For hundreds of years the scientific journals has been the foremost tool for scholarly communication. Publishing of research results is very important for scientists. Often the research is bound to the university and the research libraries supplies the scientist with all journals needed. The last decades the libraries have seen the costs for subscriptions to journals explode. Commercial publishers often lie behind the mostly unmotivated escalation in price.

The aim of this essay is to find out how students at Malmö University relate to moral responsibility in their private consumption. I am going to test moral theories in order to find out if researchers have a too moral starting point in comparison to everyday use. Through a critical research, free from valuation, I also aim to raise a discussion about moral responsibility which should lead to fair trade in the long run. My essay discusses the subject out of a Swedish city, Malmö - a place where many stores, cafés and restaurant are using moral responsibility as a step in their marketing. The results show that students are interested in morality but their financial conditions are their prior factor..

In Sweden there are 354 000 private individuals owning forest. Of these forest owners there are at least two thirds that are self-employed, which means that about 215 000 forest owners conduct some kind of work in their own forest. Those numbers do not refer to firewood production, but every year 7.3 million piled cubic meters of firewood are used for heating Swedish households. This implies that many households are also producing firewood. The objective of this study was to assess and analyse the small-scale firewood production in the Umeå-region in terms of persons engaged in the work, equipment used, produced volumes and share of forest-owning households involved in these activities. According to results from a questionnaire, the average firewood producing person is a man between 40-60 years old.

På sjukhusens avdelningar för klinisk patologi har man ibland problem med att skilja Klassiskt Hodgkinlymfom från Diffust storcelligt B-cells lymfom. I Klassiskt Hodgkinlymfom finns speciella tumörceller, Reed-Sternbergceller. Problemet är att de kan förväxlas med de stora B-lymfocyter som finns i Diffust storcelligt B-cells lymfom. Syftet med studien var att undersöka om en utökning av befintlig antikroppspanel med antikropparna riktade mot BCL-6, BOB-1, CD 15 och Fascin kan göra det lättare att skilja Klassiskt Hodgkinlymfom från svårklassificerade varianter av Diffust storcelligt B-cells lymfom. I studien användes sparad vävnad från tio kända lymfomfall; fem Klassiska Hodgkinlymfom och fem Diffusa storcelliga B-cells lymfom.

There are no reliable, objective and simple methods today for measuring pain in horses. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and describe measuring of mechanical nociceptive threshold (MNT) values with a pressure algometer in clinically pain free riding horses at the riding school of Strömsholm. In this study there were 24 horses. Tape recording and electromyelografi (EMG) was used in an attempt to increase objectivity in the examination. MNT increased with age, however sex and colour had no influence.

The swedish rule concerning the treatment of employee stock-options have changed and the new wording of the rule will be applicable for the first time in 2010. The previous wording of the rule stated that the employee shall be taxed for the stock-option when moving abroad, even if the option is not exercised. The Swedish Skatteverket and Regeringsrätten have found that this rule is in conflict with the free movement of persons within the European Union. The new wording of the rule states that the employee shall be taxed when the option is excercised, no matter where the employee is situated. Uppsatsen behandlar Bosnien som ett fall av statsbyggande under utländsk intervention. Det är nu 10 år sedan Dayton-avtalet undertecknades, ett avtal som inte bara syftade till att få ett slut på den blodiga konflikten utan även till att bygga upp den nya staten Bosnien-Hercegovina samt dess institutioner. Under det gångna decenniet har vi dock fått bevittna ytterligare två fall inom samma kategori, interventionerna i Afghanistan och Irak. Det kan dock snabbt konstateras att ingen av dessa stater idag kan klassificeras som helt suveräna då internationella aktörers inflytande är ytterst påtagligt på olika sätt. I alla fall i Bosnien verkar den demokratiska utvecklingen ha avstannat och landet står vid ett vägskäl; att närma sig EU med allt vad det innebär av reformer samt demokratisk och ekonomisk utveckling eller bibehålla det nuvarande dödläget vilket kan dra in landet i en destruktiv spiral och återuppväcka konflikten.

Arvika Fastighets AB is a municipal subsidiary tasked with managing all green areas in the municipality, with a strong focus on the City Park and plant beds in the city centre. These areas generate large amounts of green waste, which is currently transported to the municipality's composting area at Lycke. Currently, the material is piled up and turned once a year without using the resulting soil for flowerbeds, lawns, and shrub/tree plantings. The purpose of the study is to determine if Arvika can compost the green waste in a more efficient manner and produce weed-free soil ready to be mixed into various substrates for different purposes. Interviews with the Swedish Church and several municipalities in Sweden have been conducted to learn from their experiences and knowledge of how they make their composting work.
