The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine similarities and differences in qualitative experiences between formal and informal reading groups from the participants? point of view. The empirical data was acquired from interviews with nine reading group participants, of whom four of them participated in formal reading groups and five in informal reading groups. To analyze the empirical data, Louise M. Rosenblatt?s theory concerning reading and a method concerning reading groups by Immi Lundin were used.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate the reasons for public libraries to have story-time today and also the reasons for story-time at the public library historically in Sweden. Why is the phenomenon of story-time still existing at public libraries today? The study is based on a questionnaire that was sent to childrens librarians in the VÀstra Götaland region. The material collected in this questionnaire was put together and resulted in six different categories showing the libraries purposes and thoughts of their story-time activities. The categories were: cultural heritage/tradition, joy of reading, language and imagination, library visits, storytelling and mutual experience.

This thesis examines art exhibitions, literature events and music events in public libraries in Sweden. The aim is to study which event occurs most in the libraries in Sweden. I also examine who takes responsibility for the events, who the libraries engage, how much the events cost, and how often the libraries have the events. I also study Swedish cultural politics in purpose to see if the libraries follow the aims and directions decided by the Swedish government. One aim of the Swedish culture politic is to give every citizen in Sweden the same possibility to experience culture, no matter where they live.

The question of the provision of electronic books in Swedish public libraries has lately evolved into a lively debate in Swedish media, where the public library?s identity and itsexpected role as a democratic institution is an underlying topic. The aim of this bachelorthesis is to examine the idea of the public library?s identity as expressed in newspaperand journal articles by writers connected to the library sector. The aim is achieved byexamining the language-use and identifying discourses in the debate.

This thesis studies if public libraries in Sweden have taken part ofinformation regarding the Swedish government policy that publicareas are to be made accessible by 2010. Also studied is thesignificance of information and resources on the execution ofaccessibility adaptations at public libraries.The analysis uses Lennart Lundquist?s theory of implementation ofpublic policies, that the person executing the policy needs tounderstand, be able to and want to in order for the policy to besuccessfully executed. The study was carried out through a surveyand the thesis focuses on the factors of understanding and beingable to.The survey was sent by email to all 290 municipal libraries inSweden with an answering frequency of 65%. The results arepresented in table format with explanations.The thesis finds that a clear majority of respondents have hadaccess to information about accessibility adaptations, but thatmuch fewer consider the information clear enough.

Syfte: Studien syftar till att unders?ka nuvarande kost- och n?ringspraxis inom allsvenska fotbollsklubbar 2024 samt identifiera brister och utmaningar i arbetet mot Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S). Metod: Enk?tunders?kningen, som baserats p? UEFAs n?ringsriktlinjer, distribuerades via e- post till allsvenska fotbollsklubbar, inneh?llande b?de kvantitativa och kvalitativa fr?gor (n=8). Svaren samlades in under en sexveckorsperiod och ytterligare en enveckasperiod. ?ven kvalitativa intervjuer utf?rdes med en del av klubbarna (n=4). Resultat: En majoritet av respondenterna saknade relevant utbildningsbakgrund inom idrottsnutrition f?r besvarande av fr?gorna, dessa personer bekr?ftades dock genom intervjuerna att vara de med mest insikt/kunskap inom organisationerna.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyzes how the bookmobile librarians approach to purchase and selection and the range of views that may exist. The study is based on a qualitative method using a document study and three interviews included. The document study looking closely at public libraries library plans in Vastra Gotalands county. The qualitative interviews gets a closer look at librariansÂŽapproach regarding the purchase and selection and also if there are any similarities or differences between mobile library activities versus the main library.The theoretical framework is based on Sanna Taljas study where she has identified three different perspectives on the libraryÂŽs music department. These are categorized as the interpretative repertoires and involves three categories of approach to quality.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate and increase the understanding of Swedish Public Library Websites and to determinate which activity they mediate. To analyse the Public Library Websites Andersson and Skot-Hansen?s model of roles for the Public Library has been used. This model inÂŹcludes four roles for the library: the library as a cultural centre, a knowledge centre, as an information centre and as a social centre.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how librarians are workingwith the selection and purchase of feature films in Swedish publiclibraries. I was interested in examining the underlying reasonsbehind the selections. I chose to focus on how librarians areworking and reason about the libraryÂŽs film collection.The purpose of my study is to answer the following questions:? How are librarians working with selection and purchase offeature films in the public library?? What factors motivate librariansÂŽ selection of featurefilms?? What do librarians reason about the public library filmcollection?To answer these questions I performed interviews with sevenlibrarians in five different public libraries. The results of theinterviews have been analyzed on the basis of the theories andtheoretical model of Sanna Talja.

En inventering av hĂ€stgĂ„rdar gjordes i Degerfors kommun inom Örebro lĂ€n. Inventeringen skulle ge den nya kontrollmyndigheten, lĂ€nsstyrelsen i Örebro lĂ€n, en kartlĂ€ggning av antal hĂ€stgĂ„rdar som fanns i kommunen samt information om djurskyddslĂ€get pĂ„ dessa gĂ„rdar. Totalt identifierades 85 hĂ€stgĂ„rdar. För att bedöma hur djurskyddet upprĂ€tthölls pĂ„ de inventerade gĂ„rdarna anvĂ€ndes en inventeringschecklista som utformades som en del av denna studie. PĂ„ grund av pĂ„visade brister i djurhĂ„llningen pĂ„ 11 gĂ„rdar, följdes sex av dem upp genom en djurskyddskontroll av lĂ€nsstyrelsen.

Futurum.kom is a collaborative marketing project with the aim of strengthening the internal organization of LÀnsbibliotek Sydost, Regionbibliotek Kalmar and the 25 public libraries within the southeast region. The project intends to externally build the brands of the public libraries in Blekinge, Kalmar and Kronobergs lÀn. This thesis is a study and evaluation of the implementation and results of Futurum.kom?s first campaign "LÄna dig rik" at a public library. The analysis is based on the following issues:? What goals does the library have with the "LÄna dig rik"-campaign.? What is the feedback from the staff's experience of the users in terms of needs and demands?? In which way does the library choose to implement the marketing campaign and what role do the users have in this process?? What is the internal performance of the library's marketing campaign, what was the experience of the staff of the campaign?? What is the external result of the library's marketing campaign?The method is based on a case study of a single library, with a series of interviews and document analysis of written and electronic documents.

The aim of this thesis was to understand and illuminate how readingpromotion projects can be carried out, what sort of activities they mightcontain and what sort of lasting impressions they might make. We choseto examine reading promotion projects because we consider thepromotion of reading and literacy a vital and important part of thelibraries work. The study took place at the city library of Uddevalla andthe projects included in the study were all directed towards children andyouth.The theory used in the thesis was Aidan Chambers?s model of theReading Circle which consists of the four themes of selection,?reading?, response and the enabling adult. Methods used were semistructuredinterview, document studies and observation.The results show that reading promotion projects benefit from cooperationbetween the adults involved and that education of the adultsin order to indirectly target the children is an effective way of spreadingthe love of reading.
