Lantbrukskooperativens verksamhetsstyrning : Ledningens användande av verksamhetsstyrning i Arla Foods, Milko och Gefleortens mejerier
Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva och jämföra hur ledningen i tre lantbrukskooperativ använder sig av verksamhetsstyrning, samt att analysera lantbrukskooperativens användande av verksamhetsstyrning utifrån modern verksamhetsstyrningsteori. Fallstudier har gjorts och datainsamlingen har skett genom intervjuer. En avgränsning har gjorts till att enbart behandla tre mejerier med olika storlek. Mejerier har valts eftersom mejeriernas standardiserade råvara underlättar en jämförelse företagen emellan. Undersökningsobjekten är Gefleortens, Milko och Arla Foods.

The thesis aims to create a common methodology forrisk analysis with the handling of chemicals.The theories displayed in this thesis focuses on different risk managementmethods in order to build up a framework out of which a risk management toolwas created. The main primary data source consists of interviews held withemployees within Arla Foods at different facilities.The risk management tool can be found in appendix K.Available recommendations for how to evaluate risks with chemicals can befound at appropriate government agencies. These recommendations aredrawn up to suite small and medium enterprises and therefore are to narrowto make a good foundation for analysing chemical risks at large companies.With the legislation and government demands in mind, a tool has beencreated to fit a large company?s needs when managing chemical risks.

Mot ett effektivare materialflöde - En fallstudie vid Arla Foods i Linköping
Detta examensarbete är utfört vid Linköpings Tekniska Högskola och Arla Foods i Linköping under vårterminen 2009.Arla Foods i Linköping invigdes år 1978 och går under benämningen specialproduktsmejeri. Ett specialproduktsmejeri arbetar i huvudsak med att förädla basprodukter genom att t.ex. smaksätta creme fraiche, yoghurt och mjölk.Detta arbete inleddes med en omfattande datainsamling och intervjuer med anställda på mejeriet vilket bidrog till att skapa en bild av nuläget på mejeriet som i rapporten kunde beskrivas och analyseras. Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka om dagens sätt att styra materialflödet av emballage kunde förbättras samt att undersöka vilka möjligheter en ny lagerlokal skulle ge. Analysen visade att det fanns rum för förbättring vad gällde bl.a.
Functional Foods-når hälsobudskapet ut?
Vårt syfte med denna uppsats är att ge en ökad förståelse för hur hälsobudskapet kankommuniceras på förpackningar och i marknadsföring för att underlätta att budskapet når ut till konsumenterna. Vi har använt oss av en deduktiv ansats för att ta fram antagande om hur functional Foodsföretag effektivt ska kommunicera sitt hälsobudskap. Dessa antaganden har vi sedantestat med kvalitativa empiriska undersökningar. Våra intervjuer presenteras i ett empirikapitel som sedan analyseras. I teoriavsnittet har vi använt oss av flera modeller och teorier varav två varit av stor vikt.

The large-scale soy cultivation has negative consequences for the habitat of local populations because of the intensive use of pesticides and the destruction of rain forests and eco-systems. GM soya, varieties are often used. The majority of Swedish people, however, do not want GM products in their food. It will be hard in future to ensure GM free food, particularly Foods that come from countries where GM crops are grown on a large scale. It is very difficult to avoid cross- contamination when both GM and non-GM crops are grown in the same area.

