"Det är så himla viktigt kring yrkesidentitet" : En narrativ studie av berättelser om folkbibliotekarien

This Master's thesis aims to investigate librarians' identity construction through the study of their narratives about themselves and their lives. We want to understand in what way the education in Library- and Information science contributes to shape the students professional identity and how these identities then continue to be transformed when they enter their professional lives. We assert that this construction of identity takes place through socialisation. We start with the reference work because we think this is a central part of librarians' tasks. Our theoretical starting point is constructionism, we mean that professional identity is a social construction that continuously is formed and transformed.We interviewed six former students at Library- and Information science at Lund University.

In the end of the 80´s the area of system development moved into a new era. As a consequence many new methods and development models emerged which in many cases resulted in problems when choosing system development models and methods. As a result of these problems the today standardized modeling language UML (Unified Modeling Language) was created. UML is tailored to support many different types of projects. This is possible because of UML?s capacity to be adjusted and adapted to a specific company environment.The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to investigate how and why companies use UML and what experiences and opinions those who use UML have of using UML in practice.

Funktionaliteten i skogsmaskiners GIS-system

Holmen Skog is currently using a GPS-program called TraktInfo, originally developed within the company. They are now planning to switch to a new GPSprogram or allowing the contractors to buy other programs available from the logging equipment manufacturers. To be able to offer this Flexibility, Holmen Skog needs to obtain information about the features offered by the different manufacturers in their specific programs, and also when the manufacturers are planning to start selling programs adapted to the new standard called StanFord2010. According to the study, the manufacturers are hesitant to StanFord2010 and there has also been a lack of clear signals from the customers and clients about what kind of different new features to include in the programs. The feature most frequently used by forest machine operators today is the option to keep record of the harvester?s path by creating a ?log plot?. This feature was not used to its full potential however, since only one out of eight of the forwarders included in the study had computers that were compatible with the harvester?s computer.

At the Women?s House in Örebro, a children?s project has started where the work method ?Oasen? [Oasis] model has been developed by two children?s educationists. The aim of this study is, with the ?Oasen? model as a starting point, to deepen the knowledge of (1) how to meet children?s central needs while staying at a Women?s House and (2) what the ?Oasen? model may contribute to the children. The theoretical framework consists of a cognitive approach to the progress of children experiencing domestic violence and a presentation of conceptions concerning children?s needs.

Denna rapport presenterar det examensarbete som gjorts i samarbete med företaget Artimplant. Syftet med arbetet är att ta fram en prototyp av ett meniskimplantat i trikåteknik. Det kräver stickning av en given form och att prototypen ska inneha vissa egenskaper.Ämnesområden som berörs under arbetets gång är textiltillverkning med inriktning mot väfttrikå samt medicinsk textil. Förutom textila ämnesområden tas även ämnen som knäledens anatomi och meniskens uppbyggnad, funktion och skador upp. Kunskaper inom dessa områden krävs för att på bästa sätt ta fram prototyper av meniskimplantat.Att sticka det triangulära tvärsnittet och den böjda formen som krävs för ett meniskimplantat har varit ett arbete som pågått under hela projektet.

Konsultyrket är en modern anställningsform som har vuxit sig stark på den svenska arbetsmarknaden i takt med dess förändring och företagens ökade behov avflexibilitet. Då en konsult är anställd på ett konsultföretag men har uppdrag ute hos olika kundföretag, kan denne antas tillhöra flera organisationer samtidigt. Uppsatsen syftar till att få en ökad förståelse för konsulters arbetssituation, samt undersöka hur de uttrycker organisationstillhörighet och hur den upplevs påverka dem i deras arbete. Detta har gjorts genom en kvalitativ studie baserad på intervjuer med fem konsulter, vilka arbetar som managementkonsulter inom IT- branschen. To be competitive in the corporate climate of today it is important to have effective logistic activities. A common resource within the internal logistics is forklift trucks, which are used to lift and transport material. It becomes more and more important to decide whether to buy, lease or rent the forklifts to obtain an optimal economic situation. Many companies have issues with internal pricing. It is difficult to price products and services correctly. It is common to price the overall instead of what it really costs.The purpose of the thesis is to present a model for the acquisition of forklifts for internal logistic operations, regarding financing and internal pricing, to obtain economic effectiveness and an optimal forklift fleet size. The study focused on a specific research question, and for this purpose interviews with experts were held, observations were made and a literature study was done.

Background During the child?s first year of life there is a continuous contact with the Child Health Services (CHS) and the parents feel confident and involved. After the first year, the visits to the CHS is reduced at the same time as the everyday life changes for the family as the child starts going to day-care and the parents often go back to work.Aim To examine what it is like being a parent to children aged one to five and what kind of parenting support parents of children aged one to five are in need of.Method Semi-structured interviews were used to interview 25 parents in 21 telephone interviews and one focus group with 4 parents. The recruiting of parents was done on site at one open day-care and with the help of CHS nurses in Sweden. There were 10 men and 15 women.

Skogsvårdsentreprenörer i norra Norrland 2009 : företagsbeskrivning och analys av kompetensens betydelse för planteringsresultat

The number of silvicultural contractors has significantly increased in the last decades, and among its main clients are the forest companies. The purpose with this study was to describe the contractors that worked with planting in Norrbotten and Västerbotten in 2009 for Holmen Skog, Norra Skogsägarna, SCA Skog and Sveaskog and also examine if there was any correlation between the contractors? competence and the quality in the planting they achieved. A survey was made among 47 contractors with a questionnaire who performed planting for the forestry companies in 2009. 27 contractors answered the questionnaire and 4 representatives of these contracting companies took part in an extensive interview.
