PAPRO operates within the Forest Research company and their mission is to develop value-addingindustry solutions. At present there are no good ways for mills to easily test the printing quality on newsprintpaper. There is a great need for a fast way to do this on different paper qualities; with a laboratory-offset press this can be both a time and money saving method. At PAPRO Forest Research, NewZealand, a laboratory offset press has been developed and designed, during the past seven years, concerningthis issue. SammanfattningSyftet med vår undersökning var att förklara det svenska helägda kommunala aktiebolagets funktionella inriktning. Helägda kommunala aktiebolag präglas av sin särart, de verkar under vissa regler och lagar som inte tillämpas på privata aktiebolag och har en politisk ägare, denna särart förväntade vi oss skulle påverka dess styrelses funktionella inriktning. Den största delen av tidigare studier angående styrelsens funktionella inriktning är utförda i den privata sektorn, vilket har inneburit att vi har utvecklat befintliga teorier med hänsyn till det helägda kommunala aktiebolagets särart. För att uppnå målet med vår undersökning valde vi att använda ett positivistiskt synsätt med en deduktiv ansats. För att undersöka styrelsens funktionella inriktning har vi baserat undersökningen på institutionell-, agent-, stewardship- och public choice teori.

Detta examensarbete är utfört på uppdrag av skogsägarföreningen Norra Skogsägarna (Norra) för att undersöka om innehavet av en uppdaterad skogsbruksplan har något samband med hur stor andel av den produktiva skogsarealen där avverkning och skogsvård årligen sker hos enskilda skogsägare i norra Sverige. Analyserna baserades på enkätsvar, data från skogbruksplaner, uppgifter om utförda avverkningar enligt Norra skogsägarnas verksamhetssystem NOVA, samt offentlig statistik från Skogsstyrelsen och data från Riksskogstaxeringen. Examensarbetet söker besvara sju frågeställningar, tre handlar om den skogliga aktiviteten på privata enskilda fastigheter. och fyra syftar till att analysera Norras skogsbruksplaner med avseende på hur väl de följs och hur virkesförrådet förväntas utvecklas. Data analyserades med hjälp av olika t-test där insamlade data jämfördes med data från Skogsstyrelsens offentliga statistik och data från riksskogstaxeringen. Resultaten visar att skogsägare som investerat i en skogsbruksplan (SBP) utför avverkning/skogsvårdsåtgärder på större andel av sin produktiva areal än de som saknar plan. Den åtgärdade andelen ökar från perioden före till perioden efter att skogsbruksplanen tas emot.

In this Master thesis an effective method is presented to find out what is requested in a forest or outdoor recreation. The aim with the study is to find out how Sveaskog can increase the general interest for experiences in nature and improve the access for recreation. Some questions that have been used to answer this purpose are: Who is visiting/not visiting the recreation area? How is it possible to increase the number of visits? The study is carried out in Kilsbergen and mainly centered around Ånnaboda, which is the natural place for people to meet at and undertake recreational activities. The method that is used is a mail-survey that was sent to visitors and people living in Örebro. People living in Örebro represent potential visitors who live close to the recreation area.

Abstract In this report I describe the Health Care Advice Bureau?s (sjukvårdsrådgivningen) historical background, proposals for its development according to a committee from the Blekinge County Council (Landstinget Blekinge), the Health Care Advice Bureau?s cooperation with different external operators e.g. the SOS and the Care Centers [Vårdcentraler]. I account for how I, in the same county council, aided by ethnographical methods observed or investigated the following: The nurses? interaction with the patients, the nurses? interaction among themselves, the nurses? participation in the development of the system and also the computer based system?s technical qualifications.

The fungus Gremmeniella abietina causes damage to conifers that can lead to tree death. In 1999 and 2001 the pathogen caused severe attacks in Sweden, where about 500 000 ha of pine forest were affected. Trees of all ages were attacked, but mainly forests between 30-60 years that were ready for their first commercial thinning. After recommendations from the forest agency, sanitary fellings were made to trees that had more needle loss than 85%, a total of about 50 000 ha. Economic losses have been estimated to more than one billion SEK.

