects like arcs and straight lines. About each point at which the objects connect, a region, henceforth called a zone, is defined in which deviation from the defined path is permitted. The zone allows the robot to follow the path at a constant speed, but the acceleration needed may vary. Some means of calculating the zone path as to make the acceleration continuous will be presented.

Ätstörningar hör till de allvarligaste psykiska störningarna och orsakar betydande sjukdom för den som drabbas. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva upplevelsen av att leva med en ätstörning. En systematisk litteratursökning genomfördes vilket resulterade i elva studier. Dessa analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest ansats. Analysen resulterade i fem kategorier: att vilja få kontroll i sin tillvaro, att uppfatta verkligheten annorlunda, att sakna samhörighet, att livet bryts ner och att vara styrd av sin sjukdom.

This study intends to use a text analysis and analyze Findus crisis communication, on their website, about the horse meat scandal in February and March 2013. The main focus is to examine if Findus crisis communication can be connected to Beniot?s image repair strategies and the rhetorical appeal forms, in five press releases and four blog posts, and also if they are different depending on the media format. The results show that Findus usually used three of the five image repair strategies and the three appeal forms (ethos, pathos and logos) interacted and therefore became Findus crisis communication consistent in all material. The results also show that Findus had a clear position because they conveyed a consistent message..

The similarity between the Russian and the Indian, in a Cold War context, may be ambiguous considering the ethnic-social variables and the period in time from where the Indians relate. However, by analyzing these, as well as other, characters in the exhibition of movies, we could learn something about the ideology of the time from which the movies derive.This study examines ideology and movies in the Cold War era and concludes that the Indian, for example, may be representing the values of the common public enemy, originating from the Cold War ideology. The movies examined, regardless of influence of distinct Cold War themes or lack of such themes, carry attributes that give evidence of typical Cold War ideology. The fear of communism and common enemies connected to a Cold War context, the thought of America as the land of the free ? with the horizon in the ending of the movies as metaphoric to freedom ? and the moral rhetoric that connects to the American thought of a duty as a global savior, are all signs of the Cold War ideology.Even though the messages are somewhat clearer and more distinct in the movies with Cold War motifs, the fact that ideology is projected through other movies as well should be considered essential for the continuing study of movies as cultural artefacts..

Open access (OA) is a publishing model aimed at increasingthe access to academic research results. The object of thisstudy was to contrast nine colleges and four fundingorganizations in Scandinavia with mandatory OA-policies,and to study how they put OA into practice.Inspired by the Open Access Spectrum (OAS), a tool used toappreciate the OA of academic journals, the aim was tograde the policy documents of the colleges using the OASmodel.The study also compares how the colleges implementtheir OA-policies as well as how, and if, the demands fromthe funding organizations are reflected in the policies of thecolleges.The findings show that the OAS is not a tool designed forgreen OA and that all the information needed for the scale tofunction was not found in the policy documents we studied.A selection of the colleges has some demands in theirpolicies, although most of them allow exceptions to be madefrom the mandatory policy. This is shown to be mainly aquestion of academic freedom, and copyright, or rather thanthe degree to which the scientist and the publisher can cometo an agreement on allowing the information to be accessiblethrough OA.The study proposes that the way to change this may be toincrease the demands on OA in the policies, and that the bestsolution might be in stipulations within the employmentcontracts between the individual colleges and scientist..

How these changes reflect to the identity, reality and truth of society? What political functions are fulfilled when art becomes ?public?? The purpose of this essay is to study how parents of children with disabilities young people make their choice of support and service LSS. The study takes its lead from questions designed to determine which interventions parents use for their children. What parents think about today's choice and if satisfactory, or if they have other wishes. It is also about how parents experience the freedom of choice and participation in the selection of interventions. Furthermore how the parent discuss the topic of choice from childhood and parental perspective.

The following degree project deals with the production of an ICC-profile, this in the form ofproducing ICC-profiles for VTAB Backa. The company previously had their own profile butthey weren?t satisfied, so earlier this year they started using the TU standard profile, but theyalso wanted a complement to this in form of a profile created for solely their printing press.The separation settings used when creating the new profiles were based on information fromTU and their profile. Two basic profiles were created and then edited to obtain a better result.The test printings made with the edited profiles showed that the less adjustments that are made,the better. It was also discovered that the TU standard profile eliminates the highlight toneswhiles the new profiles are somewhat darker.

Uppsatsen handlar om svenska tidningars debatt efter mordet på Fadime Sahindal 2002. Hon sköts till döds av sin kurdiske far som tyckte att hon fläckat familjens heder. Mitt syfte var att ta reda på hur debattörerna såg på den kurdiska kulturens roll i sammanhanget. Jag valde ut åtta debattartiklar som publicerades i Sveriges största morgon- och kvällstidningar den första tiden efter mordet. Artiklarna var skrivna av åtta olika skribenter, fyra män och fyra kvinnor med både svenska och kurdiska bakgrunder, som alla haft nyckelroller i debatten.
