I och med de ökade hoten från klimatförändringar har fler städer börjat arbeta med att minska sin påverkan på klimatet. Ett exempel på det är attsträva efter koldioxidneutralitet. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka vad som städer framställer som problem i arbetet med att uppnåkoldioxidneutralitet. Utifrån Framing och Bacchis (1999) analysverktyg om problemframställningar samt tidigare forskning om städersklimatarbete, har de tre städerna Linköping, Köpenhamn och Melbourne undersökts. Dokument om städernas arbete med koldioxidneutralitet haranalyserats genom kvalitativ textanalys.

The objective of this thesis is to analyse how masculinity in close relationships is represented through imagery and writing in Världens viktigaste bok and Pojkkön, which are instructive books about sexuality and relationships written for primary school teachers and students. This thesis is based upon theories regarding masculinity and family, and the theorists used are Connell (1996), Prusank (2007), Greif (2009) and Bergnéhr (2008). The methods used are Framing and picture analysis to investigate how masculinity in close relationships is represented implicitly and explicitly. The results of this study show that masculinity in close relationships is represented by a man who provides, has an active lifestyle, is outgoing and displays a limited emotional capacity..

The purpose of this study was to study how metaphors are used in sports chronicles . As a complement, we also chose to study whether there are gender differences in the use of metaphors. We also wanted to take a look at whether journalists tend to mythologize sports stars with the help of metaphors. We have been using a qualitative study in our work. We chose to examine four sports journalists who writes sports chronicles for the newspaper Aftonbladet.

 I den här uppsatsen undersöks hur mycket och på vilket sätt Sverigedemokraterna nämns och uttalar sig i TV4Nyheterna före och efter att de valdes in i riksdagen 2010. En kvantitativ och en kvalitativ ansats har kombinerats för att undersöka två tremåndersperioder, en under 2008 och en under 2012. Vidare studeras Framingen av nyheter, vem står för Framingen och vem som sätter agendan, journalister eller politiker. Även inramningen av Sverigedemokraterna studeras. Teoretiskt ligger modellen för agenda-setting till grund för stora delar av resonemanget. Även teorier kring nyhetsvärdering, journalistikens beskrivningsmakt, Framing och TV:s genomslagskraft bygger upp den teoretiska ramen. I den kvantitativa delen tillämpas en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av samtliga inslag som berör immigration och integration i Rapport, Aktuellt och TV4Nyheterna under de tidigare nämnda tidsperioderna.

English title: Julia and the elite. A study of how the Internet hatred developed into a media avalanche.Introduction: During February 2013 Swedish media flooded with news of online hate directed towards women after an episode of Uppdrag Granskning on SVT (2013). Female media profiles were given the opportunity to tell the entire Swedish population about the hate and threats they had been exposed to online. In this thesis we want to investigate what topics end up on the media´s agenda, how a piece of news is developed and framed.Questions: How does a piece of news considered highly newsworthy develop from when it first appears in the media until it gradually disappears? How and why did Internet hatred end up on the media´s agenda? How does the media framed the Internet hatred?Theory: To be able to answer the questions formulated in this thesis, the following theories have been used: Agenda-Setting theory, Framing theory, news valuation and media logic. Method: Quantitative content analysis of news broadcasts and debate shows from TV, radio and newspapers.

A controversial party?s entry into parliament - a review of Expressen?s depiction of the Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna)The purpose of this essay was to study how Expressen presents the Sweden Democrats, as well as reasoning about the effects this depiction could have on the citizens? opinion. Using a quantitative method I studied 122 articles, and through a qualitative method four of these could be further analyzed to reach a deeper result. The theoretical perspective that was applied in this study was primary agenda-setting and Framing theory, to illuminate the power of media. The result showed that a prominent theme was to present Sweden Democrats as racists.

I denna studie har vi valt att behandla två frågeställningar som genomsyrar hela vårstudie. Syftet med denna studie är att se hur pedagogerna ute i förskola och skolareder ut konflikter mellan barn och om de går efter någon specifikkonflikthanteringsmodell. Vi har valt att använda oss av intervjuer med hjälp avbandinspelning. Vi har tagit fram de viktigaste punkterna i dekonflikthanteringsmodeller som vi beskriver i vår studie samt pedagogernasviktigaste roll i en konflikt. Resultatet bevisar att många pedagoger inte följer enspecifik konflikthanteringsmodell utan handlar efter sunt förnuft.

