This is a qualitative study with the aim of getting better knowledge and understanding of how people with mental illness experience having access to a public communication channel. The study builds upon qualitative interviews with four participants of a radio project called Radio Totalnormal (RTN). RTN is a community radio station where people with mental illness do radio. The study focuses on how the respondents describe the participation in the project and how it has affected their self-image. The analysis uses the concept of empowerment and four social psychological concepts: social responsivity, asocial non-responsivity, abstract sociability and concrete sociability.

SAMMANFATTNINGAmbulanssjukvårdens utveckling gällande medicinsk teknik och medicinsk kompetens har skapat möjlighet för ambulanssjuksköterskan att kunna vårda patienterna på en mycket avancerad nivå. Samtidigt har möjlighet skapats att triagera, prioritera och styra patienterna mot rätt vårdinstans till skillnad från tidigare då alla ambulansuppdrag resulterade i ett besök på en akutmottagning. Detta är en möjlighet som hanteras olika beroende på var i Sverige ambulanssjuksköterskan arbetar.Syftet med studien var att belysa vård på plats i samband med ambulansuppdrag inom ett specifikt sjukvårdsområde.Studien utgick från en kvantitativ ansats och var en journalstudie där ambulansjournaler granskades.Resultatet visar att det finns månadsfluktuationer över ett helårsperspektiv men att dessa är små och svårtolkade. Störst skillnad är det mellan november, 15,3 procent (n=489) och maj 11,6 procent (n=386). När dygnsfördelningen av eftersökta uppdrag analyserades framkom det att natten (22.00?05.00) är den tid då de flesta uppdragen relativt sett resulterar i att patienten inte transporteras vidare med ambulans.

This report describes the development of a high-voltage connector at the request of Scandinova Systems AB in Uppsala. The development process is described from the making of a customer demand specification, to the making of drawings for the manufacturing of prototypes. Scandinova develops high-voltage modulators, hence the need for connectors that can handle very large power pulses. Their current connector has several weaknesses that may cause the connector to melt or catch fire. The development began with a number of studies that included the modulator structure and the current connector structure and functions.

This Masters thesis work describes a comparison between two different methods for estimation of the down channel (base station to mobile subscriber) in Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA). The first estimation method, Optimal Feed-forward Channel Estimation (OFCE), is a conventional method that bases the estimates on data that is known to both sender and receiver, so called pilots. The second method, Decision Directed Channel Estimation (DDCE), is an elaboration of OFCE. It also uses user data for estimation. Simulations show that DDCE, in comparison to OFCE, does not attain an improvement in signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) for high bit error rates (BER).

Syftet med denna uppsats är att bidra till en ökad förståelse för NSFS samt att undersöka hurden svenska NSFS-förmågan år 2010 påverkar möjligheten att agera i enlighet med de militärateorierna. Den undersöker också om de militärteoretiska grunderna, den tekniska utvecklingenoch den förändrade inriktningen för Sveriges försvar medför ett ökat behov av NSFS-förmåga.Uppsatsen bygger på en deskriptiv metod där svensk försvarspolitisk inriktning, militära teorier,NSFS och svensk NSFS-förmåga 2010 behandlas. Huvudsakliga källor har varit litteratur, offentligttryck, doktriner och intervjuer rörande ovanstående områden. Begreppet NSFS har avgränsatstill att enbart beröra markmålsbekämpning med robot och artilleri. Automatic milking systems (AMS) are part of a growing trend in Sweden and the number of milk-producing farms is decreasing rapidly. One main reason for the AMS is its ability to facilitate work for the farmer. The effects of introduction prior to calving have not been documented earlier and farmers are not in agreement, however they seldom see a problem with the introduction. The aim of this report is to find differences between two groups of heifers, where one group is trained i.e. introduced to the AMS before calving and the other group is introduced after calving.

