En simulator ger inte bara möjligheten att efterlikna verkligheten, den kan också förbättra och förstärka viktig information för den som tränar. Inom medicinsk simulatorutveckling är strävan efter att efterlikna verkligheten till fullo mycket stark och de möjligheter tekniken ger har i stort förbisetts. I denna studie lades fokus på de två förbisedda områdena pedagogisk förstärkning och spatial kognition. I en experimentell studie undersöktes effekter av införandet av ett visuellt pedagogiskt verktyg (förstärkande hjälplinjer) under träning i en vr-simulator för ortopedisk kirurgi. De erhållna resultaten sattes också i relation till deltagarnas spatiala förmåga.24 läkarstudenter genomgick en timmes introduktion och träning följt av eftertest både direkt efter träning och en respektive två veckor efter träning.

Det här examensarbetet har utförts på uppdrag av Logica part of CGIoch i samarbete med deras kund Thermoprodukter. Syftet med arbetetär att undersöka om Thermoprodukters verkliga processer stämmeröverens med Microsoft Dynamics NAV Process Flows.Genom att först göra en analys av Microsoft Dynamics NAV ProcessFlows har den tänkta arbetsprocessen identifierats. Sedan harThermoprodukters processer identifierats samt ritats upp i ett flödes-??schema. För att slutligen kunna jämföra processerna och få ut ett resultatom dessa stämmer överens eller inte.Resultatet visar att processerna stämmer bra överens med varandra menatt det självklart finns skillnader då Thermoprodukter har en delspecialbyggda moduler..

Fire is an important ecological factor, but its consumption of coarse woody debris, CWD, has hardly received any attention. In this study, I investigate the consumption in relation to the time of initial flame exposure and propensity for continued combustion of standing CWD of pine (Pinus sylvestris).

Brand i kabelkulvert: En analys av dimensionerande bränder i en kabelkulvert
Vid Akzo Nobel Sundsvall finns en kabelkulvert där en mängd kablar leds. Det sker ingen tillsyn av kulverten och någon konsekvensanalys av brand finns ej. Elektricitet matas genom kulverten till bland annat AGA-gas. Gjorda genomföringar ifrån kulverten till andra utrymmen finns ej dokumenterad och risken för spridning av brand och brandgaser till andra utrymmen finns. Syftet med rapporten är att göra en konsekvensanalys av en brand i kulverten samt utföra beräkningar på olika brandscenarion i kulverten.

Fördjupad brandöversyn: fartygsmanufaktur, SSAB-tunnplåt, Luleå
Sammanfattning Projektarbetet syftar till ett åtgärdsprogram för brandskyddet på SSAB- tunnplåts gamla fartygsmanufakturbyggnad i Luleå. De resulterade brandskyddsförslagen fastställdes genom riskidentifieringar och undersökningar av lokalens verksamheter. Analyser utfördes på de valda riskobjekten samt bearbetades med ett flertal metoder. Rapportens huvudsakliga beslutsstöd är ett datorbaserat simuleringsprogram, Fire Dynamics Simulator. Programmet genomför bland annat beräkningar på brand- och rökgasspridning, effektutveckling och temperatur i lokalens brandceller, på dess material och fordon.
Implementering av Patientsimulator för Anestesimaskiner
In order to facilitate testing of anesthesia machines a patient simulator has been required by Maquet Critical Care AB. A patient simulator has been developed to reduce expensive and time consuming animal experiments and temporary lab arrangements. The patient simulator has been developed and designed to simulate human lungs with regards to anesthetic uptake, production of carbon dioxide and heating and moisturizing exhaled air.The system comprises a container and a test lung to simulate the volume and the dynamic of the human lung. The simulation of uptake of anesthetics has been implemented by pumping a fraction of the gas from the container through a bypass circuit with an active charcoal filter that adsorbs volatile anesthetics. The flow through the bypass circuit is generated by a pump and is controlled by a linear valve.The resulting performance of the patient simulator has fulfilled the requirements.

A key part in the development and verification of digital systems is simulation. But hardware simulators are expensive, and software simulation is not fast enough for designs with a large number of gates. As today?s digital zesigns constantly grow in size (number of gates), and that trend shows no signs to end, faster simulators handling millions of gates are needed. We investigate how to create a software gate-level simulator able to simulate a high number of gates fast.
Influence of the habitat on the potential for cannibalism and population dynamics in stream-dwelling European grayling (Thymallus thymallus L.)
Cannibalism can have major influence on fish population dynamics. A prerequisite for cannibalism is that the cannibal and the potential victim meet, and besides density effects, the encounter rate between cannibals and their victims is therefore also largely dependent on habitat use and habitat heterogeneity. In this study I quantified and compared the potential for cannibalism in stream-dwelling European grayling populations in three rivers in Jämtland by means of habitat classifications. I also analyzed population dynamic consequences of varying the potential for cannibalism in terms of intensity, using a physiological structured population model. Findings based on habitat characteristics were that the potential for cannibalism is in general not favourable in these types of streams.
Automatiskt bygge av FUS39A
This paper describes the design and implementation of an automated build system for the JAS39A simulator FUS39A at HiQ:s offices in Arboga. The assignment was to automate the process in which modules are built; the simulator is composed of a number of modules which are built manually at the end of each week, this process takes about a day of manual labor. The system can automatically build a module as either a scheduled service or by manual invocation. The system contains functionality for reporting the build results to any given recipient by e-mail. The purpose of the system is to free up the time put into manually building the modules for better suited tasks by automating the build of FUS39A.The assignment was split into two parts, an analysis part where information of the old system was gathered, tools and methods were chosen and the new system was designed.
