Heat and power stations are often in need of optimizations. A simulation model is a tool for findingways to optimize the plant. The scope of this diploma work is to develop a simulation model ofBoiler 5 at Mälarenergi AB. Boiler 5 is a circulated fluidized bed boiler that was taken into service inyear 2001. Among the included parts in the boiler are cyclone, convection part andINTREX-chambers.

The aim of this study is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the early process of socialization and its influence on the choices in life, with the example taken from the agricultural family. The question is considering how the process of socialization within an agricultural family has influenced on the choices in life of four women. A qualitative method with a hermeneutic, phenomenologic perspective is applied and four interviews have been done with women who all grew up in an agricultural family. The results have been analysed through social constructive-, psychodynamic-, attachment- and cognitive theory. The results indicate that socialization is a complex process.

The objective of the thesis is primarily to conform and encode a digital signal to be controlled by software. The idea is to transport today?s tracesignal through the IP-network instead of cable-net. In this report I will suggest a possible solution to get a fully passed result with no peculiar time delay. I will also suggest some ideas for a future work with the new tracesystem..

The main purpose of a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) is to facilitate the investigation of incidents. In order to interpret the data that has been recorded in the FDR the data has to be visualized in some way. This can be done with software on a computer or with hardware that is specific for the model of aircraft that the data originates from.The aim of this project is to visualize data for six parameters from the FDR of Saab 2000 in an avionics rig. The avionics rig resembles the cockpit of Saab 2000 and the displays in it are identical to the ones found in the plane. All six parameters are shown on the same display.Due to safety regulation vital systems in aircraft are doubled, with one system on the left side and one on the right.

The purpose of this study is to find out how some Swedish preschool teacher discussing how children's Swedish colloquial interaction can be enhanced in the free play. In this case where children are aged three to five.My research questions in the study are:-          What type of free play do preschool teachers talk about in relation to children's Swedish colloquial development?-          What do preschool teachers say about child's colloquial interaction?-           How do preschool teachers reason regarding in what environment children?s colloquial interaction occurs?In my study I have used an interview with elements of a visual method called The Diamond. The approach is that the participants in the interview will be enhanced to discussing about a wise certain number of images. These images are then to be ranked accordingly with a specific theme and terms.If a child has difficult to speak, you can take help of  the interest the child has, the child can tell you and the other children what he or she know about the interest.

Det åstadkoms genom att införa samma kontroller som är vanliga i actionspel iförsta persons perspektiv, så kallat Free Look Control (FLC). Miljontals spelare kommeratt känna igen och vara bekväma med styrprincipen, vilket borde reducera dengenomsnittliga träningstiden samt förbättra prestationsförmågan. FLC gör det möjligt föroperatören att kontrollera kamerans läge direkt istället för via fordonet den sitter på.Detta görs genom att i mjukvara sammankoppla fordonets och kamerans rörelser.Utöver författandet av denna uppsats byggs en fungerande UGV-prototyp som kanstyras enligt både FLC och dagens standard, Tank Control (TC). Julia Rolandsdotter, Idéer om samhälle och individ: Abortdebatten under 1960- och 1970-tal med inriktning på realpolitik och ideologi, Uppsala Universitet: Institutionen för idé- och lärdomshistoria, C-uppsats, HT 2013.This essay aims to investigate and scrutinize the debate surrounding abortion during the years of 1964 and 1974 respectively. By analyzing elements of different opinions in the debate from daily press, a wide range of aspects concerning the issues of free abortion have been distinguishable. This analysis shows that the abortion debate was, to a high degree, a question of Realpolitik and ideology whereas the differences over time have been visible rather than the differences between parties of varying opinion. By applying the theories of Ian Hacking concerning the effects of categorization, ideas surrounding people and society among others, have been highlighted in the debate. In 1964 we see ideas about the woman as motherly or a victim and the society as defective or exposed among other factors.

