I mitt examensarbete har jag haft för avsikt att undersöka metoder för att modellera lågpolygonkaraktärer för datorspel. Som min metod valde jag att delvis studera karaktärsmodeller från ett antal olika spel från etablerade spelföretag. Med olika programvaror har jag kunnat plocka ut modeller från spelen för att kunna granska dem under förstorningsglas.Med hjälp av samma program gjorde jag också en kort statistisk sammanställning över hur många polygoner som används för olika karaktärer i olika spel. Detta var i avseendet att få en uppfattning om vad som räknas som lågpolygonmodeller. Vad jag kom fram till här var att det inte finns en klar och tydlig definition av vad som räknas som lågpolygonmodell.

This master?s thesis attends to a debate in the Swedish daily press concerning the public library which arose after the Swedish Moderate Party?s publication of their cultural political document Kulturen 2.0. This document contains a number of standpoints, of which three directly concern the public library: charges on book loans, libraries on contract and politically balanced purchase policy. In all, 28 articles are examined by means of an idea and ideological analysis. The purpose is to find out what is behind the conflicts surrounding attitudes about the public library's mission and activity in an era of needs for change.

Denna uppsats undersöker hur lagen om minoriteter och minoritetsspråk, samt skrivningen i den nya bibliotekslagen från 2014, om att de nationella minoriteterna är särskilt prioriterade på biblioteken, har påverkat arbetet gentemot samer i samiska förvaltningsområden. För att ta reda på detta har jag tittat på och analyserat biblioteksplaner från samiska förvaltningsområden Jag har även genomfört fem kvalitativa intervjuer med bibliotekarier som arbetar på folkbibliotek i samiska förvaltningsområden. Analysen av biblioteksplanerna visade att i många fall var planerna inaktuella och kom till före den nya bibliotekslagen där nationella minoriteter framhålls som prioriterad grupp. Genom att enbart tolka biblioteksplanerna kan man dra den slutsats att bibliotekslagens innehåll inte påverkat folkbiblioteken i förvaltningsområdena i någon större utsträckning. Det faktum att de undersökta kommunerna var förvaltningsområden för samiska verkar ha haft större inverkan på bibliotekens arbete.

Today, "the digital library" is the common way of describing a managed collection of information, with associated services, stored in digital formats and accessible over a network. Digital libraries have mainly been developed at research libraries, but during the last few years public libraries have started to offer similar services.The aim of this Master's thesis is to study how the Swedish public libraries plan to develop their digital libraries according to their mission statements, and in what way they have implemented them at their web sites. 21 public libraries, the largest in each Swedish county, were investigated.The library mission statements are investigated to find out in what terms the digital libraries are described and to what extent. The library websites are examined with respect to what kind of digital services are offered, to what extent they supplement or replace the physical library, and if there are new digital services not found in the physical library.In most mission statements the digital library is referred to in sweeping terms like "IT activities" and "new media". However, a few of the libraries clearly regard the digital library as an important part of the future operations, speaking of it in well defined and extensive terms.The public library websites are relatively homogeneous when it comes to services supplementing physical library activities, like web access to the library catalogue and links to other library catalogues.

This Bachelor?s thesis is about crime-fiction in Swedish public libraries and aims at investigating the attitude of librarians employed within the public library sector with regards to crime-fiction writing. Therefore, our aim is to examine how public sector librarians assess the quality of crime fiction writing compared to other forms of fiction. And research has shown that librarians haven't always looked upon crime-fiction favorably. The established view of crime-fiction was widely seen by the majority of public sector librarians as a lower form of literature and regarded it as a form of mass culture.

The Swedish working-class author Ivar Lo-Johansson (1901-1990) wrote a collection of one hundred short stories between the years 1968-1972. His other productions, generally speaking, have partially different social reform purposes, but, according to himself, these short stories were written with the intention to be totally free of tendencies (even though he himself doubted that he succeeded with this).During the same period that these short stories were published, the Swedish social democrats were under the challenge of radical movements that, mainly on the radical left?s ideological foundation, had a relatively strong influence in Sweden, among other countries, from the mid 1960?s to the late 1970?s. Since Lo-Johansson mainly seemed to have supported the politics of the social democrats, the purpose of the investigation in this thesis has been to see if he ? in the three short stories: Vikingakärlek (1970), Rikslögnaren (1971) and Ansgars resa till Sverige (1972) ? is conveying an ideological use of history and basic political values that were used by the social democratic party during this time period.

