Detta examensarbete har utförts på initiativ av Scania CV AB. Scania är en världsledande tillverkare av tunga lastbilar, bussar och industri- och marinmotorer. Konstruktionsgruppen inom Scania som detta examensarbete utfördes vid är benämnd NMKA och är en del av avdelningen NM ? Engine development som bedriver forskning & utveckling av Scania motorer.Denna avhandling inom produktutveckling tjänar syftet som slutgiltigt examinationsmoment för civilingenjörsprogrammet Innovation och produktdesign på Mälardalens högskola. Arbetet har utgått ifrån en metod för produktutveckling som lärs ut i samband med utbildningen.Uppdraget har baserats på frågeställningen att utveckla ett robust klamningskoncept för kablage på motor, som uppfyller de ergonomiska och konstruktionsmässiga krav som Scania ställer på sina artiklar.

Vid Akzo Nobel Sundsvall finns en kabelkulvert där en mängd kablar leds. Det sker ingen tillsyn av kulverten och någon konsekvensanalys av brand finns ej. Elektricitet matas genom kulverten till bland annat AGA-gas. Gjorda genomföringar ifrån kulverten till andra utrymmen finns ej dokumenterad och risken för spridning av brand och brandgaser till andra utrymmen finns. Syftet med rapporten är att göra en konsekvensanalys av en brand i kulverten samt utföra beräkningar på olika brandscenarion i kulverten.

Analysis of Jonas Åström 's peasant-diary 1868-1891 Peasant diaries are notes written by farmers, crofters and other people connected with small-scale agriculture. The notes give unique information about diverse aspects of rural life, for example, personal relationships and work, travel and regularity of church attendance. One such diary was written by Jonas Åström who lived in the county of Västerbotten, Sweden. The main aim of this study is to describe the work done by farmers in the 19th century, focusing on their use of forest resources, as recorded in his diary.

Sammanfattning Projektarbetet syftar till ett åtgärdsprogram för brandskyddet på SSAB- tunnplåts gamla fartygsmanufakturbyggnad i Luleå. De resulterade brandskyddsförslagen fastställdes genom riskidentifieringar och undersökningar av lokalens verksamheter. Analyser utfördes på de valda riskobjekten samt bearbetades med ett flertal metoder. Rapportens huvudsakliga beslutsstöd är ett datorbaserat simuleringsprogram, Fire Dynamics Simulator. Programmet genomför bland annat beräkningar på brand- och rökgasspridning, effektutveckling och temperatur i lokalens brandceller, på dess material och fordon.

Government regulations and customs duties restrict the import of trucks to some of the markets to which Scania tries to sell their trucks. The distribution problem due to these regulations is solved by the foreign assembly department, KD, at Scania. This bachelor-level thesis in historical osteology deals with several aspects of the life-cycle of an RomanIron Age farm in southern Scania. Excavated in the 1980's by Lars Larsson, the farm was located near aplace called Långåker in the Dybäck area, on a cape which stretched out into a minor bog. Our work concerns why the Iron Age people settled the area, how well fragmented bone survives in a bog, what they produced at the farm and how life on the farm finally ended. From the roughly 10 % of the total number of fragments we where able to identify we can conclude, that he species that are present of the farm areusual Iron Age species (dog, sheep/goat, cattle and swine). We also have a relitivly large number of wildanimals in our material (2%).

Under 2010 brann ett så kallat lekland ner i Borlänge. Brandförloppet var snabbt och kritiska förhållanden för utrymning infann sig inom kort tid. Det var ett fåtal besökare på leklandet och alla klarade sig oskadda. Lekland är ofta byggda i gamla industri- eller affärslokaler och innehåller ofta stora lekställningar av stålkonstruktion med stora mängder plast i rutschbanor, fallskydd och andra detaljer..Syftet med rapporten är att belysa problem som kan uppstå vid utrymning av lekland. Delar i detta består i att undersöka barns beteende vid utrymning, möjlig brand i lekland och möjligheter till dimensioneringen av lekland.I denna rapport studeras två olika lekland.

SammanfattningSyftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka huruvida det genom en övergång från erfarenhetsbaserade arbetssätt till användning av vedertagna optimeringsmetoder finns möjlighet till kostnadsbesparingar för ingående lager i O-fabriken på Volvo Cars motorfabrik i Skövde (SkEP).SkEP dimensionerar idag sina lagernivåer på erfarenhetsmässiga grunder, vilket enligt teorierna inte är helt optimalt ur ett kostnadsperspektiv. Det antas därför att det kan finnas en stor förbättringspotential om SkEP istället börjar använda optimeringsmetoder för att beräkna lager- och orderstorlekar. SkEP upplever i dagsläget inte några större problem, däremot villde veta hur pass bra deras lagernivåer egentligen är. Motiveringen till varför just O-fabriken är intressant är att cylinderhuvudena som tillverkas där är de enda komponenterna som påverkas av den aggregerade slutkundsefterfrågan och därför även kan tillämpas som typexempel vid optimering av andra komponentlager.Metoden som används i uppsatsen är i första hand kvalitativ primärdata i form av intervjuer och observationer samt till viss del sekundärdata, i form av kvantitativ information från SkEPs interna datasystem, CDEC, och en teoretisk studie i ämnet lagerstyrning.Uppsatsen börjar med en teoretisk genomgång av ämnet, vilken till största del bygger på professor Stig-Arne Mattssons publikationer. Där tas de beräkningsmetoder som används i arbetet upp, så som Kapitalbindning, EOQ, SERV2 och beräkning av säkerhetslager.

The biodiversity of the Swedish forest has degenerated since the beginning of the 19th century when fire suppression and large scale logging first occurred. Together with a changed land use, these actions today have had a negative influence on many forest dwelling species, due to gradual reduction of natural processes, successions and different structures from the forest ecosystem. The Swedish Forest Act, together with different environment certifications, have today encouraged private persons and forest companies, among them Holmen Skog, to work actively to improve nature conservation. The aim of this study was to, by field inventories of already existing nature values, literature studies, recommendations from scientific reports and ecological gap analysis as a basis, make a management plan, for a non-production area, to conserve or improve the prerequisites for biodiversity. ?Storskogsberget? is located in the coastal area of Västerbotten County, 35 km from the city of Umeå.

The thesis concerns the use of classification schemes for organising resources in subject-based hierarchical search-services on the web. The aim is to investigate the different kinds of classification that are used, which fall into two groups: established respectively new classification schemes. This is attained by studying literature and the websites of each search-service. The prospects for using classification in a web-environment are discussed and divided into three major groups: browsing, control and cross-classification. One question at issue concerns how an established scheme manages to organise web-resources and whether this classification differs from the classification of new schemes and in what way.

Vår uppgift på Valeo Engine Cooling AB i Linköping har varit att förbättra produktionssystemet genom att utveckla internlogistiken mellan lagret och monteringsstationerna samt sättet att lagra material.Valeo är en grupp bildad 1980 genom en fusion av bilkomponenttillverkare. Totalt har Valeo 71500 anställda. De verktyg som Valeo rekommenderar för förbättring av internlogistiken är Small Boxes, Flat Storage och Linefeeder. Användandet av dessa verktyg stödjer de principer som finns inom Toyota Production System och Lean Production.Linefeeder är den person som förser monteringsstationerna med material. Han kör omkring med en dragtruck efter vilken han kopplar på olika vagnar.

Att utreda möjligheterna att etablera dataförsörjning riktade mot multimodala transporttjänster är idag av största intresse. Det är också intressant att försöka utnyttja de standarder som tagits fram när en dataförsörjningskedja ska etableras. Detta examensarbete genomfördes på Triona AB i Borlänge. Triona har utvecklat databasen Transport Network Engine (TNE), som idag används för att läsa in data från Nationella VägDataBasen (NVDB) och från skogsnäringen. Målet med arbetet var att ta fram en informationsmodell, som beskriver hur ett transportnät med nätanknutna data, som stödjer multimodala transporter och resor, kan lagras i TNE.
