Klassisk testteori kan mÀta ett provs reliabilitet genom analyser av testtagares poÀng vid ett visst provtillfÀlle. Att följa gÀllande riktlinjer för provkonstruktion ökar sannolikheten för hög reliabilitet i provet. (Nilsson, 1979). I den föreliggande studien granskades ett företags provbank om 570 uppgifter, fördelade över nio delprov, utifrÄn riktlinjerna för provkonstruktion. Delproven avser att mÀta kunskaper inom vÄrd och omsorg.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to examine how blogs are used by public libraries for marketing purposes, and how librarians who blog perceive their blog as a marketing tool. The thesis is based on a qualitative study conducted using asynchronous e-mail interviews with librarians representing eleven different library blogs. The theoretical framework and concepts are taken from marketing theory, including Kotler's marketing mix, relationship marketing, and theories on the marketing of non-profit organisations, knowledge organizations, the Internet, and blogs. Our results and analysis reveal that libraries use blogs because they are an easy tool to use, they represent a new way to inform users about the library, they are a way to improve contact with the users and a way to reach potential users. According to the librarians we interviewed, blogs can be used to market libraries in a number of different ways: by disseminating information on the library and its various media and events, by providing a forum to demonstrate the skills of the librarians, and as a way of changing the image of the library.

This study investigates the use of the social network Facebook among 67 Swedish libraries; 27 academic libraries and 40 public libraries. Data is collected through an analysis of the libraries? Facebook pages and through an email survey. To analyze the data, a series of statistical analyses were performed.The results indicate that the public libraries more actively posted Facebook updates than the academic libraries and that the libraries that had a policy for use of Facebook/social media more actively posted updates than those libraries that did not have such policy. The libraries use Facebook mainly to post links and photos and to announce events, provide book recommendations, and to emphasize special occasions.

Sveriges Television kallar sig en TV i allmÀnhetens tjÀnst och har en erkÀnd roll som viktig aktör i den svenska demokratin. I sin roll som public service-företag har SVT en mÀngd uppgifter att fylla genom sitt programutbud. Public service uppgifter som alla tillsammans skall frÀmja ett demokratiskt samhÀlle. I takt med att medielandskapet och samhÀllet har förÀndrats sÄ stÄr SVT:s ar-bete med dessa uppgifter och mÄl inför nya utmaningar. Vi har i denna upp-sats anammat teorin om att TV-utbudet för public service idag börjat efterlikna de mer nöjesanpassade TV-kanalerna i frÄga om programutbud.

Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka om elever studerande A-kursen i matematik pÄ gymnasiets första Är var bÀttre pÄ att lösa procentuppgifter Àn elever i Ärskurs sex pÄ grundskolans senare Är. Vidare ville vi undersöka om elever i Ärskurs sex klarade att rÀkna procentuppgifter som finns i lÀromedlen för skolÄr nio samt om det Àr nÄgon skillnad i svÄrighetsgraden pÄ procentuppgifterna i lÀroböckerna? För detta anvÀndes en diagnos med nio uppgifter tagna ur matematiklÀromedel för Ärskurs sex och Ärskurs nio pÄ grundskolans senare Är. Vi har i enlighet med Möllehed (2001) försökt hitta uppgifter i vÄr diagnos med en varierande svÄrighetsgrad pÄ problemen. Vid vÄr analys av valda lÀromedel sÄg vi att svÄrighetsgraden pÄ uppgifterna inte har förÀndrats markant.

Sammanlagt medverkade 56 personer i studien, 32 killar och 24 tjejer i Äldrarna 10-18. En grupp lÄgstadiebarn och en grupp gymnasieungdomar testades i VT, EPT, SPT och SEPT betingningar.

The increased popularity of e-books in the Swedish publiclibraries started a debate in newspapers and library journalsbecause of the increase in costs, which this popularity hadled to. The main subject of the debate was the businessmodel provided by the e-book vendor Elib, which accordingto some ruins the libraries financially. In this thesis, opinionarticles have been analyzed using a theoretical model ofcultural politics by the Danish Library and Informationscience researcher Dorthe Skot-Hansen. The results of thestudy showed that people from the library field, publishersand authors were the ones contributing to the debate. Theanalysis of the articles showed that the model of culturalpolitics which consists of four general motives: socialchange, education, economic growth and entertainment wasvisible in the articles.

This thesis aims to study the impact of the transition from communism to democracy on the public libraries in Poland. The central areas of study are changes in: the organisation of the public library system, the role of the public library in society, the librarian's daily work and job situation and collection development. The thesis is based on qualitative interviews with public librarians, public library managers and researchers in Warsaw, Torun and Gdansk. The theoretical background consists of chapters outlining thoughts on democratic and communist library ideas and public libraries' responses to a changing society. The results show that the public library system has been affected by two major decentralisation reforms in Poland, leaving the libraries in the care of local governments.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the term balanced collection in relation to Swedish laws and the democratic assignment. The Unesco Public Library Manifesto states that libraries are to formulate a policy defining objectives, priorities and services in relation to local community needs. The Swedish Libraries Act, paragraph 7, states that municipalities and counties shall adopt plans for library services. To fulfil our aim we will answer the following questions. By which terms is the democratic assignment visible in Swedish public libraries collection development policies? Is the term balanced collection used in Swedish public libraries collection development policies? If not, are there categories describing balanced collection? Do the terms in Swedish collection development policies differ to the six categories found by Farooq M.

The aim of this essay is to examine three separate Swedish public libraries and their respective websites on the grounds of the usability sciences. I firstly had to summarize the main properties of the usability-field in order to gain an extended knowledge of its purposes and possible usage for today?s library systems. I was then able to apply the extended knowledge in the examination of the three library websites and the purpose of determining whether or not they were designed according to the standards set by the usability-sciences.Usability is a rather new science that deals with the dissection and examination of computer-based systems, in order to find the key components that make systems user-friendlier. With user needs being the main focus of its research, usability tries to meet all the different needs of the modern user and construct systems that are less system-centered and more user-centered.

This master?s thesis concerns the performance of professional children?s theatre in public libraries. With qualitative interviews I have looked into how four children?s librarians and two theatre consultants appreciate professional children?s theatre, and furthermore I have looked into their view on the importance of theatre for children. My intentions have also been to investigate their views on the function and status of children?s theatre in public libraries and also the relationship between library and theatre activities for children.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to examine how librarians perceive the importance of staff reading groups in helping to make fiction more accessible to adult users of public libraries. The study also examines how librarians perceive the learning processes in such groups, and what these learning processes involve and how they appear. The empirical data was acquired via observations of four staff reading groups and interviews with seven public librarians who took part in the groups. In part, the empirical data is interpreted by means of Lena Wilhelmsson?s analytical tool, which deals with changes of perspective within an organised group.

 This bachelor?s thesis purpose is to examine how library staff experiences the meeting with non-Swedish speaking users of public libraries, and how they solve different situations. Today there is not much research on this subject but we find these questions important to study because we think it is good to be aware of the situations that can arise and discuss how to solve any problems. To have a basis for this qualitative study we conducted group interviews with library staff, where they are asked about their experiences with non-Swedish speaking users. In the analysis the results of the interviews are compared to previous research and related to communication theory, which is the theoretical framework for this study.
