The majority of the interest for Marie-Jean-Antoine-Nicolas de Caritat, Marquis de Condorcet (1743-1794), has been focused on his work in mathematics and political science, especially on his famous method on voting tally. With a background in the French enlightenment, on the brink of the revolution, this essay focuses on his political and philosophical ideas, specially his thoughts on the role of education in humanity?s struggle toward greater freedom. Is it possible to identify a connection between the concepts of education and freedom in his writings? This question is largely unanswered, even though it is fundamental for the understanding of the underlying reasoning of Condorcet.

The purpose of this essay was to study how school welfare officers cooperate with other school staff, regarding children in vulnerable positions, and how the school staff apply their obligation to report to the social services if they have concerns regarding children at risk, according to the law of social service, SoL.We have especially focused on questions concerning cooperation, both between the school staff, and between the school and the social services. We also wanted to identify some of the restraining factors and dilemmas that could come up during the process of reporting children at risk to the social services. The study was based on qualitative interviews with ten school welfare officers from the same municipality.Our conclusions of our study are that there exists a well-developed cooperation between several organizational levels, including the school welfare officers, other professions in the schools and the social services. There were though opinions among the school welfare officers that they wanted to increase their professional claims in relation to the school nurse, due to their larger competence in talking to children. Regarding the formal responsibility to report to the social services, a majority of the school welfare officers felt they had access to the support they needed from both their principal and the students healthcare-team, and that they were not left alone in the process..

Under de senaste åren har intresset för användningen av laborativt material ökat markant. Syftet med denna studie är att ta fram och göra en jämförelse mellan lärare och elevers uppfattningar och åsikter angående användningen av laborativt material i matematikundervisningen. Studien har genomförts på fyra lärare i Örebro samt deras klasser i årskurs 5. Resultatet visar att laborativt material underlättar lärandet, gör matematiken roligare och mer intressant, för många enligt både lärare och elever. Lärarnas och elevernas uppfattning om hur ofta laborativt material plockas fram och då finns tillgängligt skiljer sig åt.

The debate is still under ?construction?, which means that the debate has not yet come up with a solution to the problems of discrimination.

This essay deals with children?s and adolescents? use of interactive media as a tool for doing relations with each other. The purpose is to increase the understanding of the impact interactive media has on pupils? relations and identity development both in school and on their spare time. The school system?s mission is not only to teach formal knowledge and facts but also to train children?s social skills and abilities.

Informationsteknologi spelar allt större roll i dagens moderna samhälle. Sjukvården är en verksamhet där införandet av nya IT-system kan förväntas leda till stora positiva effekter. Till exempel skulle ett system för tidsbokning on-line för läkarbesök möjliggöra för människor att enkelt och snabbt boka den tid som passar hos familjeläkare eller specialist. Samtidigt skulle den avlasta läkarsekreterare och frigöra arbetstid som skulle kunna användas till något annat. Men vårdpersonal kan uppleva IT som ett hot.

We derive the equation linking the Weyl tensor with its Lanczos potential, called the Weyl-Lanczos equation, in 1+3 covariant formalism for perfect fluid Bianchi type I spacetime and find an explicit expression for a Lanczos potential of the Weyl tensor in these spacetimes. To achieve this, we first need to derive the covariant decomposition of the Lanczos potential in this formalism. We also study an example by Novello and Velloso and derive their Lanczos potential in shear-free, irrotational perfect fluid spacetimes from a particular ansatz in 1+3 covariant formalism. The existence of the Lanczos potential is in some ways analogous to the vector potential in electromagnetic theory. Therefore, we also derive the electromagnetic potential equation in 1+3 covariant formalism for a general spacetime.

Fältsäljare har alltid kännetecknats av att ha ett mobilt arbetssätt där kundkontakt tillhör vardagen och god planering är vitalt. HILTI är ett verktygstillverkande företag som nyligen infört ett mobilt IS-stöd i förhoppning om att underlätta med bland annat planering för fältsäljarna. En explorativ undersökning av företaget har genomförts för att få en uppfattning, utifrån fältsäljarens perspektiv, hurvida denna upplever att yrkesrollen förändrats vid införandet av ett mobilt informationssystem. Insamling av data har utförts med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer för att få en tydlig bild av de förändringar som försäljaren upplever anmärkningsbara. Resultatet visar att systemet bidragit till direkta förändringar i försäljarens yrkesroll.