Dietary intake of zinc and iron within the female population of two farming villages in the Red River Delta, Vietnam
In many developing countries, among them Vietnam, contamination of agricultural land is a major issue that has public health implications. A fast growing population, rapid urbanization and industrialization have led to air and water emissions of potentially toxic elements (PTEs), such as cadmium (Cd). Earlier studies have shown that individuals with low iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) status absorb larger quantities of Cd than those of adequate nutritional status.
The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the Fe and Zn intake from the Foods consumed by women (15-45 years) in selected households in two agricultural villag-es in the Red River delta in Vietnam. In one of the villages the residents were involved in metal (mainly Fe) recycling activity, whereas in the other village the residents had agricul-tural production as main source of income. Interviews, followed by food intake calcula-tions, were performed.
Health added-value food : the Swedish retail market
Diet and lifestyle are closely interrelated and believed to have a significant influence on four major public diseases - cardiovascular disease, cancer, hypertension and obesity, but also affects functional deficiencies like gluten- and lactose intolerance. Health added-value Foods are thought to reduce health-related risks or delay the onset of these major diseases. Therefore, interest among scientists, researchers and the public in general has been growing remarkably over the last decade regarding these special Foods.
The Swedish market seems to be a good target for health added-values food. However, as there are many risks and cost factors involved for companies to enter the market or invest in R&D, it is important to take a step back and analyze the current market situation.
Animaliska restprodukter vid köttproduktion : Effektiv användning och livsmedelspotential
This master thesis aims to investigate and quantify the potential associated with increasing the usage of edible by-products as food for human consumption on the Swedish market. The main emphasis is on the Swedish production of offal and the obstacles that currently inhibit greater usage of these products as Foods.The results indicate that the Swedish market for offal is limited. Only a small amount of the edible by-products that are produced in Sweden every year are consumed as Foods and a considerable amount seem to be downgraded into animal feed or thrown away. The utilization of these products is restricted by economical, technical, legal, and cultural factors that all need to be taken into consideration. On the whole, large-scale slaughter plants seem to be more inclined to utilize these products effectively, as the profit from doing so increases proportionately to the produced volumes.
KESO - en allmän benämning för produkten cottage cheese : Vilka för- och nackdelar uppstår för innehavaren när dess varumärke blir en allmän benämning för en produktkategori?
Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva för- och nackdelar som uppstår för en varumärkesinnehavare då dennes varumärke, utav konsumenter, har kommit att uppfattas som en allmän benämning av en produktkategori. Även orsaker till fenomenet samt förebyggande åtgärder kommer att beröras. Ämnet är inte belyst i större utsträckning, varken inom teori eller i praktik. Syftet besvarades med hjälp av att studera Arla Foods varumärke KESO® som i uppsatsen konstateras vara en allmän benämning för produkten cottage cheese. Teori kring varumärken generellt samt ämnesspecifik teori sammanställdes för att fungera som ett analysverktyg.

As a reaction to this a major health trend has emerged in recent decades. Every day consumers are exposed to information from the media about what is healthy or unhealthy to eat and the recommendations change frequently.There is great interest in healthy food on the Swedish food market, but still healthy Foods only represents a small proportion of the total food sales. The essay examines the gap between the current and potential demand for healthy food and if it can be explained by any of the following factors: lack of information, price, taste or cognitive behavioral.To study these questions a quantitative method have been used and 213 questionnaires were collected. The intention is to draw general conclusions about the entire population.

The purpose of the study was to describe hemodialysis patients self-reporting salt habits associated with cooking and food intake. Furthermore, the purpose was to investigate possible differences in inter Dialyze significant weight gain at low and high self-reported salt consumption. The study was an empirical descriptive study of comparative features and consisted of a convenience sample from two hemodialysis units in southern Norrland. Study group consisted of 37 persons who had been ongoing hemodialysis treatment and their age ranged from 42-86 years. A questionnaire was used in two parts and both parts contained 15 Foods.

Svinnoptimering VTIS1
The goals of this Bachelors? Thesis were to establish the production loss through the VTIS1 Pasteur at Arla Foods Linköping dairy and then suggest simple but effective solutions to minimize the losses for each production run. If the timeframe allowed it, some of the solutions would be implemented and tested in full production to determine their impact on economic and environmental savings.The very first step of this project was to establish the statistics over what losses there is in the production pipeline through VTIS1, from milk and powders in mixer tanks to finished and packed products in cold storage. Then, when knowing how much product was actually lost and where, those bottlenecks could be pinpointed and examined more closely. At this stage the focus was switched, from the otherwise complicated and broad manufacturing process, to the VTIS1-aggregate, since early data indicated there were quite substantial losses there.In conjunction with this project Arla Foods purchased an absorption photometer-measuring device (OPTEK AS16) that could be inserted straight into the product stream out of VTIS1, allowing real time measurements of its optical density.