I Chile har åtskilliga protester uppkommit under de senaste decennierna, i hopp om att återställa den jämlika samhällsstrukturen som förelåg i landet innan diktaturens uppkomst år 1973. Under det senaste årtiondet har utbildning blivit ett föremål för intresse som år 2011 ledde till att den studentdrivna rörelsens demonstrationer blev de största i landet. Syftet för den här uppsatsen var att studera faktorer som under historiens gång har lett till studentrörelsens uppkomst. McAdams teori om politiska möjlighetsstrukturer tillämpades vilken bidrog till att den första frågeställningen om hur rörelsen ledde till framgång samma år kunde besvaras. Syftet var även att med Benford och Snows teori om Framing besvara hur rörelsen ramar in mål och krav för att kunna ge svar på den andra frågeställningen om hur aktivisterna ramade in kraven samma år.

Abstract: According to previous research, it is not unusual for online poker players to create profiles which indicate they are members of the opposite sex. This phenomenon, known as 'Gender Swapping', is partly being utilized in a strategic fashion. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate whether or not the gender of an opponent has an impact on decision-making in an online poker environment. An experiment was constructed where subjects made 15 poker-related decisions against seven randomly generated opponents, consisting of three male, three female and one genderless opponent. The results indicate no significant differences in decisions against male and female opponents.

Malmö har under de senaste åren varit hårt bevakat av media, detta på grund av olika händelser som betraktats som gänguppgörelser, skjutningar, mord och vapenbrott. Detta har väckt opinion, från medborgare och medier där det diskuterats flitigt hur problematiken ska lösas. Sydsvenskan, som är den största dagstidningen i Malmö, har varit en informationskälla för sina medborgare under denna mediedefinierade kris. Jag har undersökt hur publiken i allmänhet har känt och resonerat kring denna rapportering, begränsad under tidsperioden december 2011 och januari 2012. Under dessa två månader har jag kategoriserat det nyhetsmaterial som Sydsvenskan publicerat på deras nätbaserade upplaga under rubriken ?Malmö? under nämnd period.

Despite the vast research on the effects of gaming, little is know how the phenomenon of e-sports and it?s followers is portrayed. While media can have significant impact on what and how e-sport is portrayed, no studies have been done in a Swedish context. This thesis aims at filling that gap with investigations of the two major Swedish newspapers. Six articles was analyzed with critical discourse analysis with a theoretical base of journalism.The result of which indicated that between the period of 2005 and 2012 e-sport and players was considered to be professional, committed and more in a sense that reminded much of the view on more traditional sport such as soccer and hockey.

I have examined the conditions for participation in an opera masquerade. Theoretical support has been found in Michail Bachtin, Richard Schechner and Judith Butler. The main study object has been a masquerade organised by the workers of The Royal Opera of Stockholm in 1925. The masquerade is examined as a social practise with distinct aesthetic Framing. The analysis shows that the opera masquerade share some characteristics with the medieval carnival culture as described by Bachtin, but differ in many ways as well.

With a base in Ian Manners? theory about Normative Power Europe ? that the European Union is to be seen as a normative power instead of a civilian or military ? this paper seeks to contribute to the discussion about identity by examine the normative elements of the union?s policies towards Russia between 1997 and 2013. Which norms are most important and how does the diffusion look? The findings show that democracy, rule of law and respect of human rights are among the most diffused norms, and this is more than often done by using the Russian interest in economic progress. Over time the European Union has taken on a more critical approach against Russia, while still appreciating their prosperous relation when it comes to trade and energy.

The purpose of this essay was to investigate which factors the individuals found important in the process of becoming a person with a drug-free life. The Framing of the questions we had were to get the experiences, thoughts and wishes of the drug users. The survey was based on thematised qualitative interviews and focused in the personal stories of the interviewees. We interviewed four women and five men, all of which had several years of drug-abuse behind them. We found similarities and patterns and we could identify that the three most important things was the own motivation, will and that the drug-abuser had the possibility to change their social network and had the ability to find other important things in life..

This thesis examines how and to what extent securitisation has occurred in the Arctic Council, and how these expressions have changed in a more geopolitically tense context after the Russian invasion of Ukraine 2022. Drawing on securitisation theory, the study analyses ministerial declarations from Arctic Council meetings in 2021 and 2025, complemented by two informant interviews with diplomats working in Arctic affairs. The findings show that securitisation has increased after 2022 but mainly within non-traditional security sectors. Environmental security is the most consistently securitised issue, especially through the Framing of climate change as an urgent and wide-ranging threat. Political security has become more prominent, as the Arctic Council itself is increasingly portrayed as a reference object whose function and legitimacy must be protected.