This qualitative study examines how emergency people are framed in Swedish evening-, and local newspapers during the forest fire in Va?stmanland, Sweden 2014. The study also includes if there is any difference between the framing due to the location of the newspaper. The study is based on qualitative text analysis. The theoretical basis is representation, framing theory, media image, media logic and a few conceptions from crisis communication theory.

Service-Dominant logic (S-D logic) beskriver hur ett paradigmskifte sker där kunden betraktas som värdefullt humankapital och företag vinner konkurrensfördelar genom långsiktiga relationer, värdeskapande tillsammans med kund och utbyte av kunskap genom interaktivt processarbete. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka på vilka sätt företaget Komatsu Forest kan vinna konkurrensfördelar genom att implementera S-D logic. De strategier vi testar är front-line employee (FLE) ? personal med kundkontakt, butikslandskapet, varumärket och den interna kommunikationen.Studien baseras på kvantitativa studier med en kompletterande kvalitativ studie.

In Scandinavia, capercaillie are often associated with pine trees (Pinus sylvestris) in winter, with pine needles as the main diet. Few dietary studies have been conducted in Sweden and winter diet is subject to little debate. The interesting thing is that this "pine specialist? is also found in spruce (Picea abies) forest habitats where pine is scarce or unavailable. In many studies outside Sweden (primarily Central Europe) spruce is regularly observed in the winter diet, but I have found no reports on the selection of the diet in spruce forest areas in Sweden.

Wildlife is a valuable and renewable resource that promotes economical, ecological and social values. These values are important for developing and maintaining many rural societies. However, growing ungulate populations have led to increased browsing pressure on valuable forest trees and crops. Previous studies have proposed supplementary feeding and gamefields as potential methods for controlling the ungulate foraging and reducing browsing damage by providing other attractive food resources. However, quantitative estimates of potential biomass production of various gamefield crops and browsing pressure on the surrounding forest have been lacking.

The only differences from year 2000 and now is that in 14 yearsthe parties has lost 65000 members, between 1991-1999 it was about 220000members. Something has changed.

Due to poorly functioning local and regional markets, the smallholders in San Francisco, Petén, were dependent on intermediaries that took advantage of the smallholder?s distance to markets. In an attempt to secure income and strengthen their bargaining position, 189 smallholders joined forces through the creation of a social smallholder network, held together by a community based enterprise. This enterprise was initiated in 2011 with the help of government incentive programmes and NGOs that within a few years will leave the enterprise to auto regime. This study treats the sustainability of a community forest based enterprise, Chachaklum, in northern Guatemala. The study identifies factors that enable smallholders to organize themselves in order to obtain business practices that support an improved standard of living.

Multilayered woodland types are an important part of the urban forest. The knowledge how to establish and maintain such plantations are not as deep as other knowledge fields concerning forestry. Therefore this study has looked upon how to achieve multilayered structures in young nature-like woodland plantations. As a theoretical base for the study three different major knowledge culture have been studied that concerns the subject, ecology, forestry and landscape management/design. This three theoretical framework concludes that many natural processes strive in the opposite direction of multilayered structures in their youth.

Södra in Oskarström has the ambition to become the best client for silviculture contractors and another aim is that the contractors should feel a strong sense of community with Södra. Several factors play an important role in order for these ambitions to be realized. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the contractors feel about their business relationship with Södra. The study was conducted during the spring of 2015 through a questionnaire which was sent to all ten silviculture contractors working with Södra in Oskarström. Overall, it seemed like the contractors were satisfied with the collaboration.

The purpose of this paper is to examine whether there is a difference between the respondent groups preparers and non-preparers position in IASBs question if a reversal of previously impaired goodwill should be prohibited. The background is an exposure draft sent out by the IASB and we examine the answers, in form of comment letters, sent in by the respondents to reach our purpose. Our method is positivistic in the sense that we study already existing theories when we create our hypothesis which gives our assumption about how the result of the respondent?s answers will be. Our data, which we have collected from the comment letters, is qualitative secondary data.