In conclusion DDCE is complicated, involves many mathematical operations and gives insignificant improvement of SNR when BER takes common values. This bachelor?s thesis studies Carl Str?mbergs ?ppeltr?dg?rd, a private garden consisting of a large number of apple trees and varieties. The garden is located outside ?rebro, in N?rke, and is owned by a unit owner association whose goal is to preserve and determine the varieties. Through interviews, articles, site visits and documents from Carl Str?mberg, the purpose have been to get an understanding of who Carl Str?mberg was, how he collected the apple varieties and how that process was affected by the climate amongst apple growing and pomology during that time.

Detta uppdragsbaserade arbete är en del av ett stort projekt som Göteborgs Hamn AB driver, vars syfte är att förnya det nuvarande brandskyddet i Energihamnen och även möta framtida krav. Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka vilka förväntningar personal vid rederier och fartygsbefäl som regelbundet anlöper Energihamnen har på Göteborgs Hamn AB:s brandskyddsutrustning och brandberedskapsplaner. Vidare undersöktes vilken brandskyddsutrustning några av de tankfartyg som regelbundet anlöper Energihamnen har ombord, även vilka krav som ligger till grund för den utrustningen. För att få svar på ovanstående syfte kombinerades intervjuer med personal vid tre rederikontor och fem fartygsbefäl från samma rederier med en litteraturstudie. Litteraturstudien består av en sammanställning av de regelverk som ställer specifika krav och rekommendationer för det brandskydd som ska finnas ombord på tankfartyg.

AimThe purpose was to make researches into and illustrate how the leadership looks like at sporting event, concerning human communication.The following issues have been treated: What is characteristic for leadership during a sporting event? What does communication look like within the managerial? What kind of problems appears or can appear on account of defective communication at sporting event.MethodThe method being used is qualitative, based on interviews with three group leaders and one project leaders, all working for a summertime sporting event. As a form of basis a search for existing literature and articles on this subject were accomplished. The selection was made after having consulted a person of proportionately high station, active at the invested sporting event.ResultsAs a result of the essay, I have brought out, that leadership is different from group leaders and project leaders. Their difference in assignment demands different leadership, and that explains the occasion.

The aim of this essay is to examine the background to the ongoing conflict between Spain and Basque. The conflicting parts and the opportunities of an agreement regarding a permanent cease-fire will also be examined. I chose to write about this conflict due to the fact that it has been going on for a long time, and is still going on.In order to be able to conduct the survey of this essay I have studied a wide range of books, reports from different institutions, and articles. I have strived for objectivity and to retail a fair description of the situation.To get a better understanding of the conflict the essay starts with history of conflict which has its beginning in the fifteenth century. Further on the essay is going to examine the conflicting parts that exist nowadays, and also the acting of different Basque political groups and the acting of the Spanish government.

Urban planning is not only a matter of architectural trends; it is first and foremost political. This thesis seeks to understand the links between political ideas and visions for the city and the physical structure of the city. The study aims to construct a model to help understand these links, a helpful tool in analysing a city, focusing on the one hand at the physical structure of what I call "The City as a Welfare Provider" and on the other hand at "The City as a Growth Engine". It also sets out to test this model in an empirical study of Stockholm and the soon-to-be built district of Norra Station in the same city.The analysis shows that Stockholm has ambitions to be a welfare provider to its citizens, but have also adopted to a discourse of interurban competition which stresses the importance for the city to enhance economical growth. What is interesting is that the physical structures promoted in the planning documents of Stockholm are nearly exclusively those associated with the model of "The City as a Growth Engine"..

This study examines how the local rescue services relate to the brand of the rescue service and the concept of brand management. To understand the attitudes against the brand and brand management, empirical data, theoretical modelling of brand and current laws have been discussed together in a try to get an overview how the rescue services practically works with the brand. The study results are based on a questionnaire survey and qualitative semi-structured interviews. The survey was sent to employees working with the communication of the rescue service. The interviews were held with two employees working with the communication of the rescue service and two fire chiefs.