När vi har varit ute i olika skolor har vi sett tydliga spår hos elever att deras intresse för matematik minskar ju högre upp i åldrarna eleverna kommer. Vi har även observerat många olika typer av lärare och undervisningsstilar. Syftet med arbetet är därför att titta närmare på hur intresset ser ut i två klasser i årskurs sex på två olika skolor samt titta på vilka faktorer som påverkar intresset hos eleverna. För att ta reda på detta har vi utfört enkätundersökningar i de olika klasserna. Utifrån svaren från enkäterna valde vi ut fyra elever i varje klass för intervjuer, hälften som enligt enkäterna tyckte om matematikämnet och hälften som inte tyckte om det.

Scrum är ett agilt ramverk för projekthantering, tänkt att effektivisera systemutvecklingsarbete och maximera affärsnyttan, bland annat genom användadet av roller, så som en icke detaljstyrande projektledare (ScrumMaster), en engagerad produktägare (Product Owner), och en självständig systemutvecklargrupp med ett brett spektrum av färdigheter (Scrum Team). I följande uppsats ämnar vi att undersöka hur ett Scrum Team och deras arbete blir påverkade av att vara delaktiga i en Scrumimplementering. För att åstadkomma detta har vi genomfört en fallstudie med kvalitativa intervjuer, direktobservationer i arbetsmiljö samt insamlande av dokument. Förutom dessa källor har vi genomfört en expertintervju med en av grundarna bakom Scrum, Jeff Sutherland. Våra fynd tyder på att förändringarna inkluderar en rad faktorer, så som samarbete, transparens och kommunikation, men framför allt en ökning i självbestämmande och självständighet, samt en ökning av kollektivt ansvarstagande.

Open source software has recently been discussed, not least in media as a revolution in IT. A number of advantages have been listed in changing proprietary software into open source software. Examples of such pros are no expenses for license fees and improved efficiency. In spite of this, few users have made this change. One of the reasons is a distrust of the quality in open source software.

Syftet med min studie har varit att undersöka om fritidshemmet kan utgöra en matematisk lärandemiljö. Jag har studerat vilka aktiviteter som kan eller skulle kunna bidra till att barn utvecklar grundläggande matematiska kunskaper. Dessutom har jag försökt identifiera hinder för fritidshemmet som matematisk lärandemiljö. För att undersöka detta har jag använt mig av deltagande observation som metod samt intervjuer. Datamaterialet har samlats in på två fritidshem i två olika kommuner.

Uppsatsen är ett resultat av en explorativ studie som tar sin utgångspunkt i att informationssystem i hög grad är situationsberoende, komplexa och abstrakta. Om en investering i ett IS ska bli framgångsrik krävs att hänsyn tas till fler faktorer än de som vanligtvis inkluderas i befintliga problemperspektiv. En sådan är beställarkompetens. Det saknas dock konceptualiseringar av begreppet vilket begränsar dess användningsområde, ur såväl ett vetenskapligt som ett praktiskt perspektiv. Uppsatsens centrala frågeställning är: Vilka kompetenser bör ingå i en beställarorganisation, både generellt för beställarprocessen i sin helhet men även specifikt för ingående faser? En litteraturstudie resulterar i en teorisyntes som främst vilar på beställningsprocessens faser och begreppet funktionell kompetens.

Food insecurity is a great problem worldwide and Ethiopia is one of the sub-saharan countries that are suffering from poverty and food insecurity and a large part of the population are living in a state of undernourishment. To reduce these problems, a successful horticulture production can be an important factor. Compared to other crops, fruit production in Ethiopia has not been a large part of the agricultural sector. However, the demand on the domestic market is increasing as well as the production for avocado and mango. To increase food security it is important to focus on ways to decrease post-harvest losses of food products and not only have the productivity of agriculture in focus.
