Gender mainstreaming has been an internationally dominant policy since the mid 1990?s. In 2004, the Swedish government decided to implement gender mainstreaming within the Government Offices of Sweden. However, little research seems to have focused on the reasons for an organization's decision to implement gender mainstreaming. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to answer the question why the Government Offices of Sweden have decided to use gender mainstreaming.

This Master?s thesis aims to study how the concept ?youth? is understood and used in papers and publications about public libraries, written at The Swedish School of Library and Information Science from 1972 to 2002. It does this by answering three questions: Firstly, how is the concept ?youth? formulated in papers and publications at SSLIS from 1972 - 2002? Secondly, has the concept ?youth? changed in the analysed texts during the chosen time and, if that is the case, what constitutes this change? And, finally, what types of consequences for the understanding of the users can this have for the writers and readers of these texts? Discourse analysis is used to analyze how this concept is constituted, transformed and understood. Among the things studied in the discourse analysis is the interdiscursivity and intertextuality of the texts, as well as the meaning of the word, the wordings and modality of the analysed texts.

The purpose of this thesis was to study the importance of an artist?s personal brand from a record company and artist management perspective. We also aimed to investigate how these companies work to create and maintain an artist?s personal brand. The study conducted was a case study based on interviews with staff members of a major record company, Universal Music AB, and an artist management, United Stage Management Group AB.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att belysa chefens roll i förhållande till personalomsättning inom en säljande organisation, utifrån dimensioner av person-environment fit och role stress. Metod: Utifrån studiens syfte har en kvalitativ metod använts. Data har samlats in genom semistrukturerade intervjuer. Materialet har analyserats och redovisats med hjälp av well-grounded theory. Resultat & slutsats: Denna studie visar på chefers förståelse för vikten av att personer de anställer ska passa in i yrket och organisationen. De rekryterar främst efter personlighet och möjlighet att passa in i gruppen. Chefernas synsätt skiljer sig gällande överbelastning och stress.

The essay examines and compares three different textbooks used in gymnasieskolans A- course from a postcolonial perspective. The method used in the essay is a qualitative analysis. Edward Said?s postcolonial theories are used as a tool to facilitate the analysis of the textbooks. The purpose of the essay is to examine how the textbooks depicts different parts of the world, are they depicting a multicultural world view, or are the textbooks assuming a western perspective in their description of the world.

The individual's perspective has become a relevant issue with the rapid moderndevelopment. One's cultural identity can be seen as a life-long project.The purpose of this paper is to do an in-depth text analysis to examine how Swedish politicians constituteand construct identities, with a focus on "the self" and the "mediatization self" on the micro-blog Twitter.The theoretical ground for this study is from a discourse analysis point of view that focus on ?the self? andthe ?meditization self?.

The present research examined both automatic and controlled processes in newpapers ability of priming racial stereotypes via the portrayals of people of foreign extraction. The automatic process were examined through articles which; a) involved an illegal act or b) the act was not illegal but morally questionable. Swedish-born subject?s explicit opinions against foreign people were also measured through ?The Modern Racial Prejudice Scale?. In the experiment participants read four different articles which included; Swedish person/noncrime, foreign person/noncrime, Swedish person/crime and foreign person/crime.

Abstract This paper seeks to answer how well the unit managers in a community live up to its responsibility for rehabilitation. What opportunities and obstacles center managers feel that they have in the rehabilitation process and their expertise in rehabilitation are adequate. The essay is based on qualitative, in which six interviews were conducted to help capture the Heads of Unit subjective experiences. Five of the respondents are heads of units in the elderly, and an interview with the rehabilitation coordinator of the municipality. Respondents' comments and relevant literature form the basis for this essay.

Personer med psykossjukdom får idag omfattande stöd av sina närstående. Den stödjande rollen kan innebära en hög belastning och börda för närstående. Interaktionen med en person med psykossjukdom kan försvåras av en rad olika faktorer och har visats betydelsefull för sjukdomsprognosen. I sjuksköterskans arbete ingår att ge stöd och vägledning till närstående. Syftet med föreliggande litteraturstudie var att beskriva närståendes behov av stöd som kan förbättra interaktionen med person med psykossjukdom.

Det har visat sig att närstående som vårdar en person med demenssjukdom använder i större utsträckning psykofarmaka samt löper större risk att drabbas av depression. Känslor av otillräcklighet, skuld, dåligt samvete och skam är vanligt. Att leva med en person med demenssjukdom kan göra det svårt att tillgodose sitt eget sociala behov vilket kan leda till ensamhet som i sin tur leder till sämre hälsa och lägre livskvalitet. Syftet med studien var att belysa livsvärlden för närstående som vårdar en person med demenssjukdom i ordinärt boende. Metoden var en litteraturstudie baserad på åtta stycken vetenskapliga artiklar.

This bachelor thesis explores earlier findings regarding the Nextopia effect and the choice of media for advertising, and how these phenomena influence consumer attitudes toward the ad itself as well as the brand. I litteraturen framkom det att det var många faktorer som spelade in. En demensdrabbad person förlorar successivt den språkliga delen av kommunikationen och blir mer beroende av den "tysta" kommunikationen som exempel beröring. Studien gjordes som en litteratur studie med en kvalitativ ansats. I resultatet framkom faktorer som; fysisk kontakt, språk, mimik och bevaring av integritet.

?Pedagogiska kvarten? is a project at Örebro University. It is a study that deals with the teachers? perspective of pedagogics. When I came in touch with ?Pedagogiska kvarten? I found it interesting to find out more about pupils? perspective of pedagogics, since the teachers? perspective already had been noticed.