I uppsatsens inledning påtalas att medier influerar samhället och därigenom människors sätt att vara och känna. För att utveckla arbetsmetoder som svarar mot samhällets syn på text framhålls att dagens bibliotekarier bör ta detta i beaktan. Syftet med undersökningen är att studera bibliotekariers arbetsmetoder i samband med lässtimulerande arbete i ett samhälle som ses stå inför ett nytt textlandskap. Resultatet är en kvalitativ fallstudie som undersöker bibliotekarierna i tvärgruppen Unggruppen på Uppsala Stadsbibliotek och deras upplevelser av fenomenet. I kapitlet ?Bakgrund och tidigare forskning? presenteras forskning om samtida text, lässtimulerande arbete för barn och unga och bibliotekariers arbete mot unga på folkbibliotek.Det teoretiska ramverket består av ett sociokulturellt perspektiv så som det beskrivs av Roger Säljö.

The purpose of this thesis is to research public librarians view ofthe public library as a meeting place and how it may contribute tofacilitate social integration. To study this we have asked thefollowing research questions: How do public librarians work withthe public library as a meeting place? And how do they contributeconditions for ?soft inclusion??The method we have used for this study is semi-structuredinterviews. Seven public librarians from the Gothenburg areawere interviewed and the empirical material was analyzed usingqualitative content analysis.As a theoretical foundation we have used Dorte Skot-Hansensmodel of the public library as a third place and Mikael Stigendalstheory on social inclusion. Furthermore have we used research onthe public library as a meeting place and social integration as acomplement to the model and the theory.Conclusions from the material gathered is that public librarianssee the public library as a meeting place with potential tocontribute to integrating individuals and groups with one another.The librarians? foremost method was to attract visitors withactivities aimed at certain target groups.

Text-till-talsystem blir allt vanligare i vardagen, och det forskas även en hel del på utvecklingen av tal-till-talöversättningssystem. Många företag använder sig i allt större utsträckning av telefontjänster där automatiska system med syntetiskt tal och taligenkänning ersätter människor. För att vi som konsumenter ska känna att det är bekvämt att nyttja dessa tjänster och förstå budskapen är det viktigt att dessa syntetiska röster låter så naturliga som möjligt. Det som gör en röst naturlig är dess prosodi, dvs.dess ickesegmentella aspekter såsom röstens intonation, intensitet och tempo, för att nämna några. Prosodin har inte endast lingvistiska funktioner utan den signalerar även känslor och attityder hos talaren.

The recent decades have been characterised by a trend where the public sector's been inspired by several methods and strategies from the private sector. The public library is in this case no exception. In this context there are different perspectives on whether or not this will lead to a dramatic change of the role and values of the traditional public library. The aim of this master's thesis is to make a contribution to a deeper understanding of the ideological conflicts within the Swedish public library and its relation to the market. In the literature of library and information science I have identified two separate discourses representing two contradictory systems of meaning concerning this relation.

I denna uppsats har jag undersökt Josefina Holmlund som studerade i Düsseldorf under dess storhetstid i mitten av 1800-talet och Pamela Noréus som var elev till Marcus Larsson och anammade det düsseldorfska landskapsmåleriet. Jag har undersökt vad landskapet som motiv hade för betydelse för kvinnliga konstnärer. Det tyskinfluerade landskapsmåleriet i Sverige vid denna tid brukar i allmänhet förknippas med bland annat Marcus Larsson, Edvard Bergh, Gustav Rydberg, Kilian Zoll och Alfred Wahlberg. Det är ytterst ovanligt att kvinnliga landskapsmålare nämns i svensk litteratur som behandlar Düsseldorf specifikt. Men kvinnor reste till Düsseldorf för att studera, Christine Sundberg, Sofie Ribbing, Jeanette Holmlund, Amalia von Schwerin, Josefina Holmlund och Vilhelmina Lagerholm är några exempel.

Den här utvärderingen undersöker vilken typ av folkbibliotek användare vill ha idag. Den inriktar sig främst på tre teman; miljö, öppettider och utbud. Utvärderingsobjektet är Skellefteå stadsbibliotek och till viss del även närbiblioteken i Skellefteå. Jag använde mig av en kvantitativ metod i form av webbenkäter, för att få reda på svaren på mina frågeställningar. Jag tog även hjälp av litteratur som redan fanns skrivet om ämnet.
