Abstract______________________________________________________________________Title:A study about creating understanding for different kinds of empowermentLevel:Bachelors thesis in Business Administration, 15 creditsAuthor:Fredrik LegovicSupervisor:Tomas KällquistDate:2014 - JuneAim:The main purpose of this study is to increase the understanding for different kinds of empowerment and how it affects the staff in the public sector.Method:The choice of method was based on the research aim. The method used to meet the objective was qualitative. The qualitative study was conducted with a hermeneutic basis, where individuals were asked to describe their experience of empowerment and how they feel affected of it. This thesis has a deductive approach, where existing theories dealing empowerment formed the basis for the design of interview substrate, which is then paired with the empirical evidence, based on this the conclusions was drawn.Result & Conclusion:What separates the different kinds of empowerment and how it affect the staff depends most of all on how the management chooses to communicate and share information with their staff.Suggestions for future research:A study regarding managers that works with different kinds of empowerment, and how that affects them, could be regarded as an interesting future research.Contribution of thesis:It shows that different kinds of empowerment affect the staff in different ways, which I made clear to the readers.Keywords:empowerment, thinking skills, relations and organizational - structure and theory.
Ska basen alltid driva?: en undersökning av frågan om basister alltid ska ligga före taktslaget i rock och blues
Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka påståendet att ?basisten ska driva? i ett rock-/bluessammanhang, ett påstående de flesta basister inom genren nog har hört någon gång. I undersökningen spelade jag in en blues-shuffle i fem olika versioner med inspelningsprogrammet Cubase. I de olika versionerna varierades timing och betoningar i basen: i övrigt var de identiska. Inspelningarna användes i ett lyssningstest med en jury på sex personer, två professionella basister, två professionella musiker och två ickeprofessionella musiker.
Svenska Mongolmissionen: en studie av missionsverksamheten i Mongoliet 1897 - 1925
Uppsatsen är en studie av svenska Mongolmissionens pionjärverksamhet i Mongoliet och belyser de religiösa värderingar och mål som låg till grund för denna missionsverksamhet. I studien presenteras en kortare historisk tillbakblick och en karaktärsbeskrivning av den man som var upphovet till att Svenska Mongolmissionen bildades - evangelisten Fredrik Franson. Uppsatsens empiridel behandlar den arbetsarena som var missionärernas vardag och belyser deras arbetsvillkor, missions- och sjukvårdsverksamhet, samt de turbulenta politiska förhållandena i Mongoliet vid denna tid. Uppsatsen lyfter fram en kvinnlig aktör, missionären och Röda Kors-systern Greta Nilsson, som genom sin dagbok är en primärkälla i uppsatsen. Frans August Larson, "Hertigen av Mongoliet", är också en viktig aktör som presenteras.

Ärade Statsminister 2,0 : Breven till statsministern om den ekonomiska politiken
Vilka ekonomiska frågor ligger närmast de svenska brevskrivarnas hjärtan? Två svenska professorer, Becker och Jonung undersökte detta 1998. Denna studie undersöker i ett världsunikt data set innehållande 536 brev adresserade till statsminister Fredrik Reinfeldt under hans mandatperiod 2006-2014. Genom undersökningen ges en övergripande bild av brevskrivarnas mest centrala frågor rörande ekonomi. Utgångspunkten ligger i att undersöka skillnader i fördelningen av brev mellan denna och tidigare studie.

Långsiktigt hållbar dagvattenhantering : vägledning vid val av dagvattenlösningar i stadsmiljö
Det förekommer en ökad problematik i vårt samhälle när det gäller dagvattenhantering. Problemet beror till stor del på förtätningen av städer och trafikökningen. De hårdgjorda markytorna har ökat markant det senaste halvseklet (Stahre, P., 2004) och i den förändring av klimatet som successivt sker förändras vattenflöden avsevärt (SMHI, 2009). Avloppssystemen är ofta underdimensionerade för de häftiga regn som blir allt vanligare och risken för översvämningar har ökat kraftigt (Boverket, 2010b).
Vatten är ett viktigt element i vår omgivning som väcker intresse, estetiskt behag och framkallar känsloreaktioner (Ulrich, R.S., 1983), både positiva och negativa. Dagvattnet kan ses som en tillgång och resurs för att göra städer mer attraktiva.

En funktionsanalys av IKEA Uppsalas interna kommunikation)Author: Fredrik JohanssonAim: The purpose of this study is to analyze the internal communication at IKEA Uppsala.Are the channels of communication working efficiently? How is the information received by the employees? Finally I will make a few suggestions on how the internal communication can be improved.Method/Material: The method used in this study is quantitative. The internal communication at IKEA Uppsala is analyzed based on the results of a questionnaire. 75 employees at three different divisions were given questions on how they appreciate the communication channels at IKEA in Uppsala. 50 answers were received.Main results: The results clearly show that even though the internal communication at IKEA seems to work well in general, a few of the channel needs to be improved.

SLUTSATS: Vår slutsats är att vinstdelningssystemet Oktogonen har en positiv
inverkan på motivationen på Handelsbankens kontor i Ronneby. Detta system är
enskilt den största motivationsfaktorn men sammanslaget så finns det ett antal
andra förmåner som placerar sig högre upp i rangordningen än Oktogonen.