The aim of this thesis is to identify some of the obstacles to trade, that occurs on the common market, and to analyse the errors that still occurs in the national authorities application of the principle of mutual recognition. Is the principle of mutual recognition sufficient for the creation of a common market, or is there a need for additional measures to cope with the obstacles to trade that still exists on the common market? The problems related to the incorrect procedures of the national authorities and the fact that undertakings prefer to bring their products in to line with the rules of every single member state must be solved, if the principle of mutual recognition is to become trustworthy. On some areas, harmonisation ought to be chosen above the principle of mutual recognition, but in other cases an increased administrative collaboration, mandatory training for the national authorities or information campaigns intended mainly for undertakings could be the answer. The possibility to help undertakings to sue member states for damages should also be investigated.

This master?s thesis was performed at PartnerTech AB in Åtvidaberg. It addresses the problem of managing test results obtained from testing electronics manufactured by PartnerTech. PartnerTech has developed a test system, called Tor, which performs tests on manufactured boards and stores the test results in files. The Tor system consists of both hardware and software part, where the software runs on an ordinary PC with MS DOS/Windows 2000.

Many workplaces around the world use some kind of presentation software as an aid during presentations. At Westinghouse Fuel Service in Västerås they experienced that they didn´t know how to use this medium to its fullest extent. They wanted to increase awareness of presentation skills with PowerPoint among the employees, to improve their internal and external communication. A desire they are certainly not alone to have in the working life.My research studied how to design guidelines for the use of presentation software, so the users can easily absorb the message and find motivation to use the guidelines. In order to adapt the guidelines to their users, and thus create major opportunities for them to absorb the message, I based my study on the concepts legibility, readability and reading value.

This essay aims to emphasize and clarify the positions that exist within the current globalization debate. The positions are the neo-liberal, the opponents, the pragmatists and the skeptics. The text presents and explains their ideological, moral and political positions and beliefs about the world, the nation state, the society and the individual; in light of Steven Lukes? and Antonio Gramsci's theories regarding the interaction and the relationship between power and hegemony. The methodological starting point is the ideology-critical analysis; in which their arguments in the current globalization debate is highlighted and categorized.

Prioritisation of software requirements is a critical part of the development of software. Whichrequirements and in which order they will be developed is one of the main tasks that requirementprioritisation supports.There are different ways that a requirement prioritisation can be used, for example alone or in agroup and with different methods.The purpose of this report is to map out how you can carry out a requirement prioritisation alonewith different types of prioritisation methods and how you solve the problems that can arise whenprioritisting requirements. This is done by documenting the use of three different types of methodsthat can be execute alone. The methods are "100-dollar test", "Ranking" and "Top-tenrequirements".To be able to prioritise requirements, you need to establish which requirements you shall prioritise.The paper retrieves this information by interviewing stakeholders in the system and analysing theresult of the interviews and the execution of the requirement prioritisation.Three problems arose during that work and I present solutions on these problems. Title: The development of Free BassIn this work I will explain how the accordion with free bass was developed in Sweden. I will also describe how the people, teachers and musicians, did respond when it was introduced. In this study I investigate Swedish freebass teachers' reflections upon their educational issues. I want to look deeper at how they are reflecting over these two systems, and how they are using them in their daily work. By reading some accordion magazines from the era as a method, I did researching and then I analyzed the articles written about the subject.

Leisure boats of today have a lot of electronics that needs battery power to work. In additionto that electric propulsion systems have gotten more popular lately, which further increasesthe demand for high battery capacity. The batteries used are mostly lead-acid batteries and toget the most out of the batteries it is important to treat them right. To optimize the electricsystem it is important to have knowledge of how the batteries and the electric motor are usedand which factors affect e.g. efficiency and recharging.A new electric drive that can replace old diesel engines is being developed and needs testingand evaluation.

The aim of this study is to elucidate the process in which psychology was separated from philosophy and established itself as a distinct academic discipline in Sweden. I argue that the concept of will, as well as the concepts of thinking and emotion, have a lot to tell us about the rise of academic psychology in Sweden. This is done through an analysis of psychology textbooks, encyclopaedia-articles and academic texts on the themes will and psychology, from around 1800 till 1950.Prior to the establishment of the first chair of psychology in Uppsala 1948, the discipline was above all a part of the philosophical discipline. For psychology to become a science of its own, it was crucial to obtain a position among the empirical sciences. It thus had to distance itself from philosophy, and in particular from metaphysics.
